  1. I'm a 19 time RCL cruiser. I typically book way in advance - usually a year and not less than six months. I was just looking at booking a cruise this summer out of US ports and could not believe 1) the high prices, and 2) low availability. Good for Royal. Great to see people cruise again. I know RCL has a lot to make back from covid losses. All that being said, I still can't believe what certain ships were going for. We're within 90 days of most of the sailings we're looking at so not really expecting much in price drops. Anyone else having a similar reaction to prices this summer?
  2. I'm not a big drinker, but do find I like certain drinks from time-to-time. I recently had the following: Siesta Key Toasted Coconut Rum blended with Frozen Pina Colada Mix, topped with a Rum Float. Those of you in the know about the bar stock on Royal, could they make this drink with those items? Thanks
  3. Again, you can't help yourself. Not only did you respond, but you found a way to justify your actions. I see now. You're doing me a favor, by being critical of me, for how I asked my question. Ah... got it. Thank you so much Biker. You are amazing and an incredible asset to CC. Thank you for keeping my post active and helping me get feedback. Thank you for your comments in this thread to help bring the post forward. Thank you for not letting my post go to the file of threads where the OP doesn't receive any responses. You are awesome!
  4. And of course you posted again!!! Too funny. You can't help it. You have to justify yourself and can't just let it be. I'm just looking for any data points. I don't need you to critique or instruct me on how to post. You are exactly why people have come to dislike Cruise Critic forums. People want to post and solicit for information, but instead they get lectured by people like you for how they ask questions.
  5. See. You're doing it even now and you don't realize it. You're being snarky. All the things you're saying don't need to be said. Your posts on this specific thread add no value and are not helpful to any way to the original question. And I KNEW you couldn't resist posting to defend your position of not being snarky. And I know you won't be able to resist posting again and responding to this.
  6. Ha. Exactly what I’m talking about. Someone couldn’t wait to make a snarky response! Welcome to cruise critic everyone. Guarantee you this person will not be able to resist responding to my post.
  7. I, and others, have had issues with the Solarium being very warm and humid on the Wonder. Before all of you start getting jumping with "I've never thought it was warm - what are you taking about!". Just be nice. Just looking for recent data points on if the the Solarium temps have been comfortable and not too humid. Thanks!
  8. There's already a massive seven page thread on this topic. Would be better of this thread could be closed off and redirected to the other one.
  9. I've been on my share of holiday cruises and seen lots of kids. Worst I typically see is a lot of energy and running around the ship or being loud and obnoxious. I've not seen property damage and that is unacceptable. And I also have seen obnoxious behavior while the kids are with the parents. Blows my mind... @Eriksgarden, how did you learn they were thrown off and being billed for the damages?
  10. I wish I could get this offer for my upcoming April 2nd cruise in Wonder.
  11. The entertainment on the Wonder continues to be incredible polarizing. I was on the Wonder in December and overall was not impressed with the entertainment and very disappointed. Enjoyed the ice show a lot. All other shows were over produced and loud. Entertainers very talented, but bootstrapped into shows where the technology was the focus over the talent.
  12. My son was very happy to have this “activity” over several days even if there wasn’t anything specifically to do. He said it was just nice having a formal program where he could meet people his age.
  13. Thanks, Fred. And I saw this on Royal's site. "Vendor must also inform the guests that they may have to provide proof of identification at pier check-in along with proof of qualification for each occupant of the second stateroom (if any). Failure to produce authentic identification may result in the cruise fare reverting to full retail tariff at time of check in or boarding may be denied." So it's on me to catch this error and have RCL correct it??? Seems like it. Annoying. I'll need to call them tomorrow.
  14. This is a perfect post for my Cruise Critic experts. Due to a schedule conflict I moved my sail date up a week. I understood I would pay a $100 pp fee for the change. That charge is listed as CHG1-CHANGE FEE. All good there. On my new receipt, I have the Cruise Fare (before any discounts), and instead of listing current promotions out, I just have an Interline NRD credit. Also, 1) all the promotions from my old booking are gone. I expected that with the new booking and 2) none of the RCL current promotions are showing on the receipt. Now both of those things are fine with me because the total fare with the Interline are saving me more money than the current promotions. From what I read, you need to qualify for the Interline. I don't meet any qualifications I can find. I was never asked questions about if I do qualify. The RCL agent didn't mention anything about Interline. Is there any reason to expect that at any time I will be asked or challenged to why I have the Interline NRD "credit"? My guess is that I'll pay my balance off and no one is going to pay any attention. Just wanted to run this by my CC crew. Thanks
  15. That’s true for some pictures, but for most pictures, they ask for your cabin number and they associate the picture with the cabin number they type in.
  16. @SilkySal, this is a great post. We were just in a position on our last cruise where we didn't use one of our two photos. I'm going to make a tweak to your idea. Instead of having our family in the photo, I might just have the photographer take a picture of the waiter and asst waiter individually and then give them each their own high quality photo for themselves or their family. Thanks for this idea!
  17. Karaoke: About an hour or so. The room is extremely small and very difficult to find a seat - be ready for that. Miss having Karaoke in Music Hall on Odyssey. Music Hall: Always open unless private event going on. Pool table on 2nd floor. Entertainment of some sort about every night from our recent sailing. Vue Bar: On our recent sailing it depending on time of day. During the day and later at night pretty dead. Around 5-8 was the busiest. Playmaker: Wide, but not that deep. Big, but would no consider huge. Parts of it are very tight like where the pool, ping pong and video games are. Thought Playmakers on Freedom and Odyssey were better. Shows: Depends on sailing and when they release the entertainment schedule. Sometimes 30 - 45 days. Just keep checking each week.
  18. I really hope that passengers provide specific and direct feedback to Royal on this topic. On our 12/31/22 it was basically a sauna yet the area was full. So my guess is that Royal probably figures that if the space is filling up there's not a problem and that you can't make everyone happy. I'm back on in April 2023 and don't expect it to be any better - hopefully I'll be wrong.
  19. You're going to need to reset those expectations for dining in the MDR on Royal in 2023. 🙂 In our last 5 sailings the food in the MDR is about average with some nights barely hitting good. Just completed my 17th RCL cruise. MDR quality has dropped quite a bit over the years.
  20. As someone who has spent time on a lot of RCL Flowriders I'll tell you this. I have been on multiple Freedom, Oasis and Quantum class all during either Christmas and New Year's sailing, and regardless of the ship, and how many Flowriders, I find the lines are about the same regardless of any of those factors. Sea days always the worst.
  21. There is a separately thread now about the heat issue is the Wonder. I was just on the Wonder on the 12/31/22 and my wife and I found the heat unbearable. Very warm and stuffy during the day. It was hotter in the Solarium than outside of it. Usually the Solarium is our escape, but we had to escape the Solarium. 🙂
  22. You won't know for sure until a few days out when the times update in the app. Don't bother looking before that because the information changes.
