Put your foot down BklynBoy8 and demand  your cheesy rolls of an evening. ☺️ The wait staff ask me and turn to  my husband with a smile as they know my answer, just as they're ready with the cheesy one before he asks!!

Even though it is 530+ days away, It Is Alright On My List!........lol.....

Their Everything roll is not too bad also. I coming from Brooklyn the home of the Bagels, I liked theirs for the Smoke Salmon at Breakfast..  Good quality especially lightly toasted.

Not had a roll for around ten years on Cunard  as my spare capacity goes on morning toast for the crispy bacon toastie.

Could be luxury bread or it could be cheap 'n cheerful's own by the time I've finished slathering brown sauce on it.😀

My husband is very partial to the cheesy roll.

We always enjoy the roll baskets and pastry basket when presented to us at the meals. And we still enjoy the style of toast we like at that breakfast on the Silver Toast Holder.

Of course and roll and that gravy/sauce left on the plate is the cherry on top of the sundae. Good to the last drop.

We have found cheesy rolls on our last September sailing, mostly breakfast and lunch and not dinner. Crispy as it melted on top.

Happy with all their bakery goods.

  3. As I have mentioned before, have we sailed on the same ship as you all have.

We prefer the same type of accommodations and do appreciate upgrades.

Enjoy the selection of cuisines offered at the various location of the ship.

We see very little to dissatisfies us while on board. After close to 26+ sailings, we always feel at home if it a 7 day or 14 days voyage with the care, food and entertainment. Ports of Calls don't really concern us as we have visited many repeatedly and go for rest and relaxation.

Thanks for all the great information. Cruise Critic provides us with the source of useful information

We did enjoy walking and strolling the town off the pier. Being on the QM2, we had to tender to the pier. We had street performers at the pier and enjoyed the festival atmosphere they offered us. We even walked a bit into town and found like a market - green market of locals with many different products.

My DW stopped into a local shop of cloth product and brought so gift back home. Also we stop at a shop that made interestly home made soaps and lotions we enjoyed also bring home. Better than those you would buy in a drug store or supermarket.

There seems to be more unhappy cruisers via the Celebrity CC boards. One thread entitled something like “Is Celebrity the new Carnival?”. Lots of downgrades in Suite benefits too and many unhappy with Infinite glass veranda rooms.
Princess pax seem also to be trending unhappy too with medallion tech problems and cutback complaints too.
Complaints too about how sloppy pax dress on their “formal” nights.

I have an in law on the other side going first time on Celebrity Apex and first time cruiser to the ship's of today and feel bad for the let down they will experience.

Seeing You Tubes and reviews not favorable. I remember a famous cruising magazine that overwhelmingly praises Celeb for their food. This was the days before Mega Ships.

Once again, so glad I am a Cunard Loyalist.

We got our masks on Amazon for $4 each. I ended up looking like a professional wrestler! This is the same tux I wore for our first TA in 2008  IMG_3408.thumb.jpeg.0951af2baac4bf19c4f13a2b82ceec53.jpeg

Amazon helped us too with the last two sailings.

Looking forward to wearing them again. Maybe another order to add more to Gala Wear.

    Thank you John

Our fourteen day cruise in July had a couple of shorties in it. The ambiance did change to a more party atmosphere Kiel back to Southampton  but as I recall, not much changed as far as evening dress was concerned. In fact I'd go so far as to say a shortie often seems to bring out the 'formal' wear as folk want to scrub up to the occasion.

    Agree!

I had passengers that were looking forward to really enjoying themselves with even some of the Dear Ladies dressing to the Nine's with their Mens. Even the Men, we were conversing about what color ties we would use on Formal - Gala Evening to dress up the evening on a shortie in July. I was so happy to see that even though minority feeling, they truly wanted to honor the QM2 with style.

Or even a mathematician, but then that would rule me out!

I didn't follow fellow passengers' dress that closely but this year, I would say not much has changed, Gala dress wise. There were definitely more chaps without jackets [non Gala evenings] around the ship but that didn't detract from the overall ambiance.

I think it depends on the type of sailing one is taking.

Our last September Quebec (NYC-NYC) reminded me of the old QE2 days. Very special voyage we looked forwarded to and all enjoyed themselves. And the dress code was hard to find anyone that wanted to violate it. A Classic sailing.

It was a challenge two months ago on the 4th of July - type of party cruise - with the dress code which we noticed many, many newbies were on board. We forgave them since being new, they didn't understand the concept and feelings we personally have for the Dear Queen 2. This is what prevents us from wanting to experience another vessel without the Mary 2 feel.

Our next voyage will be interesting in 500+ days Caribbean Style and what we will see and experience.

In March, there will be a certain attraction away from vacations and holidays to book this sailing.

I think French Toast is what our family calls 'eggy bread'. I've had many different takes on eggy bread around the world, some good, some not so. One of the factors is the actual bread used. The bread I buy here is quite different from the bread served in some US hotels. Could be a contributing factor to the variations.

True..... Our French Toast is Eggs, milk or cream, freshly grated cinnamon and some day or two old bread. Some put a little butter in too. But the coating is egg, you're right.

We use with White Bread or Challah Bread.

I have just read the comments with great interest because my DH and I have a deposit on a June QM2 cruise to Norway next year—our first with Cunard.  I am doubly excited because we had to cancel a QV cruise that leaves tomorrow.  Anyway, we will be in a QG suite, and I expect we will enjoy the food there and in other venues.  Food is so subjective, but I usually enjoy food that has been cooked for me.  In any case, I appreciate all the comments.

    Dear Escrick,

Welcome to Cunard and the QM2.

So happy you will be experiencing the Queen on the Norway Sailing next year. We did it on the QE2 and is one of the memorable voyages in our sailing trips next to the Panama Canal. A Trip to Remember. Make sure you take a lot of memory in your camera for those keepsake photos.

Many on Cruise Critics will help you along with their suggestions, opinions and comments of their experiences of the trip and just being on board. Your previous cancellation led you a wonderful trip.

The pancakes served in PG tasted like they were full of cornmeal: dry and not good. Most other breakfast offerings were good, especially the fish.

    Good Evening John,

We wonder reading reviews online and the differences other passengers experience, did we sail on the same name ship? Being on the QM2 twice in less than a year, and experiencing both BC and PG, except for that one mechanical situation on the last sailing, we had a wonderful trip on both sailings. With entertainment, food in all the venues and wonderful staff that served us. We do have to admit that we too expect certain needs and experiences we can be critical to notice. But the Queen serves us well and happy to be able to sail on her and always looking forward to the next booked sailing in about 500+ days.

Our guest that accompanied us also enjoyed her experience on the QM2 and could compare it to the other lines out there now including so call Mega Ships. QM2 is now on her considering list in the future.

PS. we did not have a posted French Toast last sailing but they did make for us in BC and was delightful. We are not waffle people. But fully happy with filling breakfast last September.

When we go out of Brooklyn, our kids will drop us off.we are seniors who walk with canes,so I was curious as if there is a special drop off place,so we can be closer to building, and is that after luggage drop off.

Saw videos of lines outside and a long walk from people being dropped off.

This could be a deal breaker for going out of Brooklyn

Should ask the driver to drop you off as close to the entrance due to your limitation and explain to the Pier Staff on the street why you need that close.....All embarkation days are challenging at the entrance of the terminal area.

I plan to give us several hours haha.  I'm not taking any chances! 🙂

As for the hotel, good point about not having much to do the night before.  I will look into other options.  Thanks!

    Yes....

The Belt will be affected when approaching the VZ Bridge since part of it will be closed for the runner thru the streets, but once past, you should not be affected.

We were in St. Thomas about 5 years ago some time after a hurricane came through.  The beaches we would normally go to were still closed so I asked a Taxi driver if he could recommend a beach with a bar that was opened.  He said he had the perfect place.  I believe we drove along the South side of the Island East of Charlotte Amalie. We eventually turn of the main road onto a bumpy dirt road. We stayed on this dirt road for what seemed about a mile.  I remember thinking to myself "where is this guy taking us".  If he killed us we would never be found, LOL. We eventually came to an opening where there a small beach bar with a BBQ serving simple bar food.  For the life of me I can't remember the name of the Bar or Beach.  Does this place sound familiar to anybody?  The best clue is that you had to take this bumpy dirt road for about a mile to get it.

    Thanks,

    David
