  1. I have seen the list of spirits for the Deluxe Drink Package, but I am wondering what people are *actually* served on ships right now. Are premium spirits available, or is RC defaulting to cheaper spirits as a cost cutting measure? I don’t mind paying for a premium drink, but I want to make sure that I am actually getting what I am paying for. Thanks for any first hand current knowledge you can share!
  2. Thanks for the response! Interesting to note your thoughts on the Royal Caribbean drink selection. We are going on an RC cruise in May and have the same concern. Is it really worth it to have the drink package? We like to enjoy ourselves on our vacations, but if we can’t get the drinks we want, that will be disappointing and a waste of money to have the drink package. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  3. Can you please tell me if the Martini Bar is stocked with the premium liquors? Or are they making the martinis with Tito’s and other well spirits? We have upgraded to Premium from AI/Classic on Equinox (granted, not til Nov./23 sailing), but don’t want to pay the up charge if they aren’t even stocking the premium vodkas and gins we have paid for.
  4. My 81 year old mom came with us on a cruise to Alaska last summer (5 months post knee replacement) and was a little slower than usual (still needed a Walker, as she waited for knee replacement #2), but she had a wonderful time! The hardest part was getting her up the ramp in Juneau, but the staff were amazing and pushed her up in a wheelchair. Enjoy your cruise!
  5. Everyone has answered the blankets and hot drinks question, but I have one to add…I was offered hot soup when viewing the glacier from the Eclipse in 2019. This year, of course, may be different.
  6. I would HIGHLY recommend doing your cruise out of Vancouver vs Seattle. From Vancouver cruises go between Vancouver Island and the mainland of BC. From Seattle, cruises go on the west side of Vancouver Island and the seas are much rougher. As far as excursions, you really should try and see some of the beautiful countryside. My. Roberts tram…bus to Mendenhall glacier…are not expensive and provide amazing views without the cost of expensive adventure trips. I have been lucky enough to do multiple Alaska cruises because I live an hour from Vancouver. But I have tried to see it the inexpensive way so I can go more often!
  7. I’m sorry they didn’t go along with it. That sucks.
  8. I would try to call back and see if you can reprice as cruise only and ask for the remainder in OBC. All they can say is no, but I think it’s worth a try. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  9. Just trying to compare to what I know and have experienced, that is all.
  10. Thanks! That is much cheaper than Celebrity martini bar prices.
  11. I’m looking for prices for a vanilla latte, double espresso, dirty Martini with Tanqueray gin, and a lemon drop martini. Thanks!!
  12. None of the bars have any menu or pricing on my app. Knowing the cost of drinks on Celebrity, the drink package on RC is actually a good deal for us…if the prices are the same. If drinks are cheaper on RC, then it definitely is not worth it for us, but we are considering it because we will likely not be spending much time in port.
  13. Can anyone please tell me the cost of drinks, or have pictures of drink menus so that I can compare package pricing with a la carte prices? We usually sail on Celebrity, but our next cruise is on the Brilliance. Thanks.
  14. If you check my original response in this thread, you will see that I did take this tour and described my thoughts in post #4. My friend, Lauren, is a private tour guide with whom we have toured many times. You can find her webpage if you Google Unlock Italy. She should be able to put together a tour for you.
  15. What would you like to see or do in Tuscany? It is a HUGE area, so setting a specific goal would be good. I know a private tour guide who could do a tour for you, but knowing what you’d like to see or do would help me make recommendations.
  16. I have done the Tuscan Farmhouse excursion…by accident. The Celebrity staff put me on the wrong bus! The excursion itself was fine, and you do get to see a lot of the Tuscan countryside on the bus ride to the farm. The carriage ride was ok…just a straight line along the “driveway” past their truffle forest and pastures. Lunch was typical Tuscan fare…red and white wine, tagliere (charcuterie), two types of pasta, and cantuccini (biscotti) for dessert with Vin Santo. After lunch you had opportunity to purchase wine, of course. I believe we were at the farm for about 90 minutes, so it seemed a very short time compared to the 90 minute drive each way…particularly when we were staying about 20 minutes from the farm for the two weeks after the cruise.
  17. Thank you, I will try and find that email address. I had thought about a blow up bed, but my grandson is very “active” when he sleeps, so that may not work. He was in the NICU when he was born and already moved around in his bassinet! LOL!
  18. Hello everyone! Our son and DIL have invited us along on their 5th Anniversary cruise to Alaska on the Brilliance. We will be looking after our 1 year old grandson while his mom and dad are out on excursions, but we would like to rest/nap in our Jr. Suite instead of their inside cabin. Does anyone know if we could request a pack and play for our cabin, or should we just bring ours from home? Our S&DIL already have sleeping arrangements made for their son in their own cabin, but we are on different decks and they are forward, we are aft, so it isn’t practical to move the bed from one cabin to the other every time a nap is required. Any advice?
  19. Wira and Razvan weren’t on our sailing, but Gede was! He and Dewa were known as “The Bali Boys” and put on a great show every evening. 😃
