I think if someone is going to retire young it makes more sense to draw SS at 62. If one continues working you can only make so much before the SS payment starts being reduced. I can't remember the income cap. After age 70 there is no longer an income cap. At least this is how I understand it.... which may not mean much.

Live - One Way Voyage(r), Boston to San Juan 10/30

Yup, too bad the bridge crossing the bay is not closer to the Pan Am pier. A water taxi from the pier crossing the bay would be cool too. Of course, I'm sure the taxi drivers think differently. -
Ok, I still have no idea what the right answer will be when the time comes. Part of my problem is I love what I do. I am in private practice (yes, the tail end of the old generation of physicians) and doing what I always wanted to do since I was, maybe, 10 years old. I have a practice that I started from scratch. And I don't know how I would give it up.

The Pan Am pier is not in Old San Juan. It is across the bay. RCI ships that embark from San Juan use the terminal. RCI ships there as a port if call use the down town terminals in OSJ. -

The dockyards was far less developed when I was there. Ships at that time were still docking at St. George and Hamilton. Though there were shops and things to do at the dockyards it didn't seem all that commercial. -

Don't think that was me but I don't remember everything I post.🙃 -
As you know, there is really no good way to figure out what age to start collecting. I think many people feel better gambling on having a longer life span and hold off on collecting. Unfortunately, there are plenty of people who never get to collect a dime of what they paid in over many years with that strategy. I have no idea what the right decision will be when the time comes to make it.

It is very walkable. Of course, one's level of mobility factors in. But Old San Juan is really fairly compact and I find it easy to walk to just about anyplace there. Though the walk out to El Moro is longer than it looks from the road! -

Another place in San Juan with great family memories. I always make a stop when I'm in Puerto Rico. -
Icon of the Seas, Tiny Diamond Lounge, bad location?

Same argument that had been going in for years. The amount spent on a specific sailing vs. the amount spent over time as one moves up the C&A ladder. -
Icon of the Seas, Tiny Diamond Lounge, bad location?

Ok, if you are restricting your comments to the location on Icon. The V/F class ships as well as Allure, have very nice lounges and those Windjammer pastries taste better in there than they do with the crowds of the WJ. -

Maybe the same pastries but very different atmosphere.
