We've cruised only out of Galv. till now. This is our first cruise on NCL. Can anyone tell me what time is best to show up at Bayport terminal? Thank you so much!
Good question...we showed up around 12:15 and it was a ZOO trying to get the car parked and then getting in the line to get inside the terminal took 35 minutes. Once inside to get through security and checked in was about 30 minutes. So next time we will be showing up earlier.

I also thought a mini suite was not worth it for the little extra room and a bit larger bathroom. I don't need a double sink in the ships bathroom as its tight anyways for two people to fit and the little extra room inside isn't really much for two people, if you have three/four people in the stateroom, then I say go for it.
Definitely not worth the $240 that I would have to pay just for a double sink...lol. $240 will pay for some of the nicer dinners!

You get a bigger bathroom ( double sink) and Shower with multiple jets.
If that is all I get for $120pp I will stick with my balcony room.
-
I have a Balcony booked right now but for $120pp I can up grade to a mini suite. After reading the NCL web site it looks like the only difference is 10 sq/ft- can anyone tell me if there is any other differences? This will be on the Getaway.
TIA

Thank you all, for your replies! :)

I'm having issues with my laptop right now with the NCL site, and can't get beyond the first page to find this.
Thank you. :)

For both of my cruises last year, I booked exactly at midnight every show and restaurant that we wanted.
Great!
-
Correct. Correct. Teppanyaki.
Also remember that only less than half of tables are bookable online so if some restaurant and time isn't available, you can still probably book it onboard on embarkation day.
So does the booking window open after midnight on the 90th day?
-
Let me see if I have this correct. At the 90 day window I can start to book the specialty/up charge dining on line? and I do not have to be paid in full? Which ones fill up the fastest?
TIA

Lobster Roll on the Breakaway! :)
I am really hungry now!!!

I'm pretty sure they meant UDP. According to NCL the 20% discount comes to those with the UDP.

Thats what I figured but this is our first NCL cruise.

According to the dailies, Ocean Blue on the Waterfront is only open from 12-2 on sea days. It is an a la carte restaurant, but if you have the UBP you get 20% off.
So you are saying that if you have the unlimited beverage plan you get 20% off? You did not mean the unlimited dining plan?
-
Is that like a lunch a la carte thing or do you have to pay the $39 cover plus $10 on top?
The rolls are served from 12-2 on deck at the water front/ocean blue counter service..from what I have figured out from reading the boards and the NCL web site.
-
Which Restaurant can you get a lobster roll in?
Ocean Blue outside service. Looks to be $10 ea from what I have seen.
-
Top notch lab-stah rolls but not weighed down in thick mayo.
We had them every day that they were available - sea days from noon til 2, I believe!
Don't miss them!

To much Mayo "white death" will kill a lobster roll.
-
We will be on the Getaway in May and saw that they have lobster rolls. We are use to "Maine" lobster rolls ...are these made with Maine lobster or another type? More than will to pay the up charge for a good lobster roll...what did you think of the taste and quality?
TIA

Not called "Dress up or not" for quite awhile. It's called "Norwegians' night out" but principle is the same: only dress up if you feel like it.
How many "Norwegian's night out" nights are there, on a 7-day? (1or 2?)
Thanks! :)

Photo #24, what beach (and port) was that, with the inflatable water-slide?
Thank you! :)
-
Once you hit the 90 day mark, you can book online
This explains why I can not find a way to book it as we are 128 days out.
-
How do you book the specialty restaurants? Can you book them on line or do you have to wait until you get on board?
TIA
-
Just going to throw this out there for all you bloody marry drinkers...try the brand finest call, they have some great stuff...try the loaded one :)
-
The gratuity is included and you do not need to add an additional tip.
Thanks for the reply
-
We are doing our first NCL cruise and when we booked we received the unlimited beverage plan. I pretty much understand the plan but is the usual 15% tip included or do you need to tip every time you order a drink?

If you end up going to Costa Maya grab a $3 cab ride and head to the Tropicanti ...check trip adviser for reviews...great place and is owned by an American from Texas.

Beating the crowds is a BIG CONCERN for my family...we always look for the best time of day to embark the ship.
