  1. Going to try to reshape this conversation. I can't but help think that there are many people who will miss their cruise this weekend due to the terrible transportation issues people are facing. I would not expect people to come on any of the CC forums to talk about how disappointed they are because there's no fun in that and those people are probably really down about missing their cruise and don't want to talk about it. I'm sure plenty of people are trying to drive to make their cruise if they can, but would assume plenty of people, RCL or not, are going to miss their holiday sailing this week for the typical 7 day ships that leave on the weekend. I feel for the people in that situation and can only imagine the disappointment and frustration experienced right now my many travelers.
  2. Lots of people on recent cruises still wearing masks - both crew and passenger.
  3. Love this title. I think you'll find most of us here are Type A with some who worry more than others. 🙂 Passports are the golden ticket - no need for BC if you have passport. You may have health or other situations that require "other documentation", but most travelers don't need to worry about anything other than passport. You do not need to print sail passes. You don't need to move them to Apple Wallet either unless you are worried that your cell phone service isn't working and you wouldn't be able to pull them up in the app. No harm in Wallet. Have fun!
  4. We frequently use Traveguard which is AIG. The policies with them always felt more comprehensive. That being said, with ALL of these insurance companies, the devil is in the details in terms of what they cover AND the conditions that must occur for the policy to kick in. Regardless of what any insurance selected, you must read the fine print prior to purchasing and walk through what would happen with the situations that might be of greatest risk to you.
  5. I'll give you my two cents. RC typically considered a middle of the pack line. Enhancement was one of our first ships as a family. It's a great ship, but I prefer ships in the Oasis Class and Quantum class, followed by Freedom class, and then Navigator-type ships. Enchantment will fall below that for me, but definitely a nice ship. Do the math on the drink package. Check for sales. You might like the package so yo don't have to think about the math on the ship. Other than cabin category, you might want to consider some speciality restaurants.
  6. I've noticed this activity more and more over the past two years. Makes me so frustrated. Very selfish.
  7. I thought people would find the following amusing. I talked to Royal Caribbean Crown and Anchor and they said that with my unlimited Dining package I was guaranteed a restaurant at 5:30 every night.
  8. For those of you who went on Wonder out of Port Canaveral - what was earliest checkin time that you recall or heard about was available? Thanks
  9. How much extra, as a premium, do you think you paid going that way over UDP?
  10. Thank you for the response. When I had UDP on the Allure last year I had the same experience with the dining not showing up on the app until later (saying this for the benefit of others). I'm going to make the best of it and I'll chime in on the thread after my trip to follow up for anyone else who is following or curious. I've stressed myself out enough about this so I just need to chill and then make the mad dash when I board and monitor for any openings during the week. I can't schedule MTD as a backup at this point because they are all conflicting with the shows I booked.
  11. @ARandomTraveler were you able to make reservations for unlimited dining through the application? Some people have said on the forms they were able to do that.
  12. Out of curiosity, what time was considered early for you and your family? For us I think it would be anything earlier than 545 or six.
  13. Thanks for your thoughts. Trying to put what you said in perspective. 1) My shows are not until later in the evening so lots of flexibility on time, 2) I don't care which day I go to what restaurant, and 3) independent of the show time, I'm pretty flexible on which restaurant on which night. Sounds like it all worked out for you even with the inconvenience of Wonderland in the beginning.
  14. Hey, Ken. One more question. So you think going to Hooked, or Mason Jar or Izumi would be non-holiday spots? Those would be fine for the night.
  15. We're indifferent on times so seems like as long as we're flexible we should be OK. Hoping...
  16. Thank you for mentioning this. I wasn't aware of that. Crap. I tried to book MTD for NYE (the first night), but it wouldn't let me because I have the Unlimited Dining package blocked on my schedule. I'm worried that customer service might mess it up if tweaking with it. Hmmm... Any suggestions from anyone? Thanks again.
  17. I am on the Wonder for the Dec 31st sailing. I have had UDP before but never during a holiday sailing. I plan on booking dinners as soon as we get on with our 1130 boarding time. Does anyone think I’m going to have an issue with getting dinner slots if I book when we get onboard at that time? Had read a story that someone had UDP and wasn’t able to book meals, but you can’t believe everything you read.
  18. On 12/31 Wonder sailing. Over a week ago went to book show reservations. All comedy shows already sold out. Arg....
  19. Royal is experiencing record bookings according to new reports I've read. They were already short staffed. Calling the C&A doesn't seem to matter time wise. When Icon bookings started, they were receiving a lot of calls. I think they're just really busy with not enough people. Feels like similar to everywhere else.
  20. Sent in two weeks before. Received credit within 48 hours. Wasn't an issue.
  21. Many posts on this. My family has looked at many times. Waste of money in our opinion. Not enough value.
  22. @dizzyr, have been on 15 RCL cruises with internal rooms. 13 of those with kids. Never once an issue. We love how dark it is inside the rooms and sleep really well in them. Also love how much money we save. Just make sure your room isn't near or below a busy or noisy floor/area.
  23. I'm very familiar with how much time to give myself to head to the FL or Miami ports, but not so much for PC. I have an 11:30 arrival time for Port Canaveral. Once I arrive at the port area (pre Terminal), with traffic, how much time will it take to get from the entrance to the port area until I can arrive at the Wonder terminal? Just a general timeframe. Thanks!
  24. We just got off the freedom from last week and my wife said the exact same thing about the salad bar lacking so many items.
