Looking at Nov.sailings,think that 11 day is Oct?Have one in June already,so like little break between them. Such a problem,I know.haha.

have these ports been inc.in past? Or just no one have any comments or ideas about this one? May have to wait till THIS yrs. Nov.cruise to get a review.:confused:

from Monte Carlo, stops in Elba,Sardinia,Spain, France,and ends in Barcelona.

Offered this yr.Nov 12,but thinking of NEXT. Anyone on this one coming up?Can you review when you get back.

Have been on Sojourn before.Also been to Barcelona,but rest of ports new to me. Shore exc.sound good.

We are scheduled to go in the Viking Sineus sept. 7 from Bucharest with 2 days in Odessa. 2 Viking reps told me there's no trouble there but I should write a letter...very nervous...no travel insurance....any ideas?

Just a note re.my river cruise.We spent 2 days in Bucharest and 1 day in Constanta.Did NOT go to Odessa so not sure about the safety there,sorry.But we felt safe and had a great time in these 2 cities.

Is it possible to just stay on boat if you feel uncomfortable,not sure of your itinerary.We took Scenic and it was just superb.

I DID call again.The Nov.2015 that I was looking for is no longer avail.next yr.Wanted the 15 day from BA to Valpariso.

Will ck.out SB but think it may be too long.Only one close I found so far is Oceania(16 day) or then down to mass market lines.Which I really don t care for anymore.Regent, is 20 days(not retired yet and take 2, 2 wk .vac.a yr.),So sort of limited.

Don't know who you were talking with, but SS does go to S America in '15. The Shadow does a complete circumnavigation and the Cloud does the Amazon.

Can you tell me WHERE you found this info,,on the web I only see ones for 2014 and when I called SS the agent looked on HIS computer to tell me NOT DOING S.A.next yr.and took my email to let me know IF they ll do it in 2016.

It should be noted that the lead of this suit was actually on an Evergreen tour, a subsidiary of Scenic.

Also, agree with Host s comments.We were concerned about this,but went anyway and absolutely the BEST river ship,cruise,etc.in 10 previous river cruises with all the top companies.

So we got good travel ins. and LOVED IT.Even booked another next yr.After that Scenic experience it would be difficult to go back to another line.

That being said the company should do ALL it can to make the customer happy and feel that episode was not handled well.

But wonder about those small ports, is it mostly adventure type exc.?

One question, you say the Somme battlefields was a long trip starting at 8am,how long was the bus ride and when did you get back?Was it a scenic ride at least.My DH wants to do this,but not Normandy ,since we already have been there.

May I offer some advice re docking space. To be on safe side,and learn from my past experience.DO CONTACT river company directly for latest info and get your ships phone number.These things can change at last minute and I almost missed a ship because of it.Get specifics,not general dock info.It can be VERY confusing.

Have fun and let us know all the details.

My DH is little over 6 ft.and found the shower in jr.suite on Scenic Saphire ok,with a little room left over.Not sure if similar in reg.rooms or on different ships. About same size BR as small O ships.Same goes for mattresses.

He can bend over or hunch up on bed,but DO give Scenic a try.Best one,so far.

I agree river cruising GREAT,but for first timer,may I suggest you do shorter cruise per se with more pre and post time in city you desire.I say this because SOME people actually do NOT like the experience(ship small,etc)and often complain they re STUCK for another wk. I always think they must not have really researched all the available info prior to booking.

I prefer one in bathroom and bought my own for Insignia PH in Oct.

Mine just sticks on mirror,come in various sizes.

Sure would LOVE a lighted,mag,mirror in BR,,,Oceania,,just HINTING.Did put that under comments.;)

If that is a REAL concern, can always buy "cancel for any reason"ins.when you book the trip.

If you read the fine print on almost any cruiseline,so many alternatives,like bus rides,switch boats,etc....

In 11 river cruises over as many yrs.,,,this has never happened(thank heavens).So I realize things do happen,hope for the best, and just carry on.We get regular travel ins.and in 25 yrs. have never used it.

So I go by itinerary first,then cruiseline,since I ve been to most rivers now and look forward to new ones coming up.Also like to try new boats in same line,ea.seems different depending on country,crew,etc.

That being said,did book another with Scenic for next yr.since I REALLY liked the perks on their ships and seemed the best deal for the money for top of the line cruise.In this case,I DID GET what I paid for and worth every penny.But that does NOT rule out taking another line in future.;)

I DID post a review under this thread(do search here)and also read under member reviews.Went last month and LOVED it.

Do a little research here on CC and will find a few new ones.This is a new company to the US.so not as many have been on it to post.

To summarize,out of all the major river cruises,this was my FAVORITE and will be taking another next yr.Everything is inc.and top of the line.

Sorry;, it will be deleted if you post proper names,know its frustrating.We googled luxury river cruises TA and found a few.Then called and asked perks,checked ref,etc.Found a GREAT one,they give cash back(part of their commission I guess) and offer good service.But I always check to make sure,with cruiseling,online TAs,etc.Then I book with my CC that also gives me benefits.Best of both worlds.

So look around,worth the time .They take care of ALL the details,no downside.Now NEVER book with cruiseline that WONT use TAs.Not worth it.PS. this TA only deals with top of the line ones,like Tauck,Scenic,AMA,etc.not lower end lines.Same with ocean cruises.

you name it ,its inc.Even things you don t think about.Airport pick up(others CHARGE),all tips,drinks,speciality rest,excursions)ALL,not SOME)even butler service,room service,etc.

Out of 11 river cruises on all major brands, this one REALLY was truly all inclusive.Its TRUE,you get what you pay for.This one was worth every penny.Comes out to about the same when you add all the extras into other lines.;)

We were on 1 Scenic river cruise in 2012

the food is better at Mc D's

We also asked for sodium free or low sodium foods ..was assured by HO this would not be a problem never once did any person come talk to us about the menus

I had read your comments and was reluctant,but was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed Scenic food.Even booked another one.Loved the perks,too.Didnt think it was 5star as they say,but 4 to 4 half.

Re.lo sodium. To made it simple I ASKED at dinner EVERY time/waiter.On buffet,just chose what I new ok.Even reminded them for room service and butler always mentioned it after FIRST time.

Hope other readers will give them a try and think they ll be pleasantly surprised ,most luxury on riverboat SO FAR.:)
