  1. I'm quite willing to be open to the idea of the CD making a difference in my cruise... as I mentioned I was intrigued about Matt Mitchem because I'd heard so many positives about him but Cookie just seemed to go out of his way to put off everyone he interfaced with... I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for our Jubilee TA if he is indeed our CD, but I'm not going to book or avoid a cruise based on a staff member.
  2. I honestly can't think of anything that would be a 'deal breaker'... some things happening last minute would be a disappointment, other things might make me look for a different ship, itinerary or sail date... Now I have my PREFERENCES- balcony, 7 day or more, newer ship, cruise date with fewer kids, cheaper cost, new ports... but hey, I'd take a 3 day Bahamas itinerary in an interior on the oldest ship, if it meant I could cruise! Now He Who Will Sulk (as opposed to She Who Must Be Obeyed) often overrides many of my options! But since it means I'm getting a cruise, I don't usually complain!
  3. I've had both connecting and non-connecting rooms but I found little noise from the connecting door. Now the sound of the noisy neighbors slamming their front and balcony doors incessantly is a different story!!
  4. Wow- how experiences can differ! I've never gotten really jazzed about any CD, definitely never booked a cruise because of one... but I was kinda looking forward to our Vista cruise a few years ago because Matt Mitchem was the CD... so I was surprised to find that he'd been replaced for our cruise by Cookie. But I figured, meh, whatever... Well, all I can say is it was pretty obvious to us and all of our other cruise passengers that Mr Cookie DID NOT want to be on that sailing... he was irritable with kids (who were not doing anything wrong at the time, just patiently waiting for the ice cream machine to free up)... he excluded a bunch of folks intentionally from some of his activities on the sports deck (in spite of it being for all ages in the Fun Times he decided that anyone under 18 couldn't play basketball any time he was on the court)... he promised us a group photo from a meetup that he promised to attend, he showed up late, but at least he showed up... but he called the organizer a liar when she asked about the photo... at first he blamed the photographer, then the organizer... To each his own, I guess... but I got tremors when I heard that he might be on Jubilee- I'm on the transatlantic sailing and unless his attitude has improved, I'm not looking forward to any interaction with our CD...
  5. Benny to the rescue- just when there was a dearth of reviews I'm following, along comes Benny to give me my 'fix'!
  6. Does anyone else agree with me that a different choice in color for this water spout would have been more appropriate????
  7. I'm not fond of the flavor- texture is okay, the whole sheep's stomach is no big deal... but I find it's too... too... too something for my taste! peppery, maybe?
  8. Loving your review as always @BennyBrun! We're doing a transatlantic out of Southampton in Oct 2023 so all your info about flying over there and where to stay pre-cruise is so helpful! Which leads me to my question- we're thinking of booking Delta's Premium Select (can't afford Delta One with these oil prices!)... what did you think of Premium Select? Do the seats recline sufficiently to make such a long flight relatively comfortable? Do you get priority boarding with Premium Select? Would have loved to have seen more pics of Southampton- unlike you we're spending our pre-cruise days there and we might take a day trip to London...
  9. Really? I could find absolutely nothing related to this weather event causing deaths at all, in Havana or elsewhere! What's your source @broberts? Just interested in seeing the details...
  10. Nothing extreme with the weather here- just lots and lots of rain in central and southern FLA... a bit gusty in the south. And as someone said earlier, by the time you dock, the storm they wanted SOOOO badly to name will have moved on.
  11. I agree, GP! I was thinking the same thing- so much better looking than the ultra thin slice of cardboard on Carnival!
  12. Not sure about Virgin but Carnival explicitly tells you to leave it in the hallway outside your door.
  13. @sid_9169 here's my suggestion- go to Guest Services and make them help you with the app to see your next cruise so you can fill out the Health app... assuming they can do that, I bet your booze purchase would show up for your next cruise!
  14. Whew- I was hoping I'd catch up on Day 1 so I could comment how much I loved your Mardi Gras leggings! So glad to join you on yet another Willdra and W adventure!
  15. So I looked it up- for a mere $3770/mo you can have a 1 bd/1bath 800 sq ft apartment in Solitair- no problem, right Sid?
  16. Shoes- # 4 pic... I feel like I could pick you out of a crowd now, @Saint Greg!
