  1. I don't see why not. These are 2 completely different apps. And Princess states that they are supporting the Medallion Class app until the end of February. So functionally you should be able to use both apps.
  2. Yes. It states it will no longer work after February.
  3. "Making the transition to the Princess Cruises app seamless and effortless - just like our cruise experience. " Laughs in ALL CAPS.
  4. I had to put my Google-fu to the limits on this one, but it's a charter through Imagine Cruising. https://www.imaginecruising.co.uk/holidays/a-star-studded-voyage-exclusive-canaries-sailcation/
  5. Just to clarify... teens up to 17. Once they turn 18 they are no longer allowed in the kids club as they are considered adults. They really should have a category for the 18-20 year olds with their own age appropriate activities.
  6. I have no idea. But late night dancers and partiers got stiffed, that's for sure. At least we have Good Spirits to quench the thirst we work up LOL.
  7. They got turned into a sports bar/lounge and overflow space from casino for more machines.
  8. Head directly to the Sanctuary once you board the ship. First come, first served. Prime days fill up quickly. Cabanas are much easier to get than loungers due to cost. We did the cabana once and didn't feel like the cost vs value was there for us. The loungers are very nice though.
  9. The late night DJ's are now playing in the Piazza on all the Royal Class ships. Spinning the hits until 1-2 am. I speak from personal experience that I wish this was held in the Vista Lounge as a more nightclub venue, but the DJ said passengers complained in the cabins above. So Piazza it is. And it just isn't the same vibe dancing under super bright lighting. However the new Sun which the OP was asking about has different floors for the Piazza from deck 7-9. And I'm sure most of the evening entertainment there will be done by 10 or 11 pm.
  10. Disclaimer, I ordered it off the kids menu LOL. Nothing on the Pub Lunch menu appealed that day. But it was a really good burger. Hand formed patty, quality beef. Not the hockey pucks from Lido Grill.
  11. It started out as adults only, but when they moved it from the Asian market back to the states it opened up to all ages, especially in Alaska as it's the only usable pool. Last year it was full of kiddos on sea days. But the conservatory at the bow was still fairly peaceful.
  12. We'll be on in March of 2025. Way past the initial launch. But we're night owls and heavy sleepers, so if there is any noise we already knew it wouldn't impact us. I'm sure there will tons of feedback for you early on. Enjoy your cruise!
  13. I booked on the edge of the sphere on deck 10 just to have that proximity. We have 10401. And I'm super excited to see this new ship. Granted it's just a deluxe balcony, but these rooms look beautiful.
  14. I've attended this numerous times now where it is held on a sea day in the MDR. Especially on the Royal Class ships. The hamburger is so good. It's on another level from the lido deck burgers.
  15. There are MANY events taking place around the ship on boarding day before sailaway. Live music in the Piazza, lounges open, Medallion classes for newbies, the excursion desk is open, etc.
  16. Princess will have adjusted all the tour times accordingly.
  17. I'm on the cruise just before yours on the 6th. I'm just now looking at excursions. Which excursion is it that you booked, and I'll look to see what the description says.
  18. There will be lots of families onboard. And tons of teenagers. The only problem I forsee is that there is a gaping hole in activities for the 18-20 year old age bracket. Too old for the kids clubs and too young to party. They do have a meet and greet at some point for this age group, so perhaps they can attend. The evening entertainment will be enjoyed by all, but day entertainment may leave them looking to entertain themselves.
  19. You're going to be fine. They're going to have you up walking either day of or day after surgery. And PT is going to make sure that within 3-4 weeks those knees are going to start feeling as good as new. If you follow all your PT instructions, you'll be hitting the stairs instead of waiting for the elevators.
  20. Thank you for that heads up. I did finally get it nailed down from the call center today. They kept trying to say my offer didn't have the Princess Plus, even though the offer clearly stated it. So now I'm set and booking summary is correct. But it shouldn't be this hard to get mistakes fixed. And the outsourcing of the call center out of the country is a disaster. With no way to contact them by email it forces everyone to call, and that is NOT convenient at all. So I shall look into a Princess CVP moving forward.
  21. Don't expect to ever catch an elevator at busy times. Pro tip would be travel against the traffic flow. If everyone is going up, go down. Then go up. If everyone is going down, go up. Then go down. And give yourself plenty of time to get anywhere.
  22. I've been receiving a ton of offers in snail mail for many of the same as above. Hearts offers, tourneys, etc. But got an email offer of free balcony, 650 fp, AND Plus package. Booking was a mess. Only got 400 fp, NO plus package. Call to rectify sketchy, with a promise to call me back 4 days later. Attempt to email casino with issue came back autoreply I've never seen before. "Thank you for being a valued Princess Cruises casino guest. Please note this email is no longer monitored. For all of your casino reservation needs please call 888.772.6697 to speak with one of our navigators. Hours are Monday - Friday 7:30AM - 5:30PM or Saturday 8A-5P PST Sincerely, The Princess Casino Contact Center" It's not looking good for dealing with anyone outside of the call center. And most of those interactions are difficult to say the least. If anyone has a better email contact than casinoinquiry@princesscruises.com I'd sure appreciate it.
  23. No, it was very quiet. The Retreat area is very small up there and there are only about a dozen or so chairs.
  24. Some random thoughts and observations halfway through the cruise. The internet still isn't great. The app isn't working properly at this time. You can place food and drink orders, but they'll get canceled. Unless you're watching the app you won't see it. I had 6 orders canceled. And I can't tell you how many times passengers walked up to the different bars to see why the order they placed 45 minutes ago hadn't been delivered only to be told by staff the app wasn't working. Princess did finally get more servers out proactively taking drink orders old school style halfway through the cruise. But those first few days were frustrating. I had an order randomly show up in my room after I got back from dinner that I had placed 4 hours prior. One night my cruise mate bit into glass in her blueberry cobbler. We notified the dining staff right away to let them know they may not want to keep serving it, and they were amazing, checking to see if she needed medical attention. She was fine, but they were on top of things immediately. They brought her a different dessert right away. The Royal class ships need a dedicated late night disco like Skywalkers. The Piazza is not an intimate late night venue. And they're no longer using the Vista Lounge because of the staterooms above it according to DJ Anthony. If Princess is going to actively market to younger demographics, they're going to need activities past 1 am. The Planner says 11 pm til Late. But that late was exactly 1 am every night, despite 20+ people still wanting to dance. And no bars were open after 12:30. Even land bars serve until 2. Every night Good Spirits gave last call at 12:30. So if you like late night action, be warned that the ship shuts down early. I almost felt like I was on Holland America.. except they shut down at 10.. so I did get a couple more hours.
  25. I will catch you all up on the rest of the cruise tomorrow night. Can't wait to share Ketchikan with you.
