  1. We were going to do one of Australias epic rail journeys a couple of years ago, had everything booked, then some damn virus thing happened and we closed down ! Now we have just got this email about a great rail / cruise / rail trip ! What a way to get around Australia ! Your 28-day adventure begins in Sydney, as you travel four days and 4352km across contrasting landscapes on board the all-inclusive Indian Pacific. After your epic train journey, join Silversea’s Silver Cloud for a 17-night cruise from Perth to Darwin, visiting the Kimberley’s most stunning destinations. Next, join the legendary Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide through the spectacular Red Centre, discovering the people, places and stories that shape the country. Departing 21 August 2024

  3. No such thing mysty !! There is a lot of rivialry between NZ and Aust, and not just in sport ! Aussies take great pride in one upping the NewZealanders at any chance they get so no worries on that score ! As to our food we have such a multi-culture base that we eat anything, we have every sort of cusine here and are lucky to have such a choice ! 🤩
  4. January. 😎 Mmmmm ... you might think it is a bit warm, you better leave the Loubies at home, you need some buggie smugglers and thongs ! And for those that dont know what I am talking about = "The term “budgie smuggler” refers to a small Australian parrot, the budgerigar, that wearers appear to be concealing in their swimwear." Thongs (flip flops to americans )
  5. So when is this traipsing around Bondi Beach happening ??? 😮
  6. Where do Ron and I sign up !!! You got me at the Acca Dacca night - all that head banging !!
  7. a short steel crowbar used, esp by burglars, for forcing doors and windows
  8. We recently spent 54 days on deck 9 !! Who is your butler ? And if you like trivia, you will love Roy Perez, the CD !! He is hilarious !!
  9. On our last cruise - 54 days on the Moon - there was a large group of ballroom dancers and every night in the Panorama Lounge they were waltzing, foxtroting and cha cha charing to the music from the boys in the band.
  10. And we do black tie on Silverseas because we want to, I dont understand why you will do formal wear on Cunard .... but NOT on Silversea !!
  11. The trouble is that is not funny any more now that I am a LoL !
  12. Casual slip on shoes for men and women !! Super comfy 🤩 great for walking !
  13. That looks about 1960s - so perfect for NZ Daveywavey !! 🙃
  14. So STUBBIES in Australia are popular too but ours looks like this =
  15. Topless and a thong and carrying a beer in each hand !!
  16. The world's largest ship named "Icon Of The Seas" sets sail in January 2024.It will carry 5610 passengers and 2350 crew members. It has 19 floors with more than 40 bars, restaurants and bowling alleys; it will have 6 slides, 7 swimming pools and 9 hot tubs. !! NOW THAT IS A NIGHTMARE !!!
  17. And TIE takes up so much space in your luggage !!
  18. We recently had 54 days on the Moon. We had lunch in Kaiseki frequently, and the sushi and sashimi was made to order, they also got a new sushi chef during that 54 days !
  19. Thats a busy week JP !! BUT I would expect no less from you and Chris !! Have a great time 💗🥂💗
  20. I have a very strong "sensitivity" to chilli, bell peppers, capsicum ( ie: I am not "allergic" as in anaphylaxis - but I get some of the symptoms without "passing out ") - so I make sure I dont have these when ordering. But it is on "my profile" so the waiters know if I don't check what is in something I have ordered they let me know and I can change what I have ordered, it works well and everyone is happy !
  21. Totally agree with Mr Luxury ! We started out on the Explorer in 2010, have sailed Cloud and Wind before becoming expedition, Whisper, Shadow, Muse, Moon and Dawn. We always thought the M, M & D were "too big " for us - until we tried them - and discovered we love the "big" ships !
  22. We have just had 54 days on the Moon sailing around the Med. We love the Moon and its crew ! You have quite a few sea days getting to and back from Hawaii ! As others have said only free laundry in a Silver Suite or above, ( or when you hit 100 days ) but there is a free laundrette on every floor. If you do decide to cruise SS, I would definitely book dinner reservations when the bookings open as with all those sea days it is a captive group !
