As everyone has stated, the Elite Cocktail Hour is meaningless when you have a package. Enjoy the package and drink when and where you’d like.

We enjoy the ECH in the sky lounge. We sit at the bar and order from our PDP without a problem. I like the appetizers. We would go to the ECH over going to MC or Retreat. I did not like the ECH on the Edge for it was in the Club with no windows.

If this program ever comes back- what would be the point of the upcharge in the MDR?  Just book a Specialty Restaurant instead.

I need more research on the steaks. If I'm having a steak on a X ship. Which restaurant has the best quality steak. Specialty restaurant, Luminae or MDR with upcharge.

This has all been so helpful. I

lobe blown glass. I have been

to demos in Venice that were amazing. But I have so much glass I really only want to do it if I can make my own. And the choices they give are not that interesting to me. Do they also sell other pieces made by the experts?

Yes, if you ask. They have blown pieces. Normally on top of the Glass Annealing Oven. I've bought one.

  5. We have only sailed on Edge once. That sailing we were in a sky suite. My dislikes are. Luminae has limited food choices and noisy. Edge Retreat does not have a real bar. Retreat sundeck had limited shade. Retreat sundeck bar seating area. Not a nice area for lunch on port day when it rains as you get wet. Yes we got wet. Luminae not open on port days for lunch.

Friends booked Apex for Iceland. We decided to join them and give E Class suites another try. Apex does have a bar in the Retreat Lounge.

  6. If I remember correctly. The angle balconies aft of the elevators. The more aft the bigger the balcony.  You need to think about if you want the bed by the balcony or near the closet. One of my favorite angle balcony are cabins 2105, 2107 or 2109. Right out to the pool and up one level for drinks and snacks.

Retreat sun deck bar is always open for lunch even on port days. Can order shrimp cocktail, the famed Luminae burger, a chicken sandwich and one or two other items from their food menu.

I'm also a fan of the Luminae burger too. I usually cut the huge buns in half in an effort to reduce carbs. Also always ask for mayo on the side as it pairs perfectly with the truffle fries.

I had the Luminae burger in Luminae. No top bun for me also. We also had lunch on a port day on the Edge. I ordered 2 shrimp and 2 chicken Caesar wraps. Portions on the small side back in 2019. Had lunch last year on a port day in Alaska at the Retreat sun deck on Millie.

Interesting about the raw wood railings because we saw this on our recent sailing on the Solstice.  Several of the balconies below us had that when we boarded. However, at our first port, walking back to the ship, we saw workers on the balconies.  Sure enough, they had re-varnished the railings (or whatever one does to the railing to make it look nice again😊).

I wood like the unvarnished railings over gray metal railings. Nice to see X is re-varnishing verses replacing with metal railings
