  1. I so agree with the storage problem. And hate the closet a foot from the bed. Also hate the useless bedside tables with no drawers, everything slides off and ends up on the floor. Awful design for a ship.
  2. We felt the same way about the 4 low ceiling dining rooms, felt like we were in someone's basement. One and done with Quantum class. It's ashamed since Bayonne is only 1 1/2 hours from us. Just tried Oasis out of Bayonne in October. First time on Oasis class, didn't have high hopes after Anthem. Turns out we LOVED Oasis. Central Park was just fabulous, all the dining and entertainment venues, water show was amazing. Can't wait to go on Oasis class again! The only time it felt crowded was the first day when everyone is wandering around. Also trying to go to the MDR for breakfast or lunch, LONG lines. Really ridiculous, still don't understand it. Still, love the ship.
  3. Back from Oasis and really loved the ship. The Central Park area is so lovely. Don't think I've ever enjoyed a ship more. Didn't love the amount of people, lines for the MDR at breakfast and lunch, lines at El Loco (never got to eat there because of it), lines at Windjammer depending on our timing. Elevators were rough going too. Still, we would sail her again, but not during times where there are many children/families. Just wanted to report back on the specialty dining. We purchased the 3-nite dining ahead of time and received 1 night dining from our TA. We felt 4 nights of specialty dining during a 7 night cruise was a bit too much for us. Too much food commitment for us LOL The food was excellent at 150 Central Park but our waiter forgot about us so came away with meh. In his defense there was a very large demanding table next to us. Chops we ate outside in Central Park and it was wonderful food and service. Giovanni's was really good too, had a nice table by an open window looking over Central Park. Went to Izumi (not hibachi) and it was fair in our opinion. Still, glad we tried it. Also had lunch at the BBQ which was excellent and had live music. The dining room food was good, can't say very good/excellent but came away satisfied. I reserved the ultimate dining package for our upcoming 12-night cruise, so I think I might cancel that and grab a 3 or 5 night dining package.
  4. I really appreciate your thoughts on Oasis class. Our favorite class so far is Freedom and then Voyager class. We tried Anthem and we were disappointed which is why I'm a little gun shy about the size of Oasis. On the Anthem, maybe it was just an off week, but most of the venues were only open for a few hours. Actually had to go up to the pool deck to get a drink on occasions during the day as all the other bars were closed. Really odd/annoying. There were an insufficient amount of bartenders when you did find a bar open. We really didn't like the three separate main dining rooms with low ceilings, not special at all. The promenade lay out was awkward and always crowded. Looking forward to spending time on Oasis and Serenade!
  5. Oh, I didn't realize the menu's would be available in the app before the cruise. I will definitely do that.
  6. Thank you for this. That is great to hear. You've confirmed many glowing reviews about 150. We also have gotten away from heavy meat dinners. Plus, our next cruise is a 12-night on Serenade where only Chops, Giovanni and Izumi are available.. So, that leads me to think maybe we should contain our specialty picks to restaurants only available on Oasis class. This cruise is our first on Oasis class and I'm not sure if we will like being on a ship with that many people but we will soon see. We are definitely sailing for the ship/not the itinerary!
  7. I was thinking about that myself. But I have to say, on celebrity summit in July the lobsters were tasteless. So I don’t know if we would really be missing out.
  8. Purchased the 3-night dining package on Oasis. Will book once on board. Wondering which nights are best for specialty restaurants. Formal nights or not? Thoughts? We've been to Chops and Giovanni's a few times on other ships, so also wondering if I should just book restaurants we haven't been to before, like 150 Central Park and Izumi.
  9. Thanks for this Benny!! We are following along... We board Oasis the 23rd, maybe we'll run into you in the Diamond Lounge!
  10. We are in the exact same situation with our upcoming cruise. I keep weighing that $100 more. Haven't bought the key yet though.
  11. That’s good to know. We haven’t sailed HAL yet.
  12. That's sad to hear. It was complimentary on Celebrity Summit in July but of course that is an older ship.
  13. Thank you for that response. That puts it in perspective to me! It just floors me to pay an additional $600, but we cruised in July (first cruise since covid) and realized the dining room is suffering with low staff and limited items. We were on Celebrity but I'm sure it's like this on all lines at this point in time. So looking more into dining packages is the way to go for now... I think I'll purchase it now while the price is reasonable. I can always cancel and repurchase if I see a better price in the future. It's a year away.
  14. I've been reading through this thread trying to determine a decent price for UDP for a 12 night cruise on Serenade of the Seas. My planning page is showing the UDP for 12 nights for $300/pp which is $25/pp a day. I feel 12 nights is a long time to go the the dining room every night yet I don't think there are many specialty dining places on Serenade so maybe he UDP would be repetitive too? I hate adding another $600 to our cruise but maybe the price is actually worth it? We did get a nice deal on the cruise itself. Any opinions? We've never been on the Serenade but have been on Jewel OTS.
  15. Can't seem to find any info on this. Is there a NO CHARGE sauna or steam room for men on the Oasis?
  16. We have booked balcony cabin guarantees three times. Twice assigned nice cabins in lowest balcony category, once nice cabin in two balcony categories above, One of these cabins was a connecting cabin which I was not thrilled about so I called my TA and he called RCI and had our cabin switched. So, if you don't like what you are assigned there's a chance you can change it I think.
  17. Thanks for this suggestion! I paid $20 ahead and see on the ship it’s $26 or more. I will add a device for a day so at least I get to use my Diamond benefit.
  18. We are newly Diamond and I already bought the surf and stream for our upcoming cruise. Do we get a credit for one day?
  19. Thanks for your responses everyone. So helpful. I reserved the three night dining for $101 per person.
  20. Thank you so much for the great pictures Twangster!
