  1. Julie,

The process has been the same for us whenever we cruise in a suite, so I would say it is the standard procedure. Just wait in the Michael’s club as long as you wish. You may even want to enjoy your last breakfast in Luminae, although it was busy in the last morning.

    Enjoy you first Suite experience.

Thanks for the info...and I WILL ENJOY!

  2. When we are in no rush and in a suite we enjoy not rushing!

We put the main luggage out the night before but keep one small case for last minute stuff.

We will go down to Michael's at about 8.30 after saying goodbye to room attendant and butler. We will enjoy a coffee, pastries and a final Bellini whilst those in a rush can rush off.

The concierge will take groups of guests down as they arrive. When he reports the rush is nearly over we will then leave, calmly and quietly (usually about 9.15). Our cases will be in the nearly empty suite area and even queues for buses to car hire or taxis to airports are past the manic stage.

DH and I will be enjoying the Suite life on Celebrity for the first time next month. We are only in a Sky Suite, but this certainly does not lower our excitement and anticipation of all things Suite. Is the Disembarkation process from Michael's Club pretty standard? We do not need to rush off as we are staying an extra night in MIA. On previous cruises we found a seat in a quiet area as the Elite Disembarkation lounges seemed crowded and uncomfortable. Thanks in advance. Julie

  3. I'm glad you're enjoying it. We went to the North Shore yesterday and I have some photos of that to post but I'm not getting very good wifi reception out here on the beach.

I have a question please...I am aware of where the ship docks in Honolulu. Can you tell me if port or starboard faces Waikiki? Thanks

  4. I agree that the first ping and glass of bubbly is the beginning...everything prior to that is a little stressful for me. The end is sometimes softened by spending an extra day in the disembarkation city. It makes the ensuing chaos of "get off the ship and to the airport" a little less anxiety producing....at least for me it does. One of my favorite household chores is laundry so I actually do not mind that task upon returning home...going through the mail and credit card charges on the other hand...blech!

  5. Hello Cruise Critic friends! Believe it or not, I have never used spa services ( except a one time overpriced Mani) but I am considering it for our upcoming cruise. What I am interested in is lash application and liner...does any one know if they would do such a thing or should I practice more?

  6. It's good info...I would not have even thought of this possibility. We used Uber in MIA in March and were charged 20 dollars more ( on my credit card statement) than the estimate. Of course, it was credited after I complained. I did not get a receipt so I thought I would have trouble proving it. Are receipts provided if I ask?

  7. We have our first suite booked for November. I have always wanted to try a suite but could not justify the cost difference. I am now of the belief that my comfort and enjoyment will be enhanced by the Sweet life and I want to give it a go. I may not always book a suite but, I bet I will be hooked. Just like when I flew FC for the first time...once you go first, you never fly coach...at least that is my case.

  8. Can anyone tell me if there is a specific board related to the newest Empress of the Seas sailings to Cuba? I've been looking for what people are planning to do on the island and how the first sailings have been going. I am also interested in knowing when the 2018 sailings would be opened up. Thanks in advance, Julie

  9. I really enjoy these threads... So many learning and added convieniences are offered. I like the "Doo dad tray" idea. I am often to tired to put my embellishments away before I jump into bed...And I have certainly found earrings and such on the floor just waiting for the vacuum. I am scouting out a "valet" for our next cruise for sure.

  10. May I add a tip that I find very useful? I struggled for many cruises where to put the worn clothing. I did not want to mix them with the clean ones. I bought a collapsible hamper...At the dollar store. It fits nicely in my suitcase and tucks away so soiled clothing is out of site. A fabric softener sheet keeps it fresh smelling till it reaches the washer

  11. Seems like we all experienced some dining room service malfunction...Which I attribute to the change over from timed to anytime dining. We have enjoyed anytime dining on Royal and Norwegian and Celebrity just cannot seem to get it together. Like you, I noticed other tables getting the "royal treatment" and we were left to raise our hands for attention. Because of this issue, we have dined more frequently in the Buffet and speciality restaurants. We have tried Blu and, the service is stellar, but not our kind of food. Our next cruise is in a Suite so I am anxious to give Luminae a go. Regarding San Juan...our party rather enjoyed our day, albeit even better if we had more daylight. We did not get wet at all (except for perspiring) but were prepared as it certainly looked like rain. We managed to hike our way up to San Cristobal and enjoyed our visit there very much, then we returned to the shops and finally some PR cuisine. We returned in time to freshen up and watch sail away and then attend the later show. I would call St. Kitts a bust. I felt more harassed by locals than Jamaica and Bahamas combined. Will not get off the ship at this port in the future. St maarten is St Maarten...overly busy and better if you have your own transport, which we did. We hired an all day van to take us where we pleased. DS got very sunburned (did not wear sunscreen so what are you gonna do) so her remaining cruise was a bit uncomfortable. Me? Slath on the SPF 50 and keep applying. No amount of tan (or burn) is worth the misery of pain and peeling). Too bad about Tuscan Grill...I have always found their food and service to be excellent. We did not eat there on this cruise however. Julie
