  1. I'm guessing that most everything is closed onboard (shops, casino, most bars, etc)?
  2. Without a doubt - we've enjoyed many a tinted meal in there! 🙂 Tom
  3. Jimbo - from your Steakhouse photos, looks like you were sporting your rose colored glasses (good to have a positive attitude) !!! 🙂 Tom
  4. Just grab some JB Weld --- I patched a fractured engine block/water jacket (350 Chevy) nearly 40 years ago. I proceeded to sell the vehicle (w/full disclosure). 🙂 Tom
  5. Sorry to hear this... Aft corner for you guys I'm guessing? Always some vibrations back there as a baseline, can't imagine kicking that up a few notches ! Tom
  6. When I hit roadblocks onboard, I use a VPN. Actually, in a couple of instances, I've also experienced increased speeds (up to 10x) - presumably as they can't bandwidth throttle what they can't see. This all assumes, of course, that they aren't blocking the VPN (have not experienced that yet). My VPN of choice is Hotspot Shield. Tom
  7. What about using a VPN to get around that?
  8. Celebrity casinos have been smoke free (all types) for years.
  9. A couple/few weeks ago I read, with some dismay, that Celebrity is doing a "test run" of allowing vaping in the casino (only on one ship now, as I understand it). I couldn't help but think, WTH are they doing/thinking ?!! Tom
  10. Probably 15+ years ago we were on Celebrity (Century?) and had reservations in Ocean Liners. I had checked as to the dress code pre-cruise and confirmed that a jacket was not required. They appeared shocked when I arrived for dinner (smartly dressed, sans jacket). I explained that I had gone to the trouble ahead of time to contact corporate and confirmed that a jacket was not required. They insisted on putting one on the chair back... 🙄
  11. I actually saw two different Elite code offers - I clicked on the first one, and it showed all the way up to suites (though all lower categories were $100 each) at about $1,300. I clicked on the second one, and for the same sailing (Mardi Gras) it only showed insides and indicated all other categories as "sold out". Well, they're not "sold out", except when using that second code !! So -- no interest here. The only one I could get a suite on was their (sad/pathetic) eastern itinerary. I prefer their western route - as Mahogany Bay and Cozumel at least offer something (cabanas and Pancho's Backyard respectively). Yawn.... I'll just continue to use the other (better) offers I have for many different sailings. Tom
  12. It's bittersweet actually! While we still dress very nicely each evening, it's been sad watching the general decline with so many t-shirts and shorts in so many dining venues.
  13. Interesting that the "world's busiest cruise port" only has two sailings showing on that list (Mardi Gras) - at least on that portion of the list. Tom
  14. Yes, I understand the concept. I'm just wondering what criteria they might use to determine if somebody qualifies for early access. I'm just saying, if it's based on money that's been laid on the table, I feel I should be pretty high on the list! 😉
  15. I'm curious as well - I finally gave my tux to Goodwill after not wearing it for nearly 10 years. I have not worn a jacket in nearly that long as well (Celebrity, NCL, Carnival, Royal), and I'd have to go to YouTube to learn how to tie a tie ! 😉 Tom
  16. Enlighten me - what does "early access" relate to? Being Diamond, we always have early access to online check-in. Tom
  17. But the better question is -- comparing that figure to coin-OUT !! Tom
  18. My mailer indicated the offers go live on 7/13. I just checked on my profile, nothing there yet. Tom
  19. The number of people on a ship don't cause me any concern, it's how the space/flow works on the ship. I prefer a larger ship, everything else being equal, as it invariably offers more options with regard to entertainment, food, bars, etc ! Also, newer = better (again, my opinion)... just not brand new (first couple of months). I'd rather they have completed all details of the build and give it some time for the crew to mesh. Tom
  20. Yes, it was primarily meant to be funny (but at the same time - dogs can pick up on so many things, when properly trained). Tom
