Because it is their money and they have choices...
Thank you! :)

Thank you. Will definitely consider Victor Bodden tours if this excursion is sold out.
I already visited Maya Key's website and this excursion is only available through the cruiselines. I wouldn't have a problem booking it but don't want to add to my credit card right now. (Long story, as we've had issues with RCCL and bookings before.)
I hope to book this once onboard.
Thanks for the info! :)

We're planning on doing the Maya Key excursion in Roatan (Liberty of the Seas, June 19th.)
Has anyone ever had issues with an excursion being sold out once onboard?
I didn't realize excursions had to be paid upfront on RCCL. We're wanting to use our OB credit.
Thanks!

Thank you everyone! :)

We'll be sailing Liberty of the Seas June 19, and I have a cocktail-length red satin dress that I was planning to wear formal night. In fact, it's just like the dress in my avatar photo, (same style as the blue one.) However, that photo was taken in February.
Thanks! :)

I agree, I think social media has changed the shape of socialization online in so many ways. I think all "message boards" in general aren't as popular as they were 10 years ago. Social media is a format where replies, though not anonymous, all for more of a direct connection and fast, more flowing conversations. Plus, people are often there more frequently, causing responses to be more readily provided.
Exactly! (Count me as one who loved the old message boards, but now love the new social media formats even more.)

If you go down on to the bottom you see a link for the 2016 FB roll call. From there you set up your meet and greet at FB.
Now I can see why this is not something CC would want to do but if their roll call threads are not as active as they use to be ... this seems like a win/win for the cruise lines.
And CC could certainly advertise on those threads, to bring traffic over here :D
Like button! :)

Most successful roll call that I've had was on Disney Fantasy. That roll call was moved to F---b---. It was fabulous - we got to know each other by real names and faces. Many became friends on that site. We got to know each other through personal relationships and parties joined up for dinner reservations too. Years later, I am still friends with some of those great men and women.
I get that CC doesn't want to loose traffic to other sites, and today I'm not sure that FB is the be-all end-all social media hub but many still use that site. I don't understand why CC can't offer an extension to FB that can link from here. CC can create the roll call there so that those who join an official CC roll call (just hosted everywhere).
Agree! (And, I'm not a millennial, or a 'young' cruiser. I'm almost 59, and appreciate F___B___.) Technology is technology. I send texts, take photos and post them, but I do answer my phone, LOL. And the most successful groups for cruise meets and meet and mingles for our family, were through F___B___. Someone from this forum (a few mos ago, on NCL boards) took the risk and posted a link. We met (noontime) the first sea day, and not only organized slot-pull and pub crawl, but also dined together in the steakhouse one night. Meet and mingle on forums might be losing popularity the same way the typewriters lost to computers (there are tons of comparisons.) It's a personal choice though.

Not Being allowed to share messages on other social media has really slowed things down for me at least. My only other cruise a few years ago, there was also a closed private FB group that was really active and fun prior to the cruise. In fact many of us are still in contact, and have holidays together a few times since.
Thank you! This is SO TRUE!
I know we can't mention the social media site, but my family and I are still in touch with at least 10 families whom we met NOT from THIS forum, but from links that were provided here (and on the DISboards forums, same link.)

We'll be on Liberty of the Seas in June.
Thanks! :)

Your Z-pack would be cheap at home because of insurance....the ship takes no insurance! You will pay the bill, and submit it later, if you have travel insurance, or to your own company...
Just picked up a Z pack today at Walmart in Dallas it was $13.33 with no insurance. Also I had to get the same meds 6 years ago on a RCCL cruise and paid close to $100 for a Z pack.

Always.
I'm too worried about my card falling out of my shorts if I sit down. Even though I know I can replace it, it's too much of a hassle. I put it in my small purse though, at night.
My husband though, puts it in his pocket.
I wear my Disney Cruiser one.:D

Cruising is our favorite way to vacation so we'll leave it at that. Now that we are both retired it's time to start living. Worked hard know it's time to play harder.
Love your way of thinking :) 12 more years of work for me.

They also offer 20% discounts when on the ship.
20% off the pre purchase price?
-
Thank you ....exactly what I was looking for:)

It has been 10 years since we cruised on RCCL and will be on the Liberty this summer. Does RCCL offer a similar pre pay specialty dining package like Norwegian does?
TIA

We were on Adventure of the Seas nine years ago.
I remember in one of the shops (where they sold toiletries) there was slide refrigerator (similar to convenience stores,) which sold 20-oz. bottles of Coke, diet Coke etc.
Are they still available?
We're sailing Liberty of the Seas this summer.
Thanks!

Thank you for all of your replies, everyone. :)
I PMd him to call RCCL soon.

This will be our first RCCL in nine years. We received an OBC for each of the two rooms we booked (sweet surprise.) I'm encouraging my brother and his family (who haven't sailed RCCL yet) to book. Are they eligible for OBC?
We booked directly with RCCL.
Thanks! :)

Loved your review and your humor! This also answered any questions about sailing to Jamaica. Think we'll stick with other itineraries.

Thank you so much for your time posting all this info. We will be on the Dawn in 8 days and this info has helped us plan our specialty dinning and night time activities.
-
We will be on the Dawn in 2 weeks so any advise would be great.

I called 3.5 weeks out. They were very nice!
did you get an up sale?
Does anyone know if Joy will have a sister ship?

Saw that it is exclusively for Asia. Am hoping there will be one like her, sailing out of Florida.
