  1. Someone has to take the early flight so there are seats available for those who prefer to dawdle and take their time disembarking and have a more relaxed time getting to the airport.
  2. It looks like at least one of the reps at Princess thought you wanted to buy Gift Cards and not redeem them.
  3. No IC on the Island. They have Amuleto top forward in the buffet area and they serve up the IC offerings. In the Atrium, Deck 5, they converted the Patisserie into Good Spirits bar, but they have the coffee machine there and do at least some of the IC style coffees there as well. That is a cross-over point on Caribe. Similar on Baja, Emerald, Dolphin.
  4. Or the 14th if Princess IT has act together. YGIAGAM. Or better.
  5. Not so - and you are a Disney fan! Always show up early and expect the rope drop to happen ahead of time. So important to be early (if you are an early riser type) and knock off the busiest experiences before the park gets too busy.
  6. Are those physical (actual) voyage lengths, or are they logical (can be booked as series of shorter voyages)?
  7. FYI all. The desserts left around from the Norman Love days are just called Chocolate Journey desserts now since Love contract has ended. At least the desserts didn't have to end at the same time. When contract ended with Curtis Stone, his dishes were erased from the menus and at least a couple of those were favorites of many guests.
  8. We don't know how many email addresses all of the big-wigs have, but Padgett is going to be reachable @PrincessCruises.com.
  9. I am not sure what PCL's longest single voyage is these days (other than World Cruise), but the parts of the fare packages where you get one or two of something during the voyage seems patently unfair to a guest who books a long voyage versus someone booking 5-7 nights.
  10. If it is one of the expensive cabanas you are after, then it should be much easier since they aren't as much in demand. Are you able to arrive and board sooner (by that I mean based on where you are coming from and nothing to do with what it says in the App)?
  11. Did you notice something PCL has done? (Tagging @ceilidh1 & @Shelly97060 as members I am aware are TA's.) I notice the NCF portion of the fares has changed from $25 (been that for years) to $29 now. At least some of the fare dollar increases seen are not going to be commissionable. I am not in the business, so this amount could be in line with other lines.
  12. Yes. I do recall that being the case once when we tacked on a 5-nighter ahead of our 7-nighter. It was NP getting chair space for the second leg, but almost nothing we wanted for the first leg. (This was in Caribbean of course - the very toughest sector to secure space in).
  13. While the above CC members posting have given good advice, some key points have been missed. With 28 cruises (assuming Princess), you are Elite and therefore get priority service at Guest Services. It is quite simple to get a SD charge adjusted. Yes, it can be frustrating waiting on the phone for long time and being put on hold, but here are some important things to know for future: 1. as @dog, mentioned, you could have just cancelled the SD res and received a refund to your credit card. 2. You should notice when booking dining in the Princess App (Dine My Way), that the bottom line will indicate your charges before applying to credit card. If you don't see your SD credit applied, then you are going to be charged the cost of SD cover charge. And you didn't do this in the Cruise Personalizer as DMW is not there. You may have used the web version of the App, but same process applies. 3. The way you described your booking, you did it incorrectly in the first place. This is the important point. You wrote that your friend booked in Sabi's and had no charge, but you did. Did you not realize that you have booked separate reservations at separate tables? I am presuming you were looking to coordinate and dine at Sabi's together. If so, you both should have added each other as Travel Companions and then one of you make the booking by adding the other couple as Dining Party members. This way, you have a single res at the same table. The way you did it, you are holding two tables and need to correct it with the restaurant. By the way, I would have made my free booking at CG to use the full $29 and then paid $25 to eat at Sabi's on a different night. But maybe neither of you are interested in CG. Hope the above helps you out the next time - if there is a next time.
  14. Usually, one or two TA's post the information here. Otherwise, ask your own TA specializing in Princess, assuming you have one.
  15. Princess doesn't publish bar prices, so we are all going to have to wait until guests report on "live froms" in Jan and Feb what is happening around the bars. Perhaps they are done with the wine price increases and now it is the bar drinks turn.
  16. No doubt there will be guests looking for rebates or credits. I am thinking they aren't going to be fully ready with the new desserts and juice bars before February? Maybe they will come up with something else to offer guests who have already booked the new plans. Shouldn't be very many people booking after Dec 14 and sailing before Feb.
  17. I think you may be right. Princess will find out soon enough if a significant segment of guests stop booking the fare packages. I am even more determined than you about bring on my own wine. I found a good selection in a wine bar in Civitavecchia in October. There was a range of wines and prices. I would say that there is no retail type store in the downtown/port area (not sure about further away). I had expected to find more retail options, but anything decent is in a wine bar. Some of them were charging prices like being there as a patron instead of like a store-front operation. There was plonk type wine in a nearby grocery store. A couple of other stores had very limited selections. I would try this place: Enoteca Cavacini, which is on Via Gorizia, behind the cathedral. Also, when returning to Rome from Sicily for our final voyage on Island, I came across a wine store in the airport terminal. It was in Terminal 1 concourse and seemed like a Duty Free type place. I was in a hurry, but I thought they had a decent selection and pricing was fine - not outrageous for airport. Ah ha! I believe it was Aelia Duty Free by Gate 61. (I went with it because I knew the Enoteca was closed being a Sunday and I thought I did fairly well at Aelia). Of course, there are often opportunities in ports to stock up if not starting with enough. My needs were modest this trip as wife was not drinking much at all.
  18. Princess regularly forgets/overlooks/doesn't bother, etc, to update their various FAQ's and other sales/brochure type information on the website as conditions change. Originally, the MC/Princess App had no logic to recognize CC Member Level and apply a discount, so the process was to pay full price and receive 50% back as refundable OBC on board. The App has been updated to check Member Level and apply the discount if eligible. In this case, the OBC is not required. That said, there has been ongoing data bugs with many guest profiles such that the App is not reflecting their correct Member Level and thus prevents the App from allowing the 50% discount at point of purchase. In these situations, any record not fixed means the guest has to get the OBC.
  19. You would think so, but then noting is easy for Princess IT. Or perhaps they have their good IT resources on projects like ship systems and the D team is handling the MC App. Who knows?
  20. Who physically booked your EZ-Air flights? You, using Cruise Personalizer, or a Princess rep? Why not do it yourself, so you can easily shop around and check flight options, etc? I suspect, as suggested in a couple of posts above, that you did not enter your NEXUS member info in Cruise Personalizer, or directly on Delta.com. The Mr part doesn't fly with me as the real reason. It is best to book your own flights and monitor them with the airline for any changes or cancellations. I also keep checking back in EZ-Air (via Cruise Personalizer) for any price drops or better deals. Domestic isn't going to make a lot of difference, but international flights can change by hundreds of dollars. ETA: Did you call your flights up on Delta.com and enter FF numbers as well?
  21. They won't have any "inside" access, but we recently completed six weeks in Europe and I found that at several ports, ship security setup portable Medallion reader stations in port buildings and such and they were often manned by either port authority/security or immigration/customs. I thought it was cool as it made the return-to-ship process smoother. This was the first time I had ever seen non-Princess personnel using the readers (other than check-in staff at a port terminal).
