We are cruising Sunday on the Eclipse out of Miami. My husband just received an automated call from Celebrity. He couldn't understand all of it, but he did get that it concerned boarding times by deck. If you are on this cruise, can you let me know what the message was? We are Elite Plus and we are on deck 6, if that makes any difference.
Thanks.
Elite Plus you can board when you wish.

We did the Solstice Vancouver to Hawaii last Sept-Oct 2014. The daily when we got on the ship had 2 formal evenings. 3/4 through the cruise they added a 3 formal night. As we are Elite Plus they offered the 6 of us and others 50% off Murano restaurant. We had the private dining room it was great.

I was looking at Late 2016/Early 2017 cruises for X and was surprised to see X moving Connie to Dubai for the season. Looking at what they are charging, I'm not surprised they are doing it though. I hope it works for them.
I've been looking at them for 2017. I have enjoyed my time in the UAE and Oman. I'm think it might be a nice way to see India.

I would say no not like the center of the ship.
We book cabins on Deck 12 aft. We have the overhang above us from the Oceanview Cafe. Your looking at Deck 11 aft. Deck 11 center has the overhang from the pool which is on deck 12.

If you have Select Dining then you must pre-pay your gratuities. Select Dining is the only time you must pre-pay gratuities. So you can not use your OBC.
There are 2 types of OBC. 1 type you will get it credited back to your credit card. The 2nd type it will not be credited back to your credit card.
The rule I go by is if the OBC is from the cruise line use it or lose it. If it is OBC from a TA, friends or yourself then it will be credited back to your card.

Our 1st time booking Aqua class was on a Alaska cruise on Solstice. Aqua class was cheaper then Concierge class. People say they dont like the A1 cabins because of the pool and moving of the chairs above. I have never had a problem with noise. I do like the extra overhang for Alaska weather.

Let me start by saying we are not big drinkers per say, however on a cruise, we do like to enjoy ourselves, after all it is a carribbean vacation! We were on the Connie last January and purchased the Premium Drink package prior to boarding. Initially we were concerned that with so many port days we might not get our money's worth.
Not only did we get our money's worth and more, there were other perks that we didn't anticipate. Aside from no slips to sign etc, often around the pool when a frozen drink started melting often the staff would ask if they could just make a new one. We tried many different types of drinks esp Martinis that we might not have bought otherwise. If we tried a new drink and didn't like it it was replaced with another drink of our choice without question.
In order to show you why we felt this was a great deal I will describe a typical day. Disclaimer... based on this, some may think that we are heavy drinkers...if that is the case , while we appreciate your perspective and opinion please do not comment on our consumption ( this is our first post and we have seen some petty unnecessary replies). The purpose of this information is not to expose our consumption for review and/or public scrutiny, but to demonstrate to those who like to let their hair down a little and are wondering from a ecocnmic standpoint is it worth purchasing a package.
0830-Latte with one and half shots of Bailys..........$10.00
1100-large water...............................................$ 3.50
1230- Frozen drink..............................................$6.50
1430- Beer........................................................$5.00
1600- Frozen drink..............................................$6.50
1800- Glass of wine while dressing for dinner............$10.00
1930- Martini and dancing prior to dinner.................$12.00
2030- Dinner ( 4 different types of wine by the glass as suggested with each course by sommommlier-not all entirely consumed)..$ 40.00
2215- Specialty Coffee..........................................$ 8.00
2300- Dancing/Bar/Show/Casino Cocktail.............................$10.00
2400- Nightcap.(wearever..maybe brought back to balcony) $10.00
Total...$121.50 ( Drink prices are approx by memory-please don't bust me for not remembering exact price..probably cause I drank too much..Ha ha)
Cost per day...$55.00
Remenber this is for one person double the savings when we each bought one!
Only difference on port days was that we had two beers when back on ship as compared to 3 poolside drinks. Many nights we actually stayed out dancing etc later and maybe had another one...or if really hot day at the pool and having fun with poolside neighbors maybe snuck in an extra beer!
If you think this might come even close to a typical carribbean vacation day for you, then you can see what a true value it is. The other convieniences were no slips to sign, bar servers, waiters and sommoliers knowing your preferences and offering drink suggestions and special cocktails that we had never tried before. We told our assit waiter the first night about the specialty coffee and we had it served with our dessert every night...no hassles. It really added to the vacation atmosphere that we enjoy!
Hope this helps!
I have the drink package on our next cruise. I might look at these drink packages different. I compare what I would spend without the drink package and compared that with when I do have the drink package.
I would only see the drink as a savings if I would be buying it anyway without the drink package. If that is what you drink without the drink package then it is a great deal for you.

Today I sat down and checked out the prices for our March 2015 cruise. We are booked in a A1 cabin. Cost with 123go all in, that we paid booking last month before final payment $3640. Today the cost is $3625. Not a big deal and I got the room I wanted. Cost for a A1 cabin without 123go all in is $3200. The prices I give are with all fees, gratuities and OBC. So in the end the drink package for a 7 day cruise is costing $440 for 2 people.
As we are Elite Plus. I can get sparkling wine and other drink at the morning Elite breakfast, normally right next to Blu. I have bottled water in my Aqua cabin. I can get free lattes at Cafe Al Bacio all day. Free drinks most evenings at the Elite Event.
I'm seating back thinking how many more drinks am I doing to drink. I came up with 10 drinks for the whole 7 days. That means each drink is costing me $22.00 per drink. I do not drink soda pop. My other half drinks less than I do.
This will be our 1st time trying the drink package. What I do know is that $440 can go a long why buying drinks. -
I try not to get to the pier until 1pm. Cabins seem to open up about 1 to 1:30pm
-
Thinking about our next cruise with the drink package. The things that I will do different.
I will have wine with dinner the 1st night. Other nights I will go to the Elite Event, but might drink less wine. So I can have a glass of wine with dinner. I will not go to the Captains Party in the theater, because if I want a drink I can get it other places. Sea day I will have 1 pina colada at the pool. The drink package will benefit with 7 drinks that I would normally not have.
-
My vote is 2108. I like being close to the pool and buffet. You can keep the aft cabins. If we all liked the same thing it would be sad.
-
I enjoy the Elite Cocktail Hour. We go up with friends and drink, eat and talk about our day, travels and life. Our next cruise in March we have 123go! All Inclusive. The cost of the cruise was much more. So we cut it to a 7 day cruise and then going to Orlando. Our June cruise we checked the cost difference to change from promo get 2 to getting all 3. Just was not worth the money to added the drink package. As we all know the drink package is not really free.

A question asked purely out of interest, but if you want the same table at 6.30pm every night, why not early dining?
MDR times are normally 6:00 or 6:15, and sometime 5:45. 6:30 gets us in just after the rush. We like going to the Captian's Club event before dinner.
-
We book concierge or Aqua. For us it is mostly about location on the upper decks near the pool and buffet. For us it is worth it.
-
Normally we cruise with 4 to 6 people. In June we will have 9 in our group cruising the Eastern Med in June on Connie. Your ship should have 4 tables of 10 in the Select dining area. Select Dining is deck 5 aft starboard side. I'm planning on emailing my TA when I get back home next week to set up the Select dining times. She will link all 4 cabins together and make the reservations for each night. We normally do 6:30 and get the same table.
-
For us it is the shower and location. We like AC cabins center or center aft on a high deck. We mostly book CC cabins. The spa heated table just not my thing. The food in Blu is ok. The 1st night we usually eat at Select Dining. Blu seems not to do prime rib that often and I like prime rib over a steak. The Kobe meat loaf in Blu was so bad. I always do find something to eat. You can get a steak, salmon or chicken off the left side of the menu every night. The service in Blu is great!! We normally cruise with 4 people in Aqua. We get a table of 4 in Blu. Our next cruise it will just be the 2 of us. So we will see how that goes. The food at breakfast is very good. But the tables of 2 are so close together. I'm not that interested in talking to strangers in the morning over breakfast.
March will be our 3rd try in Aqua. June we are in CC with group of 9 (friends and family). Aug cruise back in AQ with family.
Time will tell what 2016 will hold.

I was checking my reservation and found this when I went to view it.
The requested reservation is currently being modified. Please try again in 20 minutes
Anyone ever have this and what does it mean?
I had this message for 3 weeks in Nov. I told my TA that I had not been the reservation in over a month. TA called Celebrity. Celebrity could not get into my reservation. After about a week they had to make a whole new reservation number for my cruise in June 2015.

Even if you put it in the checked luggage, that is scanned and the box will most likely be confiscated.
As others have questioned, why boxed wine? Since the box equals 4 bottles, each of you can easily carry on one bottle of good wine, which is allowed. And I can't imagine a Sommolier charging you just one corkage fee for an entire box. We one time brought a 1.5 L bottle and we were charged a double corkage fee.
If you put 2 bottle in each suitcase, how would they know what suitcases go together. Do you think they are looking at each tag and pairing them up. Get real.
-
Had no problem taking a box of wine on board. It is worth paying the corkage fee just to see the sommelier carrying it thru the MDR to serve it at our table during dinner.
Drink up
LOL, Yes that would be great.

What I think you are asking is
Conversion from old cruise credits to cruise points:
If credits were 1-4, points = (credits * 7) + 1
If credits were 5-7, points = (credits * 7) + 3
If credits were > 7, points = (credits * 7) + 13
So if you had 5 * 7 =35+3=38
Check the chart below
http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=1343037&highlight=cruise+point+calculator
Royal gives you a higher level because of Celebrity cruises, but your points for both cruise lines stay seperate. So your base points for Royal are 38 then added the points from your other Royal cruises post point change.
I hope this helps

If the OP is booked in Aqua Class and chooses "Select", there is no chance he will be accidentally assigned to the MDR.

VULCAN1971 your 100% correct here. Once I found out that you don't have to pre-pay gratuities when booking Aqua. I call my TA after final payment. Had the gratuities amount credited back on my visa card. When booking you have to pick early, late or select dining. Pick early or late dining. As you are booked in Aqua and dine in Blu. Just show up when you want to eat in Blu within dining times.
Call your TA or Celebrity and have it changed to early or late dining.

We would like RCL and Celebrity to come back to the West Coast. We are getting tired of the Caribbean. This year we are only doing a 7 day cruise in the Caribbean. Then spending time in Orlando. We are happy with RCCL moving more ships into Asia. Celebrity has a new route from Abu Dhabi to Singapore. Sure looks like fun.

Been on all five and the first three............ Solstice, Equinox and Eclipse are the best. Hot Glass show, bigger Skylouge , fewer cabins overall.
We are going to sail on Silhouette in Mar. I'm going to miss not having the Corning Glassworks Show. I really like the Corning Glassworks Show. I would put them in this order. Solstice, Equinox, Eclipse.
Upgrade #7202 FV to #1141 aft Aqua?

I agree with the above info. Take the Aqua 1141 cabin.
