  1. I dont think we would ever buy the drink package out right. It is nice with the 123go promo or the BBB. As we go to the Elite events. We get plenty of drinks. We have had the drink package on our last 2 cruises. It is just nice not to have to sign or get a receipt. Is it worth the cost no. Getting OBC as a perk would cover all my drinks bought onboard.

  2. It really is a personal thing. We like C2 cabin 2105 or 2107 on Equinox. Close to the pool and buffet up deck up. We have been booking Aqua A1 cabins now. On the S-class ship we book our cabins center center on deck 11. We like Aqua for the rooms can only hold 2 people and deck 11 does not have any inside cabins. We like the service in Blu very much. 1500 breaks down to 75 pp per day.

  3. Your sea pass card is put in the machine to track your play just like a land based casino. Machines are very, very tight and you have to play a lot to get any rewards.

I got a free t-shirt for putting my seapass card in on one of our cruises. I now keep my seapass card in my pocket, just not worth it.

  4. We did the summit Aug 2015 to Bermuda. We really like our A1 cabin up on deck 11. We were on the port side and could see Kings Wharf. I have booked the same cabin on Millie for January 2017. I thought they were already doing some movies up on deck 12. Well I seem to never here much noise. Oh that is not true. Had a C2 cabin and had kids running down the hall at ten and eleven at night just about every night. We seem to only book Aqua now.

  5. Unless you are willing to wedge that shoe somehow under the door, the door may slide open and closed in swells. Yes, if you put a shoe in the door, it won't fully close, but you could throw anything on the track to do that. You use the bungee cord to tie the door completely open which is the only way to stop it from moving on its own

I did try... I think it was the knife and fork. Well I know the Knife was involved.

As I said we were in cabin 1114 on Summit. We had my nephews in the next cabin and had the divider open to have a larger deck and to visit with them. Eat our lunch and have cocktails.

  6. We were on the Summit in Aug 2015 cabin 1114. Yes I brought and used the bungee cord to keep the door open. The deck doors up on Deck 11 seem different. You have to push the door out from the inside. Then they seem to just be on rollers. The ship was moving and the door was sliding back and fourth. It was the 1st time that I need the bungee cord on a cruise ship.

  7. Our Aqua Class stateroom cost less than a C1 and the same as C2. It is not a price difference, it is stateroom location that our friends are concerned over.

Thanks for the suggestions. We will keep an eye on the inventory!

If you want more help. Your going to have to give us the ship and cabin or cabins in Aqua available. What are the concerns?

We have had Aqua cabin A1 on M-class deck 11 and love it. On S-class we have had Aqua A1 mid ship and loved it. I don't here any noise from the pool or movie nights.

Talk to your Travel Agent. Some travel companies hold cabins that are not deposited. Your TA can call their Celebrity rep and find things out about other cabins that might look booked that are not.

  8. This is what I did for my upcoming Connie cruise. Booked 1116, Sunset Bar is just a few steps away. I will get the full value of my drinks package.

Does Celebrity still allow you to get an unopened can of soda with the package at the bar?

We had cabin 1116 on the Summit in August. We loved the room. We had my nephews next store. We had the balcony divider opened, it was great. Yes you can get unopened cans of soda.

  9. I have not cruised in this area much. But I have done land trips to Muscat, Oman only once. Dubai 3 times and Ada Dubai 2 times, UAE. The people are nice. I went to dinner at a families home in Oman. Bought gold at the Gold souk in Dubai. Shopping and the Aquarium at the Dubia mall. Dubia also has Big Bud tour.

  10. My must have are escargot and creme brûlée every night. The prime rib is great, but that is normally in the MDR and not in Blu. We have in the past not dined in Blu the 1st night and went to Select Dining to have the prime rib. The carpaccio is great. All of the East Indian food at lunch is very good. Lets not forget the French Onion soup and goat cheese souffle.

  11. Hi,

On the M-class ships we are now booking Aqua cabins on deck 11. We love the location. The buffet and bar are down one deck. We take the elevator right down to deck 5 for Blu. Getting to the Sky Lounge we just walk right across deck 11.

On the S-class ships we like the Aqua cabins under the pool. I dont have any problems with the overhang or noise. Also a big fan of C2 cabins on deck 12. Up one floor to the buffet and the pool is right on deck 12.

  12. We have had non elite people in our cabin 2 times. The 1st time they change their seapass card to say elite. On our last cruise with non elite we were told Celebrity would not change the seapass card to elite plus. Captain Club host said it would not be a problem getting into events. I was a bit leery for I have seen people turn away at the Captain Club events for not having elite, elite plus or zenith on their cards. The people at the door are only looking for one thing. What is on the seapass card. We never had any problems. Our next 4 Celebrity cruise it is just us 2.

  13. Hi floralscent,

They do at times have private event in the Sky Observation Lounge. Like the Cruise Critic event. In the past Celebrity has closed the Sky Observation Lounge for the evening Captains Club event held most evening between 5pm to 7pm. Celebrity seems to be opening part of the Sky Observation Lounge now during the Captains Club event.

  14. People are paying a hefty extra charge for booking an Aqua cabin and that's mostly for Blue. If you started allowing anyone in at a cost it's suddenly not so special and most folk would just book a straight balcony and save the money paying a supplement for Blue. Never going to happen.

We have booked Aqua for less than Concierge Class. I like the size of the Blu restaurant and the service.

  15. I was charged Spanish VAT tax on my drink when I boarded in Barcelona in 2012. Then in 2014, I boarded in the same port and I wasn't charged. Both cruises had ports of call that were not part of the EU at the time and I had the premium beverage package. Still can't figure it out.

    Hi Rufferto,

You might try a search on CC. I read that Celebrity does not charge your ships card until they are far enough off shore now.
