  1. Not for me. When I go to the website, for a second it looks good, then it defaults to the greyed out screen with the spinning wheel. The "log in" isn't on that page for me. It is there when I'm on the site incognito.
  2. I still can't access with Chrome. Can get there incognito, or on Edge, however.
  3. still getting the greyed out screen with the spinning circle
  4. Generally speaking, I'm in the "longer is better" camp. So whichever cruise is longer would (most likely) win. 2nd consideration is ports of call - if there are ports I want to visit on one but not the other that would win. 3rd consideration would be cost.
  5. We only take passports ashore if it's required to have them on us while there. Otherwise, they stay onboard, in the safe. Ship's card and photo ID works.
  6. Yeah, that's what we did, crossing both international date line and the equator the same day of the Vernal Equinox.
  7. When we did LA/Hawaii/Tahiti several years ago, it was a special crossing and we got this:
  8. It depends on the turnaround port country's laws. Generally, if the turn around port is in the US, the ship has to be cleared before new boarding can begin. Other countries, it may or may not be required.
  9. Now I wish I could check my booking without jumping through hoops (website is a mess for me, doesn't connect, can't log in, yuck). I believe we have HIA with Elite beverage package included.
  10. A DISTANT foreign port (in the eyes of the PVSA) is any port that is NOT in North America, Central America, the Bermuda Islands, or the West Indies (including the Bahama Islands, but not including the Leeward Islands of the Netherlands Antilles, i.e., Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao). Vancouver is in North America.
  11. Exactly. This was my first thought when I read that post. It's not rare that a cruise line will allow B2B bookings that actually turn out to be illegal. Then they contact you later and say "cancel one leg". Often when you will wind up losing money with other travel plans tied to the B2B.
  12. It's still not working for me. I'm able to get there using incognito, and Edge works for me (neither of which are what I used to use to access the site).
  13. I don't see cruising (especially long ones) as a "lower-cost way to see the world". I've been on several long cruises, and by day 25 I'm ready to be back home. Of course, that hasn't stopped me from taking longer cruises than 25 days.....
  14. It's difficult to let them hear from us, if we can't get through on the website.
  15. I did a search on one of the travel insurance comparisons websites when we were looking for one.
  16. If that's where you provide a routing number from your bank account to pay for the cruise, then there was at least one other cruise line that did that - Vantage (yeah, I know, look what happened with that). We could get a varied discount (lower percentage the closer to cruise) if we used that method, OR we could use a credit card with no discount.
  17. I'm curious as to what they're considering "driving distance". With 7 days notice, you can pretty much drive anywhere.
  18. When we went (some years ago) we needed no visas. But things can change.
  19. Third party insurance. It costs less and, generally, has better coverage.
  20. You'll see all manner of dress on any given night, "formal" night or otherwise.
  21. I'm firmly in the "longer is better" camp. So I'd be looking at the 8 night one.
