  1. And now she's hidden. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and Carole. Roy
  2. This is REALLY early. I hope it isn't for medical reasons. This is Sea Bird next to the docking Noordam: Roy
  3. Sea Bird is a very SMALL ship. She is docked at ICT which is next to the CD dock gangway. Roy
  4. I think Brilliance of the Seas may be a no show. Roy
  5. I may miss it. Still at the fire house and I need to get groceries first. Roy
  6. Today's sunrise is from one year ago today, taken from the Middle School across the street from me. Roy
  7. Slight change of plans today. While the heat will be brutal later I was able to walk in my neighborhood this morning and even retrieve the recycling cart after it had been emptied. Today's sunrise is from one year ago today, taken from the Middle School across the street from me. Roy
  8. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Happy Hump Day. I use paper bags to organize my recycling stuff and appreciate cows for both milk and their meat. I haven't looked at an Etch A Sketch in years. This day in 1679 was truly a great day in history. I've been to Puerto Chacabuco just once; it was the Prinsendam Grand South America in 2019. I'll pass on the salmon. My alternative is Fresh Fruit Medley, Parmesan Crusted Veal Loin, and NSA Vanilla Ice Cream as served on MS Rotterdam VI July 12, 2011, the first dinner of my modern cruising history on HAL It looks like quite a heat wave coming so I'll do most of my walking inside the mall for the next several days, Roy
  9. I'm surprised that there is ANY opportunity to spread ashes on that cruise. There would be very little time spent the required distance from land. Roy
  10. I'll post a couple of photos from what I think was my first visit to Cabo in 2012, but first a little story. It was one of the final ports on a Crystal Symphony cruise that was supposed to be New York to Los Angeles, Supposed to be but a nasty little girl named Sandy had other ideas. Planned departure was supposed to be October 31 and I was in New York a couple of days early. October 30 was a miserable day and my B&B had no power, no internet, and no cell service, I did stop by Crystal's Hospitality desk and learned the port was closed as well as the airports, trains, and most buses, and the ship would bypass New York completely and proceed to the next port, Charleston. Fortunately, a Panera near Penn Station opened October 31 and had power, wifi, and cell service. My resourceful TA had been at work and had devised a plan. While most everything was closed one thing that was open was the car rental area at Laguardia airport. She said "Take a cab to the airport where you have a one way rental reserved to Baltimore. Go home for the night and you have a flight to Charleston tomorrow and a hotel for tomorrow night. I did get on the ship and fortunately from then on things worked. In Cabo I had a very different tour reserved. We drove about an hour north of Cabo to a desert area where we took a driving tour on the back of a huge truck and a stop for a camel ride. I'm in the middle of the photo of the truck and on the camel. Roy
  11. And she's tucked in. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  12. Back on camera. Can't remember how Westie typically docks, if aft to the camera without the Ruby she can make a wide swing. Roy
  13. Now I see her. A very nice day in Juneau. Roy
  14. While I was quite hungry by the time I got out of the doctor's office at least the visit was not bad. The appointment was 10, I went in at 9:45, and was headed out at 9:52. Quite hot today (almost 90 but fortunately low humidity. Roy
  15. Today's sunrise is from one year ago as the sun was coming up over my next door neighbor's house: Roy
  16. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Happy Birthday Father David. Not sure what Bowdler's day is. Lonely need cheering up and I enjoy blueberry muffins. I think you learn a lot in kindergarten but that better include learning to love continuing learning. I've been to Cabo a number of times, sadly the last did not include going ashore, it was on Crystal Serenity for a medical evacuation when we should have been well on our way to Papeete. Henry VII was quite the character. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Apple and Pear Gazpacho, Braised Beef Short Ribs with Roasted Garlic Cloves, and Key Lime and White Chocolate Tart, my first Mariner Embarkation Lunch, served on MS Rotterdam July 12, 2011. Not a pleasant start to the morning today. I have a 10AM doctor for a blood draw, with fasting required. Be delighted to get something to eat after that. Roy
  17. I should be around today. One quick note. Ruby Princess will not be in the picture; she crashed into the dock in San Francisco last week and will get not get anywhere near Juneau this week. Roy
  18. And a zoom. but it's time for the first of my meetings. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  19. @grapau27 is it almost July 11 there. Happy Birthday to Father David. Roy
  20. I think Koningsdam may be a bit earlier than I expected due to not stopping for Tracy Arm. Roy
