  1. That would be me, HBE! We're a Yankee home here...😉 Thank you for sharing , April, about your recovery. Jim said that's kind of what he's expecting his recovery to be, not to mention his age. At least he's admitting to that, lol!! That sure was no fun for you, especially after just moving into your new home, with so much to do once inside!
  2. Thank you, Sue!🥰 I'm glad you weren't very sick, but being sick on a ship/vacation is never any fun! Congratulations on becoming Diamond Plus!! Oh, no!! I have no idea what it's going to be like, since we were out of the Country. Thank you for your good wishes, Judy.😘
  3. They really did!💕 Jim is really tired today, but I reminded him that he's still healing and recuperating. You will enjoy the Adventure, Bonnie. Jim and I actually laughed when we saw the duct tape!! Personnel are awesome. Looking forward to meeting you, Jack, and and all of our travelling buddies!!
  4. Thank you, Mark.🥰 How is your daughter feeling? I hope all is well for your DD💕 Thank you, John. 😘 It sounds like you and Sharon are enjoying your cruise. Enjoy Aruba!!!!!! As am I!! I have so much paperwork with regard to our insurance, etc. Have a blast with Sharon and your friends!❤️
  5. I'm sorry you came down with Covid. Were you very sick with it? I read that several of the FB group came down with Covid, and that people were seen coughing with little concern for those around them.☹️ Were you in any of the Slot Pulls? We were in the one with our Roll Call group; we never made it to the FB one. Thank you, Deb! Jan. 30th is our next cruise....short, but sweet!🥰 I didn't realize that, since the back of both ships look the same to me.🤔 We will be in a JS aft on Liberty.
  6. Thanks you, Bonnie 🥰 The employees on Adventure are wonderful! The ship is a little older..our room was pretty aged .. there was duct tape on the track of the sliding door which made it chilly heading North...lol! I'm sure our room was the exception, rather than the norm. Our cabin Steward was awesome. We had MTD which wasn't as bad as I'd read about. There were long lines, but they moved quickly enough. We had 7pm reservations and by arriving 15 minutes early, got us to our table at 7:00. I'd like to say the food was great, but.....food is subjective, as we all know😉 Up until Jim's health issues, we had a very nice time. Would I go on Adventure again? Well, we'll be on her sister ship, Liberty, so the answer is yes, we would.❣️ I know you and Jack will have a good time on her! 😊
  7. Thank you, Andrew. The people in Halifax are wonderful. Truly wonderful 🥰 Thank you so much. We couldn't ask for better care!😘
  8. I think you're right about it being the law in Canada. The people in Halifax are so friendly and helpful. Thank you, HBE!
  9. Thank you, Patti. It sure wasn't the adventure we planned on when first boarded the Adventure!! Jim is feeling better, he's not in the awful pain he was in prior to his surgery, We are so happy to be home.🥰
  10. I only had gator bits in restaurant once...it was tough and chewy! It sounds like such a wonderful reunion for you and Dick!!!! How big was the alligator that your friends caught and cooked?
  11. I can't even imagine! My twins were about 2 months old when they both got sick and had high fevers. Dr put them on sudafed, or actifed, one of those meds, and they both cried for 24 hours straight, Naturally, Jim was at the Firehouse, but luckily for me, my Mom came and helped me out. To this day, they can't take those medicines. They are sensitive to different medicines...
  12. Oh man. I am so sorry that this happened to you while on your cruise. I bet you can't wait to get home tomorrow. Safe home❤️
  13. Aw, thank you so much, Bonnie! Jim was very well taken care of, and the employees in the hotel took good care of me, also. They watched out for me. It feels so great to be back home again,
  14. Wow..sorry you got sick on your cruise.☹️ It's never fun when you are sick and not in your own home. Glad you are starting to feel better.
  15. Holy moly!!! How did you take care of the babies after your surgery? One of the members of housekeeping at our hotel said she had gallbladder surgery two weeks after giving birth, and said it seems to be common after having a baby. I had never heard that before. Thank you for your good wishes🥰
  16. Yes, Jim's was laparoscopically removed also. How long ago did you have your surgery? Did it take a long time to heal?
  17. Thank you so much, Arzeena!🥰 Thank you, Debbie. 😘 From what my daughter said, lots of people here in Forked River have been sick with Covid. Crazy how it seems to be on the move so quickly. I've been reading on FB Adventure group, several people got Covid on our cruise. I'm not sure how the insurance will work...scares me a little. Jim seems to think we have to pay hospital bill, and we'd get reimbursed???? I sure hope we don't have to pay upfront for all of this. One of the drs on the surgeons team asked if we had medical insurance, and asked the name of the Company, so I sure hope they will deal with it. When we were in the hospital in St. John, we weren't asked any questions about insurance. LOL Dani!!! You are so right....the gallbladder should have had the decency to wait until we got back to NJ!! (exactly what Jim was hoping for) Thank you, my friend!😘 Thank you, OB! As unfortunate as this whole vacation panned out, Jim had excellent care, from Ship Medical, to the hospital Doctors, nurses, etc.😉
  18. So, while Jim was in the Ship Infirmary during our Sea Day, I went to Customer Service to find out what the Protocol would be with our leaving the ship. I was told someone would call me; that person went on Duty around 4:00. I stayed in my cabin until 5:30, and still had not hear from anyone. I went back down to Customer Service and said I hadn't heard from anyone, so what should I expect to happen in the morning? I was told someone would get our luggage, and we would be taken to the hospital. I finally got a phone call that evening and the conversation went like this: "Your husband can go to Medical." I said "my husband is in medical. we will be getting off in the morning and going to the hospital". She then said "will you be staying in the hospital, or a hotel?" I was like, "um, I don't know?" and she said, "oh, you don't know?" and quickly hung up on me, before I could say another word. Jim came back from Medical later that night and said we have to take our luggage with us to Medical. I told him that I was told someone would take it from our cabin for us. Well, no one came to our cabin, so we called Customer Service. There was no way Jim could take our luggage with me. Someone came up and helped me with our 3 pieces of luggage. By the time we got to Medical, the Paramedics were already on board, and took Jim out on the stretcher, while one of the Medical employees as well as the young man who helped with the luggage and I followed. The Medical employee tried unsuccessfully to contact the Port Agent for a good 20 minutes or so, while she and I stood there with my luggage. The ambulance had already left with Jim, and luckily for me, the Paramedic gave me the name of a Hotel that is across the street from the hospital, just before they left. I went and got a cab myself while the Medical employee stayed with my luggage. This was so darned stressful, and not what I was told was going to happen. The hotel was lovely, and everyone there was so kind and hospitable. The Medical Staff on Adventure was Awesome!!!!! The Doctor, the Nurse, and the employee that stayed we me (I wish I knew what her title was....liason???) They were all so very kind, so caring, and so professional, they put Jim and I at ease the entire time we were there. Kudos to them all! I have to say that every person we encountered in Halifax was very friendly as well as very helpful. We would definitely like to get back to Halifax and visit this beautiful City. Thank God we have Medical Insurance. Has anyone here been in a hospital outside of the U.S.?? I'm just not sure how it works....
