  1. An email from my brother's widow reminded me that this is the 3rd anniversary of his funeral. I think someone thought I had a birthday in late February. Not quite. I remarked then that on February 23-24 I became older than Roger was when he died, 79 years and 8 months. Roy
  2. I would have loved to have been present for the lecture on the Edwin Fox. I visited that ship while on the 2020 World Cruise. Roy
  3. I believe forgiveness is as much to the benefit of the one who forgives as for the one forgiven. Carrying resentment around is toxic. As others have said, forgive and move on. Roy
  4. Sarah's family calls up the question of how many times do you forgive. Happy birthday Ellen. Roy
  5. Today's sunrise is from my 2014 Crystal World Cruise segment Singapore to Cape Town. March 12 was a sea day from Singapore to Jakarta: Roy

  7. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie. Happy Birthday Mitzi and Lenda. Condolences to @Nickelpenny. Wishing Terri good results at the Mayo Clinic. Equal Pay Day should get earlier each year. A salute to the Girl Scouts. I probably should organize what I use as sort of a home office but will probably just decide to call it something else. I like the quote but am willing to wait to find out if it is true. I'll celebrate all 3 of the days in history but especially the one in 1994. Been to Edinburgh a few times but I don't think ever docked in Newhaven. Today's meal is a solid miss for me. My alternative is Pineapple, Kiwi, Strawberry Passion Fruit Cup, Chilled Wild Berry Blend Soup, Broiled New York Strip Loin Steak, and Carrot Cake with Lemon Curd as served on MS Prinsendam March 10, 2019: A chilly start today but the start of a warmer week. Roy
  8. Welcome aboard. You have just joined. Everyone has a first post. Come back often. Roy
  9. Today's sunrise is from my 2018 Crystal World Cruise. On March 11 Crystal Symphony visited Alofi, Niue: Roy

  11. Thank you Rich, Jacqui, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, and Dixie, wishing healing for Jacqui, Happy Birthday to Sue, and a wonderful house warming for Morgan. Strange but when I googled 311 it came up with a music group but I knew what it should have been and Graham nailed it. We have it in at leas most of Maryland, and it is a godsend for our 911 operators. While we are tired of Covid it is not tired of us. Every day should be debunking day. Two sad days in history. I had a few more days on QM2 before Cunard decided the World Cruise could not go on. People who declared they could not fly were permitted to stay on board to Southampton operating as a "commercial ship" with bare minimal services but most of us were put up in hotels until they could arrange flights for us. I have sailed to/from San Pedro on Crystal several times and once from Long Beach on Carnival Inspiration. The cruise terminal there is the original hanger for the "Spruce Goose". The meal looks interesting. My alternative is Grandma's Chicken Noodle Soup, Veal Parmigiana, and Ricotta Raspberry Tart as served on MS Prinsendam March 11, 2019: A chilly and very windy day here. Roy
  12. Bon Voyage to both but especially Kathi, it's been a long and difficult wait and you deserve a fabulous cruise. Roy
  13. Another silent BHB sailaway. Thanks Leanne, Dave, and fellow addicts, and welcome back Kathi. Roy
  14. I have a sunset today and it's from my Covid-shortened World Cruise Segment on Queen Mary 2, from Sydney to Perth instead of New York. On March 10 we visited Adelaide, and as the sun was setting there was an almost magical reflection of the sun on the doors to Kings Court.: Roy
  15. I think this is one I haven't posted before.

  17. Thank you Rich, Vanessa, Debbie, Ann, Dixie, and Grahan/Father David, and may Jacqui feel better quickly. I’m not aware of any dailyites who celebrate Ramadan but if there wishing you the best. I’ll definitely celebrate check your batteries day. I would be happy to do away with Daylight Savings time, sunset is already getting later and I like it. I would not want to go to permanent DST; it would leave many of our children walking to school or waiting at bust stops in total darkness for most of the period that’s now standard time. The Home Rule Act had it’s benefits but I think also led to many years of horrible civil war. I like the quote but it seems less significant with the advent of e-readers. My relationship with Alexandria is kind of a long story. In 2007 I booked a largely forgettable cruise on Silver Whisper from Athens to Dubai and we had an overnight stop in Safaga, Silversea was very delayed in sending me documentation which included tours including a tour to the Valley of the Kings which had to be booked in advance so I was stuck for 2 days later in a town with very little to offer. I wanted to see those sites so in 2010 I booked a Nile Cruise out of Cairo which offered a lot but I was exhausted from the flight to Cairo, and did not look at my welcome packet in time to take advantage of a pre-tour to Alexandria, and I finally did that with a cruise from Athens to Rome on Crystal Serenity in 2010, which included an overnight in Alexandria. I’m ambivalent about the meal, and there’s also a bit of as story about my alternative. It’s all from the Prinsendam, Lido salad, Dive Inn Burger, and Lido strawberry ice cream as served on MS Prinsendam March 10, 2019. We had an overnight in Manaus, and I had booked a performance at the Opera House which came during the dinner hour so most of the meal came from the Lido before the tour, followed by the ice cream once we returned, Roy
  18. Thank you but it's actually @richwmn who does the heavy listing, compiling all the fleet locations, days, quote, food and drink suggestions, destination, and days in history. Roy
