  1. According to this Turkish government webpage, you will not require a visa to visit a port during your cruise: https://www.mfa.gov.tr/frequently-asked-questions.en.mfa Same information from this website: https://www.easyturkeyvisa.com/news/evisa-for-turkey-on-a-cruise#:~:text=Do I Need a Visa,3 days (72 hours). If still in doubt, contact the Turkish consular offices in Ottawa: https://www.mfa.gov.tr/ajax.tr.mfa?8tnNtorVLBlHkq0Nw5d7KBS10fmvwXxrpmMTwBCPTbhfneUWQQzt2RL3+OiWx1GNZlSRkaKhyzgv94wj3eJtQJCvuVrAZyUlNn0NZaD6Abg=
  2. I too have switched from Home Trust VISA to the EQ Bank card with its several benefits.
  3. Another option to consider is the bus from the Ottawa VIA rail station to YUL. Depending on your actual flight time, you should be able to find a reasonable arrival time without too little or too much time before the flight. https://www.orleansexpress.com/en/ Something I used to do regularly, back when Mirabel was my airport for business flights to Europe, was to rent a car. Although that can be pricey with drop off fees, I'd ask if they had any cars from the airport that they'd like returned and often would get a decent price. Same thing on my return, I'd ask if they had any that needed returning to Ottawa. I'm guessing that you live in the Gatineau area, so it might be more convenient renting one there instead of Ottawa, but I've not priced it out.
  4. Ah, that makes sense to me, now that we have the details. Flying to the US is only an option, and it's offered for your convenience in the event that you have a flight booked. You go to the airport, do the CBSA interview and then the US interview in the preclearance area. In the meantime, you still have the option of driving as you are doing. Yes, I agree. I've not seen the details on a resolution of the issue of arming of US agents at our airports, but allowing them within the pre clearance zone sounds like a viable compromise.
  5. Can you expand on this? Perhaps quote the information that you were provided? It really doesn't make any sense that you would be required to fly to the US at any time in order to be interviewed.
  6. IIRC, it took about a month, but that was quite a number of years ago. Like you, ours came in the regular mail, no need to sign for them.
  7. If you are truly signed out, you can read any of the main forums but you can't post. For roll calls, you can neither read nor post if you are signed out.
  8. One option would be to purchase a refundable flight on Air Canada. If West Jet flies, you cancel and get your money back from Air Canada. If West Jet is on strike, Air Canada will get you there and back and you won't miss your cruise. Yes, a refundable flight will cost more, but it beats missing your cruise.
  9. 1. The Space Needle is about a 50 minute walk, Pike Market 60 minutes. 2. The West Coast Departures forum (https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/315-west-coast-departures/) should provide the information you're looking for, as will Google. 3. Yes (https://graylineseattle.com/hop-on/sightseeing_pass/?gclid=CjwKCAjw6IiiBhAOEiwALNqncWpGcZx7V33XSM3wbzcVatPXZPXruQ75XEQ4VQogQMfYHGuKR5bJ9hoCNmcQAvD_BwE)
  10. We've stayed at the Pan Pacific and the Fairmont Waterfront a number of times and enjoyed both. On our last visit, we stayed at the Auberge and enjoyed it too. All three are excellent choices for a pre- or post-cruise stay, and no shuttle is required.
  11. Thank you. With "Digital Key", I was able to do a search and find past posts/threads. Sounds like a work in progress.
  12. In your post on the Cruise/Travel Insurance forum, you provide a great amount of detail, but leave unanswered a few critical pieces of information. For example, on your outbound flight that was scheduled to arrive in Athens on embarkation day, did you make any attempt to have NCL change the flight to the previous day? Did you even request arrival the previous day when you first booked with NCL. By the sounds of it, you simply decided quite belatedly that the flight time was too tight (agreed), but instead of dealing with NCL to make a change, you went off on your own to book different flights. If NCL couldn't/wouldn't accommodate your preference to arrive the day before, criticism may well be warranted, but there is no indication in your post that you made such a request and were denied. For your return trip, once the initial flight departure was delayed and you missed your connection in Heathrow, did you contact NCL to make the necessary arrangements for new flights? Based on your post, it sounds like you again took matters into your own hands and made some costly decisions without asking NCL for assistance. Maybe you did contact them and they couldn't/wouldn't help you, but if so, you don't reflect that in your post. I wish you the best of luck in trying to recover some of your losses, but based on the information that you have provided to date, I'm not sure that advising CC members to "Absolutely do not use NCL to book your flights" is warranted.
  13. After several years of using my Apple Watch to pay for everything from gas to groceries, I almost never have to pull out a credit card from my wallet. I look forward to the day when cruise lines, like financial institutions, offer this card alternative. In the meantime, I'm not going to wear both a Wow band and my Watch, so no band for me.

  15. I suggest that you repost your query on the Roll Call for this cruise:
  16. Two issues right off the bat. First, if it is a contract, how can they change it unilaterally for those who have already booked and agreed to the terms of the existing contract? Secondly, Royal needs to employ proof readers, particularly when it comes to publishing contracts. In the Canada-based contract, the legal section dealing with jurisdiction states that litigation will be: IN AND BEFORE THE COURTS OF ENGLAND AND WALES, TO THE EXCLUSION OF ALL OTHER COURTS OR TRIBUNALS. There are similar errors in other paragraphs in this section. It sounds like they did a cut and paste job and forgot to makes the necessary changes respecting location. As the whole purpose of the exercise is to customize each contract for specific countries, this is amazingly sloppy work.
  17. I agree totally. We almost never take ship excursions, but we were happy to make an exception for this one.
  18. We took what appears to be a very similar excursion with Holland America in 2015. We visited the ruins first, which are well worth seeing, then drove to a hotel on the beach where we had lunch and then a couple of hours on the beach before heading back. I highly recommend an excursion to Tulum if it becomes available for you.
  19. You might want to have your TA verify that information and provide you with its source.
  20. Crazy. And just in case you are wondering, it hasn't reappeared for my cruise.
  21. I'd suggest posing your question on the Princess forum. If you do a search first, you'll probably find multiple threads addressing the issue.
  22. While you may get some replies here, you would do better to post the same enquiry on the NCL forum. There are undoubtedly many threads on that forum already addressing the issue that you might want to read.
  23. I see one of your earlier posts asking the same question has been transferred over to the roll call. I think that Host Kat's suggestion to use the Follow feature is a good one.
