  1. I was thinking you were one of the folks wanting to jump on a booking the minute the voyages are released. If shopping around, there isn't a lot of urgency IMO. Besides, as you know, you can always put a booking on hold and decide within 3 days. Or even put down the refundable deposit.
  2. From the article: "It's also possible, albeit not that likely, that since Starlink costs the cruise lines less than its previous service, the cruise line holds prices steady, raising profits while giving customers a better product at the original price.". Wouldn't that have been nice? Instead, there has been a degradation in Princess' internet at sea and no indication of an improvement plan.
  3. If I could, I would have given this post 3 hearts at least.
  4. I was about to post a similar response to @chamima, but you have done a great job laying out the situation. I agree that the information is not confusing at all in terms of the transition to new Plus/Premier packages and pricing. It may be that they have not cleared up what is going to happen with Medallion orders to home addresses for future voyages. This was never part of a package as it was simply a promotional thing that they never expanded outside the US. Now we can order with a shipping charge of $10 US (not sure if that includes Canada or not). They could certainly slim down the packaging to make it less bulk and weight and cut the cost no doubt. I will continue to use a port pickup. We had it that way in Europe (Italy) and it was a breeze. Probably won't make much difference in the PE terminals either.
  5. IMO the pricing doesn't matter. If I or anyone wants to book a voyage, just do it. Ultimately, I have never ended up paying the price I first book at.
  6. You can normally drop bag off in cabin (leave it in the closet area) and then come back later. Not guaranteed as sometimes passageway doors are closed until after noon. We had NP doing this in Oct and Nov on two different ships.
  7. Is this a new change, because you did not need to be a paid member of AARP in order to purchase cards. You just had to be registered with AARP Rewards. I did so and went through umpteen hoops trying to order (needed to get around being in Canada and was trying to use our Florida address). Even a VPN did not seem to help. I might try it again when we are down in FL this Winter (but I will stop short as I don't want any GC's at all right now - no idea when might cruise PCL again).
  8. It's SUPPOSED to be sold to you at 50% of in the Princess (formerly MC) App. If it isn't, then the System is 99% likely reflecting your incorrect Captain Circle status as Blue instead of Platinum or Black. Someone at Princess has to fix the bad data in order for you to make the order as desired. If this cannot be fixed, you get Refundable OBC.
  9. The new advertising language posted above only mentions "juices" as well. No details if natural, 100% fruit, made from frozen, etc. PS - although "juice bar" has a certain connotation and implied product.
  10. PCL seems averse to publishing the full pricing for MedallionNet and simply seems to only inform that it starts at $10/day.
  11. For consistency - and we know this to be a challenge for the folks in Santa Clarita - it should work like other things and you get 2x2 desserts. PS - They do continually find more and more ways to put themselves into corners with odd policies that don't make sense.
  12. Yes, it would be like Club Class. Your Smart Casual friends could not join you for dinner in the Formal section, but you can join them in the regular section. 😂
  13. Nothing new about that. IDK what you are on about in your posts. Princess re-badged their packages when they introduced the new Premier Cruise Fare option. Before, they had the Plus Fare option only. One of its components was an all-inclusive beverage package which could be purchased on its own (lord knows why anyone would). That package had/has a $12 cost limit and anything over that you pay the difference, plus 18%. That beverage package was called Premier - even before the Plus fare option. They should have renamed it back then. When Premier Fare option came out, they upped the ante with the drinks package portion. They also decided to offer it separately for sale (puts a high sticker on it for marketing purposes to make the Cruise Fare option look like a bargain). In order to align things better, they re-badged the drink packages to align with the Cruise Fare options. So, now you have Plus drink package and Premier drink package. The Plus drink package is exactly the one you booked with and included in your booking when you bought the Plus Cruise Fare option. You have lost nothing. You are not going to get the new Premier package, just because the Plus package used to be called Premier. This is quite clear and I don't see how anyone has a leg to stand on, but if you want to complain to Guest Services on board, go right ahead, but you have no grounds. Enjoy your cruise.
  14. The equitable way to do this would have been to allow X number of SD credits per days of cruising. It wouldn't surprise me if their IT dept fell over in a dead faint if they had to update system to accommodate.
  15. Every ship in the fleet has one DR open for lunch on embarkation day, plus all sea days.
  16. It's time for a new bag: And a:
  17. And they can play both sides - just SAY SO, Princess. They can provide better examples of acceptable wear, be firm about what they don't want, and make it clear that formal wear is always welcome, right up to tuxes and gowns.
  18. A suggestion is not a rule. A rule is not a suggestion. Words matter. Clothing recommendations are not rules, per se. How does one enforce a "suggestion"? Something can be an idea, a suggestion, a recommendation, a rule or mandate. It's like masks - are they mandated or is it up to the individual to decide? Is a suit and tie a mandate, or it is up to the individual to decide? I think what most/many people would like to see is written information about clothing that reflects what truly happens on the ships and not some fantasy world or what happened 20 years ago. It would certainly eliminate or severely curtail these endless debates. I think it is quite clear what expectations are on Cunard versus HAL/Celebrity. IDK why Princess insists on being so ambiguous.
  19. For the umpteenth time in this Forum, it's not a rule.
  20. True, but it could take time to get the photo and update website. We also don't know the timing of a job change and what orientation is required with a new line.
  21. I recall if booking early, there were several extra bonuses like free internet, some OBC - perhaps more. Best thing would be to see if you can find a WC promo flyer/brochure and everything is outlined there. ETA: Here is an example from the 2024 offering: Rates for the 2024 World Cruise start at $21,079/person. Guests booking the 97- or 111-day World Cruise by January 31, 2022 receive early booking perks, including: Drinks with Tips – guests enjoy the Premier Beverage Package with everything from cocktails, beer and wine to specialty coffees, smoothies and bottled water. Unlimited Wi-Fi – cruisers can video chat and text with family back home, stream favorite shows and check e-mail. Crew Appreciation – full daily gratuities are paid to crew on behalf of cruise guests. First-Class or Economy Roundtrip Airfare – guests booked in suites, Club Class or mini-suites fly first class to and from LAX or FLL, while guests booking a balcony stateroom receive free economy airfare. Only valid on flights departing the United States or Canada. Money to Spend On Board – for shopping, shore excursions, spa treatments and more, a $500 per guest (for the first two guests) is applied. Specialty Dining – each guest can dine at award-winning specialty restaurants up to four times during the voyage without worrying about the cover charge.
  22. Not anymore, IMO. Recipe and appearance of cookie completely changed.
  23. I guess he has not had time to update his various social media pages. Sad news indeed.
