  1. Not quite. She has been in Malta but left at the end of June and is now at Elefsis apparently for some additional work. It looks like she goes in service as Celestial Journey on September 2. In the meantime, former Maasdam is now MS Renaissance, sailing for a French startup. She had a major drydock in Brest, and was supposed to go into service June 29. Not sure what the status is; she is circling the UK but the dates do not match that startup date. May be doing an introductory cruise for travel agents or something. @aliaschief grabbed a picture of her in her final days in Brest. Roy
  2. Special prayers today for @smitty34877 & Leo, @summer slope and Bailey, @kazu & Inan, and @Seasick Sailor and Alan, as well as the rest of the injured toe club. Roy
  3. While I usually try to post photos from the actual day, this one isn't. This is November 26, 2019 at Grand Turk. I was on Symphony with Nieuw Amsterdam on the other side of the dock. Since Carnival owns the port their affiliate had priority for the dock and Serenity was tendering because she had the ability to use dynamic positioning. This is Serenity "perched" under Symphony's bow, Roy
  4. For today I have a sunset rather than a sunrise. On July 3 last year Queen Mary 2 visited Bar Harbor: Roy

  6. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Interesting that Dow Jones published it's first index and then presumably took July 4 off. Non-violent civil disobedience is sometimes needed for progress, going back at least when Jesus overturned the tables of the money changers.. I'll pass on the other 2 days, The Gandhi quote will be popular here although people will complain when ships slow down to conserve fuel. I have not been to Stravenger and will pass on the meal. My alternative is Sunset Salad, Chicken Breast with Israeli Couscous, and NSA Strawberry Ice Cream which could have been my choices on July 3, 2002 on MS Zaandam. It will be hot here today. Other than a 4PM church finance meeting, not sure what I will do. Roy
  7. Today's sunrise is from last year on Queen Mary 2. July 2 was a sea day from New York to Bar Harbor: Roy

  9. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, Ann, and Graham. No idea what UFO's are; I suspect there is a logical explanation that we have not yet discovered. I think Special Recreation Day coincides this year with some special World Games in Europe. I try not to forget, but often do. I am likely in the minority on the Goethe quote but I have a feeling character development requires a bit of attention and effort. I wonder if there are special celebrations in Minnesota today. I have not been to Olbia. I'll pass on the meal. My alternative is Tossed Seasonal Greens, Braised Game Hen, and NSA Vanilla ice cream which might have been my choices on MS Zaandam July 2, 2002. Happy Heavenly Birthday to Thurgood Marshall. @ottahand7 do you specifically follow Baltimore events or has that hit National notice? I will take some solace in the thought that miserable person's aftermath were not as bad as might have been. Praying that the death toll stays at 2 but with 3 in critical condition and 25 relatively minor injuries it could have been much worse. Roy
  10. Thank you. I know I've been to the cemetery more than once (the first time with my Halifax relative) and most recently on Blount's Grande Caribe in 2010 but had difficulty finding the photos. Roy
  11. Welcome back @Cruzin Terri. While there are some disappointments I am delighted that you are on the cruise. I think I remember you wondering before hand if you were up to it but it certainly seems that the opportunity do do nothing and have your needs served was exactly the right thing. Roy
  12. I have a sunset today rather than a sunrise. It was taken one year ago today, leaving New York on Queen Mary 2: Roy

  14. Congratulations to our Canadian Dailyites. Thank You Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. I'll celebrate all 3 of the days today (take the wings mild) and love the Ziglar quote. I've been to Halifax many times and have a relative there (I think of him as a cousin although the cousin is actually his mother and he's older than me). You don't really need a tour there, the immigration museum in the same building as the terminal is a destination in itself. I'll pass on the salad. My alternative is Dive-In fries. Roy
  15. I wish they had that in Nassau, New Zealand, and Australia. Roy
  16. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit. Happy Birthday, Canada. Roy
  17. That's a wrap for the week. Thanks Leanne, Lou & Dave, and fellow addicts. Roy
  18. Unfortunately, Quantum is doing about 21kt and Volendam 15. Not so promising. Roy
  19. I may be wrong but am still optimistic: I may be wrong but remain optimistic. St. Herman is one of the tour boats that carries HAL passengers up Tracy Arm. The little blue arrow to the left of St. Herman is a passenger vessel reported by satellite, and according to cruisemapper it is the Volendam, I do not usually look at the webcam till the ship passes Thane, but hope the weather is better than it was when I looked a few hours ago. Roy
  20. I have no sunrise for June 30. I got this 2 years ago yesterday off Crystal Serenity's Panomax Camera" Roy
  21. Happy Friday and Canada Day Eve. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Dixie, and Ann. Happy Birthday Lou (as happy as it can be while in hospital), It sure took a long time for Evolution to be accepted. Not sure about Meteors but I'll celebrate the other 2 days. Interesting quote by Wilde. I've been to Charlottetown about 1995 on a land trip and with Blount Small Ship Adventures in 2019 but I don't think ever on a BHB. I'll pass on the meal today. My alternative is Fruit Ceviche and Grilled Molasses Lamb Chops which I would have enjoyed on MS Prinsendam June 7, 2015 if I had been in the dining room rather than the Pinnacle Grill. Still code Red due to smoke so I;ll soon be off to the mall to walk inside. Roy
