  1. Since you started this nice list, you can also add Ocean Terrace Sushi Bar on deck 7. They have beverages and have a few free appetizers you can get with a beverage 'purchase'. Pre-pandemic, the 'purchase' could be via the drink package, so hopefully that is still true.... We went there on the Sky in 2020 and just had (free) Edamame and Sake. You don't have to order food. Pre-pandemic menu:
  2. Just to add to the "food" for thought.... Our last 2 cruises, we looked at the menu on the app in our room, but there were minor changes when we got downstairs to the dining room.....so it isn't gospel even once it's on the app.....
  3. Yep. They are included. Also, if you want to add a shot of a little sumpin', that is included also... 😉
  4. ...and even less that sleep 4....those are REALLY hard to find. It seems they are mostly Inside or Mini-Suites. If Princess is trying to attract younger families or multi-generational groups, they really need to work on that....
  5. Since there is also a lack of draft beer onboard, not too sure beer drinkers are very happy either..... One would think a "Gastropub" would have some good draft beers.....haven't been on a ship with one yet....maybe it does? (But I doubt it...) Even if the Enchanted had Vines, right now the ships I have been on with Vines have no more good wine available in Vines than in the MDR....at least for white wine...pathetic...
  6. So...do you only see this when you are on the ship? I don't see anything titled like that off the ship. I do see "Travel Companions" and I am having a heck of a time adding our travel companions to it even though I have their booking number.....
  7. I was thinking Carnival would be cheaper also. However, just today I booked us on a Princess Caribbean family cruise for 2024. We were on Carnival earlier this year. Carnival was cheaper, but with the Plus fares, if you plan to book Beverage packages and WiFi, you really need to do some price comparisons. For the adults (with the Plus package), Princess is actually cheaper than adding the same benefits to Carnival. The one thing cheaper on Carnival is that the 3rd and 4th person are $259, while on Princess they are $499. This is not to mention the current Princess 'sale' including $100 per person excursion credit. I've also noticed Carnival deposits appear to be non-refundable? I don't know if that's always the case, but on Princess generally they are refundable. One thing that is more difficult on Princess is finding 4 person cabins--much easier on Carnival.
  8. Looking at booking 3 mini-suites for our group on the Sky Princess. Do the balcony dividers open between them like on the Grand class ships? I am looking at the Lido deck. (I know the size of the balconies is pathetic, but we wanted to be able to open them for easier access between cabins.) Thanks.
  9. I have also found that sometimes it is the poorly done website. I have found cabins available by using a different browser. This is especially true if you are looking at different dates for the same ship/ cruise. Pretty sure there is some cache clearing not happening or something.....
  10. Wondering if they are just discontinuing dishing up the salads into individual dishes or actually no longer serving salads? We really like the salads in the IC and hope it just means they will be going back to serving it the way they did pre-covid..... 🤔
  11. None on the Emerald in August or the Ruby in October.
  12. We used to be able to use WiFi calling, but lately, like everything with the internet, have had mixed results. Most recently at sea off the coast of California, it wouldn't work. 🤷‍♀️ If you have the option of using WhatsApp, it might work better, though I have no idea why...
  13. Yeah....thanks...thought of that too....but they are pretty challenged by the app....
  14. I'm having a problem adding Travel Companions for a cruise next summer. I've done this before o n other cruises with no problems, but can't seem to get it to work this time. I've had the couple confirm their booking number with me, logged off the app and back on, waited a few days.....out of ideas. It keeps coming up with "Booking number not found". Also tried using all lower case, upper case, deleting spaces, etc. I guess I will call next week if I can't figure it out, but just thought I'd see if anyone else had a suggestion.
  15. Minor detail I kept looking at on the show. Where did those red jackets come from? The bartenders on Princess don't wear red jackets.... Ah....that was the color on the original Love BOat.... 😁
  16. On the Ruby last week and really surprised to see the motion light in the nightstand -- only on the one on the closet wall. It didn't bother us too much, though it was weird as if I had a cover fall over the side of the bed, it went off, so I could see how that would be really annoying to a lot of people. My biggest annoyance with it.....was that they went to all this work to hook up a light in the floor area of the nightstand, but they STILL don't have a plug in on the top of the nightstand! Come on, Princess, it would have been the perfect time to do this! 🤷‍♀️
  17. Jumping on this thread... Has anyone ever been on a cruise with their kids and had the kids club NOT open due to low number of kids? Just trying to see if this has happened to people. I would likely be talking about pre-covid since there were restrictions during the initial restart. Planning a cruise with DGD and DGS in 2024. They will be 4 and 7 and would be disappointed if it wasn't open. We are thinking of a January or February cruise and I know that's not the most common time for kids...don't need a lot of kids...just need it to be open. It's a 7 day Caribbean.
  18. We were on the Ruby last week. Even though Outriggers was NEVER listed as being open, we found it was open nearly every day from about noon to 5. They said it was their first cruise being open since in Alaska they thought it might be too cool.
  19. Not exactly the topic, but you are possibly answering a question I have. If you book multiple rooms (family group), can it be invoiced to one person? Does this show up online that way pre-cruise? Or do you have multiple booking numbers/invoices? Starting to plan an upcoming family cruise with 3 cabins that I will be paying for and wondering how that works. Thanks. (Planning to book through a CVP.)
  20. It's always surprising that there actually are lots of people who apparantly can afford it--or think they can. Just off the Ruby and she was headed for Hawaii. Our California coastal cruise last week was 50% full. We heard Hawaii this week was going to be at capacity. So....the bean counters win.
  21. I am just off the Ruby last week and I was really surprised to see that the Ruby doesn't have sinks for hand washing like the other ships I have been on over the last few years. The Emerald had them in August and I am pretty sure even the old Sun Princess had them in 2019. Since I started seeing sinks on the Sky, I am assuming the Royal class has them? Is the Ruby alone in not having sinks, or are there other ships also? Since the Emerald has them which is a pretty similar design, it just seemed odd to me. It was also interesting that nobody, ever, requested anyone to use the hand sanitizers on the Ruby. On the Emerald (Southampton), the entire cruise they requested people to wash every time you walked into the buffet. Longer cruise? Different country? Or just different staff?
  22. Just off the Ruby and I thought I would give my 2 cents worth. I am a white wine (only) drinker. I was on the Emerald in August (out of Southampton). The 'house' wine was Tini! and I thought the Chardonnay was pretty awful. The Pinot Grigio was a bit better, so I went with that for the cruise. I tried a couple of times to 'upgrade' using the menus, but it seemed they never had what was listed. On the Ruby, the "house" wine was Canyon Road. My opinion again was that the Chardonnay was awful. However, I found that not all bars had the same Chardonnays and Pinot Grigios. In Skywalkers, I asked the server what brand of Chardonnay they had and he told me they had 3 different ones included in the Plus package (not listed on the menu as being by the glass). One of them was Decoy, so that was my 'go to' if it was available. I found that Decoy was available in Skywalkers, Explorers and the Calypso Bar. In the dining room and Good Spirits I think they only had Canyon Road for a Chardonnay, but they had other brands (don't recall the names) for Pinot Grigio that were palatable. It's a head spin to try and keep track since they aren't listed on the menus, but I found asking the bartender or a knowledgeable server would often find me something drinkable that was included in Plus. My advice--ignore the menus. And Vines is dead as far as I could tell. Their 'menu' was the same wines as Good Spirits and the servers were the same servers so they didn't know anything other than what Good Spirits had. Really a shame, as several wines that I now drink at home I first tasted in Vines experiences. So sad. There was hardly anyone sitting there and I can see why. You do need to be sure the bartender/ server is knowledgeable. We had one experience where on the menu we saw there was a Prosecco Sparkling Wine available, but we preter a Brut. Since that was listed as an upcharge of $4 / glass, we thought we'd try that. Fortunately, DH was at the bar when the bartender started pouring the Prosecco. He said, but we wanted Brut. The bartender said, we don't have that. UM.....felt like saying...so if I ordered a Stella, but you were out, would you just give me a Bud Light???? I guess wine is just pretty mis-understood.... Hope that is helpful and I really hope Princess gets their act together about their wines....
