  1. Yes this does work. Unfortunately I have to do it each time I want to log in which I've never had to do on any other website.
  2. CELEBRITY MOVE UP TRACKER Ship: Apex Length of Cruise: 12 nights Cruise Sail Date: Oct 17th Date email offer received: just used the moveup option on the website Captain’s Club Tier: Select Booked through Celebrity Direct OR via TA: Direct Current Cabin:6192 Inside Cabin Bid? Yes/No:Yes If YES - Bidding Details: £230 per person for an Edge Stateroom with infinite veranda Cabin Category: Edge Stateroom with Infinite veranda Bid Offer: £230 per person Notification Date: 23/09/22 Accepted / Rejected Accepted General Comments (offer details, etc.) Noticed it had gone to Pending but greyed out yesterday but didn't want to think this was necessarily a good sign as the same thing happened on my RCI cruise earlier this year and it didn't mean anything. But just got the confirmation. Really happy to be paying £460 to go from an inside to a balcony.
  3. HI No - I'm looking mainly at Tuesday 25th Oct. I'm definitely doing a bus trip into Jerusalem on the Monday as we have an overnight.
  4. Hi Just wondering if anyone decided to stay in Ashdod as part of their cruise? We have an overnight stay and as there are no shore excursions left and no availability on independent tours such as Guided Tours Israel we don't have as many options. We are going to go to Jersualem on the first day as there is no rush back via the bus. But on the second day I dont' want to venture too far away and be reliant on public transport. Half of me thinks we get a taxi to the bus station and catch a bus to Tel Aviv for a few hours and then the other part wonders if there are enough things in Ashdod to warrant a walk around? Has anyone done this? Or is there anywhere else relatively local that is easy to get too? Thanks
  5. My "doing my head in" was less about how to do the test, it's just the fact that you don't really feel at ease until you get those negative tests. PLus if you are already abroad then that's an additional worry, plus the desire to isolate yourself before flying out. I have done it several times over the past year and find the proctored tests okay and relatively straightforward.
  6. To answer your question - No - it hasn't changed and it's doing my head in 😉 I don't want to book tests until the end of Sept for our cruise on 17th. We will be in Italy 3 days before the cruise. Would be nice if the daft rule about cruise over 9 days could be dropped too.
  7. Hi I'm busy searching my e-docs for our Oct cruise and can't see any reference to alcohol or wine? Are you talking about the Guest Booklet - or something else? Thanks
  8. I guess you're probably in Corfu Town by now, but for anyone reading this at a later date, there is a hop on hop off option at the small terminal building. The building is a 10 min walk from where you are likely to be docked. There are two routes - one that goes around the town and one that goes out to the Achillion Palace which is nice and has lovely gardens. Corfu town is very walkable and a good way to spend a few hours. Hope you're having a good time despite the bumps on the road.
  9. HI - just wanted to say that I will be enjoying your blog here but am sorry that the start of your trip in Rome has been a "bit of a mixed bag". Having a bad culinary experience near the Vatican is really a badge of honour 😉 On my first visit, my pasta dish was presented still in its microwave cardboard container lol. I'm sure it is a relief to get the test out of the way. Waiting with baited breath to see if they change the rules again before I need to do the same in Sorrento next month. Hope you have some fun things planned in Rome before getting on the ship.
  10. Thanks all - still contemplating which package to go for... but thinking kids package as she isn't going to benefit from the non alcohol one as she doesn't drink coffee related products.
  11. Going on the Apex in a month's time with my daughter and wondering whether to get her the soda package or the kids package. The kids package lists that it includes milkshakes, smoothies and slushies but when I look through the menus on the app I don't see any bars that do these. Did you spot these?
  12. Agree - did this a few months back. It's the best option as some of those streets in the old quarter are pedestrian only - so the hotel front desk can confirm exact pick up point. Not too expensive either.
  13. I'm going to be travelling with my daughter( 12). I'm guessing I can bring 4 bottles ( 2 per guest) as there is no stipulation that the guest has to be over 18/21.
  14. I took a closer look at the T&Cs and the onboard credit part of the offer only started, if memory serves me right, around 21st July - the saving on fare started in early June. So fair enough.
  15. Just to say that I managed to get through to Celebrity UK and they cancelled my original booking and I was able to go straight in and rebook and get the $800 OBC. It's now showing on my Celebrity account with a £657.76 OBC - so thinking that the terrible UK exchange rate is working in our favour for once 😉 Just to confirm that I have lost the £300 deposit but happy to take that hit. Worth other UK cruisers checking that out if you are pre final payment as the offer apparently ends tonight.
  16. Thanks for your rational thinking as that's help me with my plans. 😉 I think I'll give them a call and see if they will be happy to rearrange, otherwise I will be happy to accept the £300 loss for the 800 dollar OBC. I took the cruise only option so would have been spending money on drinks for myself and a few shore excursions ( I'm sailing with my pre teen daughter so it wasn't worth it to do the all inclusive for her).
  17. Thanks - yes the cruise is the same cost as when I booked it a few weeks ago.
  18. Hi Wonder if you could give me a bit of advice. I've booked a 12 night Apex cruise for October but notice that it now has a $800 onboard credit - although it says it relates to cruises booked and deposited in the UK from 8th June - this wasn't on offer at the time. I think I'm right in thinking if I cancel my current booking, I will kiss goodbye to the £300 deposit but would gain an 800 dollar onboard credit if I rebook before tomorrow ( offer ends tomorrow)?
  19. Yes - it's looking that way for me too. Been several days since the grand suites vanished on my sailing and it still says pending on that one bid - but no email etc.
  20. THanks I'll look into this. I went to Helsinki with work some years ago and went over to Suomenlinna island which was fun but will investigate that non City Sight Seeing bus as it sounds handy.
  21. Enjoying the review so far - flying off to Stockholm to join the Voyager next weekend. Really interested to hear about the options for transfer from ports to central town in Helsinki, Tallinn and Visby ( if you did those ones). Interested in hear about the food and shows too 😉
  22. Thanks for the responses everyone. I've checked my credit card but nothing showing. I'm on the Voyager of the Seas - so suspect we won't be sailing at anything like full capacity as it's one of those Baltic cruises. I looked back and had thought I'd put in a minimal bid but turns out the minimal was £90 each and I'd bid £155 each. I'll be sure to come back and give an update.
  23. So went in this morning to look at my sailing and all the suites are now unavailable ( there had been about 20 grand suites still available a few days ago. Popped over to my bid and three of my bids are now expired and the grand suite one is pending. Am I getting my hopes up here that I've been allocated one of those grand suites? Anyone got any experience of this. I would have thought all would have been expired if I'd been unsuccessful. Cruise is in 13 days time.
  24. I'm doing a similar journey - I'm on the Apex but will be at Ashdod on the Monday and Tuesday. I'm also "biting the bullet" and think I'll get a taxi from the port to the main bus station and then catch a bus to Jersualem. It doesn't look too bad 1hr 10. The way I look at it is that it's about the same amount of hassle as getting into Rome on your own from Civitavecchia. We're going to do it on the first day of our overnight, so there is no stress with getting back on time. In fact I'm also looking at whether to get another bus from the station to the Dead Sea 😉 Like you I've been to Israel on a DIY trip a few years back so feel confident that we can handle this.
