  1. Good question... Do they charge 18% gratuity on a bionic bar drink??
  2. Thanks for that answer. That is exactly what I was thinking. Expect to pay the extra, and be happy if it doesn't show up. 😃 I doubt that we will be going over the price threshold very often as well.
  3. We usually book cruises 1.5 yrs in advance. Our last cruise, pre-pandemic, dropped the price 4 different times, and each time, I called our TA and she took care of it. Ended up saving over $300 after all was said and done. As long as your cabin category is still available, keep checking. 😃
  4. here is another star class question re beverages. If we want a beverage over the $13 price, do we just pay the difference like normal? Or is there no price limit (within reason) for star class?
  5. We will have a Royal Genie when we cruise in October on QOTS. If you have sailed with the genie experience since Quantum started sailing in Alaska, can you share your experience?
  6. Our last cruise was a B2B. While it was fine and the ports were all different, life on the ship was very much like being in the movie "Groundhog Day." Same menus, same shows, same jokes and introductions from the cruise director. We decided on that trip, that we would only do longer cruises from now on. You may enjoy it though. 😃
  7. Can you share a little more about your daughter's experience with finding gluten free. I have Celiac as well, and I am a little concerned. Did she place her order for dinner the day before? Did you eat in any specialty restaurants? Did you eat in Windjammer? I am thinking it is a good idea to stay away from windjammer. I don't want to take a chance of cross contamination. Thanks
  8. I have had a knee replacement, 2 ACL reconstructions, Rotator cuff repair, and most recently, the joint in my big toe replaced. The best advice I can give you is DO YOUR EXERCISES. Hips are the easiest joint replacement to recover from... if you do your PT. My MIL had hip replacement, and refuses to do her exercises, and she is not walking yet. There were no complications with her surgery either. she isn't walking much because she likes the attention she gets. Her surgery was MARCH 10 of this year. It is a nightmare.
