  1. First, I'd like to say it is ridiculous to have all four pages of the port guides display 4-up on the smartphone screen instead of a page at a time. You can get hardcopies from Guest Services or perhaps the Shorex Desk.
  2. I may have seen him or not, but he is on the senior officer photo board as ED.
  3. Captain's noon announcements on REGAL just now included that masks are now optional for the crew. Came a bit earlier than expected.
  4. Captain's noon announcements included that masks are now optional for the crew. Very fresh since they were still wearing this morning. Too soon to report how many are doffing them versus how many keeping them.
  5. Attempting to decipher what DMW is doing is like trying to find your way in a pitch black catacomb maze.
  6. Perhaps the cost of Plus for Aussies booking with Princess is a little lower than $50 USD in order to compensate for not including crew appreciation? Sounds to me like another failing of Princess IT. If buying a cruise in home country, CA/Grats are baked into the cruise fare. If they don't bake it in to overseas cruises, then I don't see why they cannot charge you the equivalent to $50 USD in AUD and include it.
  7. You should never have a problem with dining at 8:30pm.
  8. Gee.. I think I would have thanked him and handed over a nice tip.
  9. All DR's have side windows. The aft DR's also have rear windows.
  10. Princess has both N.A. and Europe plugs in cabins. In general, I have always found the ones behind beds to be Europe style. Being a non-surge small extension cord with multi-plugs and USB ports if needed in order to maximize the outlets.
  11. Nope. Just use the Deck 7 Starboard main corridor to go aft and then pop downstairs in aft elevator lobby.
  12. Cruise Critic has port forums for all over the world and this is best posed there. You might also find other posts on the hotel in question.
  13. Have not brought any back from ports of call and your question made me think and I don't recall even seeing the alcohol table after returning to the ship (not saying they weren't catching things). I imagine wine is no issue. I brought wine on at Civi port terminal. Security didn't bat an eye and after clearing the scan, I saw where the wine table would be, but not manned few minutes after 10:00am. We were boarding at 11:00am and among first on (love that).
  14. I know I have posted similar, but I too have analyzed numbers. When cruising with our friends, we share a 4-device package. We all contribute to crew appreciation. As always, it comes down to the drinks analysis. MedallionNet is $2.50/pp/day = $5/day Crew Appreciation = $14.50/pp/day = $29/day SUB-TOTAL = $34/day Drinks Balance = $66/day (used to be $46/day) TOTAL = $100/day (which is the new PLUS cost for two people). We are Elite and get bar setup. 10 alcohol (beers) and 10 non-alcohol (Perrier or still). I get the $7 starter water package and we refill bottles 2-3 times. At most, we would finish a bottle of wine in two days. That fits within $132 of drinks "budget" for two days. I don't by $132 bottles of wine on board. In fact, I normally bring my own on for much less. We rarely have bar drinks. For cruises with lots of port days, would need to drink even more. Yes, we are fairly simple drinkers and we are cruising right now. My wife has recently greatly reduced amount of wine she drinks, so a bottle is lasting longer. Am really glad I didn't do PLUS even at $40 (and I was waffling). We are on a 7+7+11 B2B2B. With THREE mini-bar fills, I added more water bottles to second fill and not decided completely about next week. Don't need a lot more beer. Maybe Stewart will benefit. I brought on 6 Italian wines bought in Civitavecchia. After 10 days, they are not finished, and I can get more in ports to replenish. I have only been charged one corkage fee and it was odd what our waiter did. Charged me $12 + 18% (like a drink). Didn't know about it until saw it on cabin account. For our drinking habits, it's a no-brainer now with PLUS costing $50/pp. Even if we are cruising alone and MedallionNet cost is doubled due to only two of us with 4-device plan, still best for us to go Standard fare.
  15. I disagree. I am not saying you are wrong for all guests, but if you are on board with the latest version of MC App, tap on PROFILE in bottom row and you will get the pop-out panel from the left side and that is the same as the off-ship version and I can see our next voyage there.
  16. True in line 1 and YES to your questions. Actually, when attempt to login with 2nd device, it will prompt you to decide to disconnect device 1.
  17. I wonder if anyone who loves the escargot will ever see it in the DR's again. Our formal night menu on Regal this past week did not resemble any FN menu I have seen before. Even on the DTI night, few familiar items exist. I may go into this further one day, but my experience thus far is that almost all food items are lower in quality than pre-Covid. I mean meats and some fruits and I wonder about baking ingredients as well since even cookies are not up to previous standards. I find many items are being over-cooked, but that is a chef/cook thing and could be ship-specific.
  18. Some RC organizers setup a RC Google Doc for the group which includes member details, and itinerary pages to record independents tours the folks may wish to join. Often these docs contain details people wouldn't normally publish on here in a post. As for contact info, anyone I get involved with for a tour I am organizing, I make sure we get in touch with each other via email and then share phone numbers and tour details, including meeting info and costs, which may include deposit info. I see no need to get into those details in public posts and so forth. This is why I do it. Generally, all my sharing and reaching out by email contact is for RC excursion purposes. Some members will include emails for people to contact for TA referrals. I have seen this over the years time-to-time, but not much as it is frowned upon of course. Things are easier in a RC to share than in general forums.
  19. IF I had the plan and IF I was getting that close to the limit, I'd be passed out and in no danger of exceeding it.
  20. REGAL OCT 1 - 59/60 days. ISLAND OCT 31 - 30/31 days
  21. On her now and drives me nuts. Put tape on sensor to stop it from coming on, but still turns off after some seconds when you manually want it on. No way to make light stay on in closet when you want it on longer.
