Just off Navigators..Wi fi had no problems in our cabin on my own iPad...
-
I had the same Sauvignon blanc the whole week recently on Navigator.
Same wine, different temperatures, different glasses and so different each time.

There is no "off season" for oysters any more. It used to be that "months without an "r" in the name" were "off season". Not now and not in the Mediterranean. Most fish restaurants near a port or in a port will have oysters all summer. Some of the best I have ever eaten I had in Beziers in July. There are HUGE oyster beds in the Etang de Thau (roughly between the Rhone and Sète) and production from these goes on all year.
If your cruise takes you anywhere near Cannes there is an amazing fish restaurant in the marina area at la Napoule - la Brocherie.
Very true Hambagahle,if you don't mind eating farmed oysters.commercially these are what are sold in a lot of restaurants and supermarkets in the med,in the summer....So if they are wild, the summer months have a red algae that blooms in warmer climates which can give out a toxin which can be absorbed by oysters.also oysters spawn in the summer and can be more 'fatty'..
As long as. I get a fresh clean, meaty oyster served on a bed of ice with a lemon on the side,I am happy...none of this Tabasco or chilli vinegar for me.spoils the flavour...
I guess it's a preference and you may well get oysters all summer...

We only had frozen shellfish on our week Caribbean cruise ( they admitted to that).even various crab claws.
The French like to cook their oysters.
I adore oysters and oysters should only be eaten when there is an R in the month!;)

Yes, in fact, they do. I knew a guy who had been saving them for years in hopes of getting something worthwhile, instead of a nylon duffle bag or luggage tags. Not sure if he ever did redeem them.
Maybe he is hoping for an extra night in Prime 7.;)

Just want to comment about empty tables as we asked about it a long time ago. In order to avoid everyone arriving at P7 (or Signatures) at the same time, they stagger the reservations. So, at 6:30 p.m. it will be partially empty. At 7:00 p.m. another group arrives and so on. By 7:30 p.m. the restaurants are full but by the time the 8:00 reservations show up, earlier diners are starting to leave. IMO, it is a good way of managing the dining venues and avoids the "rush" that happens in CR.
Agree that it should not have been so difficult for Tami to obtain a reservation for this special day.
I couldn't agree more but the tables were empty all night when we were there. We arrived at 7 pm and stayed late, being the last table to leave as we shared with 2 other couples and had such fun.
-
Some people we met asked us if we wanted the few points we got from coming 2nd in a quiz.I guess they ask around and collect from those who don't have many points to redeem.I have no idea how else they collect them.

We are in England (travelled 6th November) and our documents arrived about a week before we left.
Long wait at the airport awaiting to get on transfer coach.A long walk from luggage collection to coach. If you are elderly or frail, don't be afraid to ask for assistance. But quick trip from airport to hotel( sheraton).
There was no representative at our hotel on arrival in Miami. No voucher for hotel required.
We left the hotel at 12.15 for the bus journey to the ship the following day.
The embarkation was very quick and worked well.
Do not put your luggage tags for the ship,on the cases, until the last minute.Someone on here recommended that,as anyone in the know how,can see that the luggage is destined for a luxury ship and could potentially contain valuable stuff.A good piece of advice.
Sorry to hear about the dinner cancellation. This seems to be an ongoing topic on another thread at the moment.
But enjoy your travels folks.

IMHO it is a sad state of affairs when the President of the company has to intervene to get this done. Why wasn't the dining room manager able to make this happen for the celebrating couple? Does not give one confidence in the onboard experience at all
I was thinking this but didn't want to sound negative with a celebratory reservation.;)
I am truly happy that the meal turned out well in the end,it is just a shame that Tami couldn't organise it herself and have to go through the stress of it all.
.We saw a few incidences of preferential treatment to certain passengers who seemed to be frequent cruisers with Regent and made them selves well heard.
-
That's great Tami..special occasion too.
We were I
When we were in Prime 7, there were 4 empty tables for two and a couple of large empty tables.I heard this was a frequent occurrence.Maybe they really don't have the staff to cope properly with the service everyone desires...
-
That's great Tami.Really pleased you had a good time, but how sad you couldn't have had it like that in the first place...;)

We recently booked a morning tour of 3 1/4 hours and booked a short afternoon tour too. When we got onboard we were told that the morning tour would be 4 1/2 hours so cancelled the afternoon tour. The whole thing in the morning took less then 2 1/2 hours.!
The change of time,Pies4u,may be a good thing if other cruise ships will be doing the same tour in the morning!
We had no end of problems with our flight change and in the end told them to stick it and decided not to go.I had too much on my mind at the time to be playing silly games..But our agent got onto the case and we got sorted to our satisfaction. But I doubt we will cruise with Regent again unless a really really good offer came up.I have better service ,food etc with other ships which don't claim to be 6 star...such a shame..

Having just got off Navigator for a week,we had no problems with the excursions as far as late people etc went. They were all fine.
-
Possibly it is too late.but as I have said,it was if it wasn't read anyway.it was quite exciting for us to pre order our bits and bobs, and then a let down when they weren't there.
The day before we disembarked, the drinks we had in the fridge were removed and it was restocked exactly as we found it,ready for the next passengers.
I hope you have a wonderful trip...:D
-
You both mentioned pre-ordering adult beverages for your suites - is there an online form for this or do you just submit a query thru the 'contact us' link on the RSSC website? Any knowledge of the available brands of gin & vodka? Thank you.
We went into our booking and a tick list was there. We ordered tanqueray( got beefeater) and Bacardi but only after we asked the butler.it was not in suite when we arrived.
-
We have just disembarked from the Navigator and I have to say ditto to the op posting.sounds exactly like our experience.unfortunately we had no idea there was a wine list for the included wines.
-
Like you journeyfan,we did not take the recommended wines but opted for Sauvignon blanc each time? This was delivered quickly and chilled.only twice did they get it wrong once tasted.often the staff got to know that is what I drank. As soon as the staff in Sette Mari knew us,we had better service.Maybe it takes time for the staff to get to know you and 7 nights isn't enough.
Being English we drink tea and all but once we had to make it ourselves.Having a packaged tea bag put on the table with a large jug of hot water. This meant squeezing out the Teabag once brewed, with a spoon and trying to find somewhere to put it.only once at breakfast on the last day did we get a teapot with a tea bag in it.We had to make our own on princess, did not expect to make our own on Navigator.
The fruit was replenished daily and that was very nice.
:D The PA announcements were dreadful and embarrassing.Continual mistakes..

I don't know why they feel they have to close off the internet accounts so early on disembarkation day. On our recent Paul Gauguin cruise, they kept the accounts open until after 9 a.m., and it was really convenient.
It was particularly frustrating for us as we have a very sick mother at home and a sick grandchild. We wanted to get emails before we disembarked to see how they were before we left for a 4 hour drive.with time differences between US and UK,we would have had some news.instead we had to wait nearly 24 hours.

Just stepped off Navigator today.
I doubt we will return. There are lots of things that are very good. But hardly any were luxury or 6 star.
We had a very shabby room in The Sheraton Miami. It was a very long walk after a very long day to the coach from the airport.some elderly frail people struggling with their cases.
We too had noticed how hard the staff worked. It really did appear to be lack of staff. The pool deck from 1pm was a disaster for 3 hours.Cold food, soggy fries, ages waiting at bar,no pool towels on sea days for 2 hours. No one collecting the used towels.
We arrived in our penthouse suite with no bottle of gin and Bacardi as ordered. No potato chips and nuts and completely wrong drinks in bar.
Poor Alana at Gallileos was run off her feet.Another employee who used to work on Princess said they had 6 bars and 36 staff.6 bars with regent have 20 staff.
The Prime 7 restaurant had poor appetisers and all shellfish was frozen. The maître De being rude at times to people wanting to book.We found Sette Mari by far the best food and best staff.Sitting outside everytime was lovely in the Caribbean.
Often cold tea and coffee, wrong wines and cocktails.A bit hap hazard and certainly not luxury.
Embarkation and disembarkation were good.
But we disembarked today,Thursday. The day before we were not given nuts and potato chips, nor more drink in our mini bar.our flowers were removed too,no fresh toiletries, our internet removed the night before we left.so we felt our holiday,in part, was over 24hrs earlier.
The suite was a good size and kept very clean and tidy.we did have brown water in the bath.nice hot shower good size bathroom and closet.
Some excursions were a lot shorter then advertised. The cave tubing was exceptionally good.
-
We are on navigator now in forward suite.
The aft does vibrate a lot more.not sure about any extra noise.
We have had brown water Everytime we run a bath.
Our biggest annoying issue is the sea days with sunshine.
Not enough sunbeds and very little shade.nowhere to sit outside except the pool area and a few seats if you are lucky behind gallileos lounge.it is a bundle for loungers.the shaded areas are next to tables for food or smokers. Also pool staff seem under staffed on these days and continually running out of towels. We are doing the Caribbean so nice and hot but I have found the sea days like a 3 star cruise and not very luxurious.
There is a lot positive things though.

Clock is on the list, thanks. Janecambridge, would love to know what neighbors think of their suite, thank you. Is there any item they wish they had packed? We are newbies and I am somewhat concerned since there has been comment about Regent cruises.
Cheers to you!
Just spoke to the lady in 901. There is a very good alarm clock next to their phone, looks like battery.it has a torch thing attached and a night light too.
There are no ground night lights but small blue down lighters for night.
She said they unless you have any special needs, there is nothing that she can think of you will need.
Happy trip.
-
I will try today to see them.we looked around 901 and it it's stunning.absolutely beautiful.if you are in this suite you will have a wonderful time.
-
I am on navigator now.in suite903.the clock in the cabin is useless.not an alarm clock and doesn't have any form of light to see the time in the dark.i would bring my own next time.We did use the phone for wake up call a couple of times. You just put in certain digits.it worked perfectly.
I will check with next door in master suite 901 if you like about anything you want to know.I have met them and they are on cruise critic too.

Arrived in Miami.Dark and wet..
Staying in Sheraton.Room is awful but too tired to complain.
Apologies.written in error...wrong thread.so tired.
Current Mariner Complimentary Wine List
in Regent Seven Seas Cruises
Posted
Why don't Regent offer the wine list when you dine? If I hadn't been on this forum before we sailed,I would never have known there was a choice.
