  1. I have 4 cruises booked right now and checked them all...all them very slightly more except one...it was the same price.

the WOW sale fine Print says new bookings only...but I called...and she instantly added the $100 onboard credit to the booking....so FYI....if anything is the same price....call and get the credit added.

Only if the price is the same? What if the price is now higher?

  2. Looking for any experiences for a Royal Caribbean ship tour. We need to be back on the ship by 11:30am so figured a ship's tour was safest. If you have done this, what did you think? Also open to other suggestions for our last morning in Bermuda. Thanks in advance for your help!

  3. I would like to arrange one in advance, but it looks like Jesse James only leaves from St. George. Are there any glass bottom boats that leave from Dockyard in the evening--after dinner-- say around 8:30 or 9? There is a ship's tour but would rather do one on our own. Thanks!

  4.

You may know this, but.....just in case....you can contact the British Heritage Society and get tickets to enter Stonehenge in the morning before 9 AM or in the evening. Walking among the stones is surreal (a word I almost never use for anything)!! Other times of the day, you only get to stand around the perimeter and gaze into the Stone Circle across a distant fence.

We had an awesome day!! Have a great time!

What a great tip -- thanks!

YOUR ONBOARD LOUNGE BENEFITS JUST GOT BETTER

We are excited to introduce an expanded Crown & Anchor Society benefit for you during your upcoming cruise! In addition to the nightly receptions at the Diamond Lounge and the Concierge Lounge (for our Diamond Plus and Pinnacle guests), you now have the flexibility to enjoy happy hour at a wide variety of bars onboard.

Your SeaPass Card will be pre-loaded with three complimentary drink vouchers for each night of the sailing, which can be used during nightly lounge hours. Toast your way around the ship, on us!

This expanded benefit will be slowly rolled out across the entire fleet by Fall. Kindly note, drinks vouchers are not valid in the main dining room, the Windjammer Café or in any of our specialty restaurants, and expire daily.*[/QUOTE]

Yay! Thank you Royal Caribbean -- a very nice benefit.
  6. On a Panama Canal cruise we had 9078 which is the same size and configuration as 8088. If memory serves me 9078 is right above 8088. I was really excited about the extra space but I ended up not liking it at all. The long side is a big steel wall and I did feel like I was in a cave. Because the room and windows are so far back, I did think the cabin was darker.

It was just the two of us, so didn't really use the extra space. No sun that I recall for laying out on the loungers. My DH did fall asleep out there on a lounger one night!

I don't remember the noise bothering us. We are pretty sound sleepers, though. Everyone enjoys different things, but I would never book this or a similar cabin again.

  7. No pins for Emerald. Received our Diamond pins onboard first cruise after becoming Diamond. Not sure I will ever wear them, but I collect pins so nice to have. I agree about the balcony discount, free drinks, etc., but the one of the nicest things was our cabin steward went out of his way to congratulate us on our new status and thank us for being loyal customers. Sometimes you just want to be appreciated. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/images/icons/icon7.gif

  8. Personally I go on many cruises (my 53rd is next week) and I don't feel that is a great bargain, its regular price to me. January is one of the lowest seasons in cruising, that is another year and a half away, the ship will become older, new ships will come out I feel that you can get a better deal next year on her, if not the same type of deal in the worst case.

Personally I would not book up a cruise that far out, anything can happen and prices are just getting better on the older ships as newer ones are coming out.

Have to agree. Decent deal, but not worth it to tie your money up for that long. We have cruised January last two years. Last year, we booked after the final payment and got a great deal on a balcony.

  9. What they show on the website is the average price for the first and second passenger. So take the full price multiply by 2. Then subtracrt the 50% off one. Then divide by 2. That averaged oit price us what they are showing online. A bit tricky yes, but easily understood.

So if I am understanding right, multiply the full price of $980 x 2 = $1960. Subtract half of $980 which is $490 and that gives me $1470 which I divide by 2 and get $735 ---still higher than the $660 listed.???

  10. I checked on a booking Freedom of the Seas for January 2015. This is the price shown for an inside cabin: (I am copying and pasting from Royal web site.)

    Interior

Relax in all the comfort of our interior staterooms. These nicely appointed rooms are an excellent value.

    STANDARD RATES FROM

    $ 660

    USD

But when I go to book, I get this: (I chose Q, the lowest price.)

    Stateroom Stateroom Total $1,655.30 USD

    Guest 1 Guest 2

    Cruise Fare: $980.00 $980.00

Taxes, fees and port expenses: $93.15 $93.15

    Discount: $0.00 ($491.00)

    Per Person Total: $1,073.15 $582.15

    Why isn't it?

    Guest 1 $660

    Guest 2 $330

Taxes, fees, and port $93.15 each

    Total $1170.30

    What am I missing?

I have tried this with several different bookings, cabin choice, etc. and every time $500 or more is added to the booking.
