We are sailing through a part of the Bahamas on Mariner right now. Cruise has been good, crew excellent. Captain Serena is hoping to be at Terminal E by 6 am. Have a wonderful trip!

Thank you again for your blog and CC posts. I am enjoying them so much with the added plus of your pictures. I hope Navigator can avoid the worst of the weather. On Mariner now where we booked our first Navigator cruise due greatly to reading your information and talking with several people on board who enjoyed their Navigator experiences.

We just booked our first Navigator cruise (London-Amsterdam 2019). Itinerary and reading reviews like Gilly’s, talking to passengers on this Mariner cruise, and reading a world cruise blog convinced us that we would enjoy Navigator as much as we enjoy Regent’s other ships.

My husband and I spent a lot of time at dinner in Compass Rose on Mariner tonight talking about managed expectations. We have not had as many issues as Flossie but we have had a few. For us, TV was most frustrating—mounted on wall but no wiring, after many phone calls and personal visits to Reception, we now have usable TV and husband can follow the Masters! Veranda is paint spotted and needs to be power washed.
Something in the bathroom ceiling is missing. Safe was locked, but staff quickly solved that. Many staff members promised to call us back concerning the TV. We would have been very satisfied with updates. Hearing nothing, we kept bugging them, taking up more of their valuable time. Whatever the issue, clear communication either good or bad saves time and manages customers’ expectations.
And . . . We are having a wonderful time!!

I am so happy to see postings from the Mariner! I do have one question about boarding. Was boarding for Seven Seas Suites and above as well a Gold and above Seven Seas Society members? This is what I heard would be the case but red to check before I "advertise" the pre-boarding for Regent's loyal customers.
Thanks much! Enjoy every moment of your cruise.
Jackie, we did not know the circumstances of others in our very short line. A Regent employee looked at our documents and directed us to the blue carpet. The terminal staff then called us to the next open desk. Enjoy the last days of your cruise. Safe travels home. I always enjoy your posts. Jan

We are not newbies to either Regent or Mariner, but I thought this would be a good place for very first impressions. Boarding was easy. We were sent to the blue carpet line, not in a named suite, Penthouse and Gold, not clear what the criteria was, but appreciated it. Everything smells new! Same carpeting as Voyager that there has been so much discussion about. New mosaic tile around pool. We are very happy to be back “home” on Regent! Time to unpack.

We have enjoyed your posts and pictures, thank you. Hope we get a chance to meet you on the crossing. Do Boogie & Kasia stay on Explorer, any chance they are transfering to Mariner?
-
Wes, thank you for posting the Coffee Connection pictures, beautiful! We will be boarding in about 4 hours. Very excited to see the “new” Mariner! Happy to answer any questions. It is a lovely day in Barcelona, perfect for a sail away. Jan

So exciting! Looking forward to boarding on Wednesday.

We were on Explorer’s third cruise, all was fine, had a wonderful time.

We are booked for an Alaskan Cruise in Mid June on Mariner
- Is the Mariner "refresh" still happening in April?
- What is the scope of the "refresh"? Public areas? Do the Suites get Updated?
- Any info available would be appreciated.
-Any negatives of cruising right after a refresh?
Thank you in advance for your input and advice.
We board the refurbished Mariner one week from today in Barcelona. I have every confidence that she will look beautiful—suites, restaurants, etc. Enjoy your Alaskan cruise and the Regent experience.

Safe travels, Flossie. Looking forward to the comparison of the two TAs. We are on the Mariner TA. I will look forward to meeting you, Jan

We have always enjoyed playing trivia on Regent. Our teams have been comprised of people we meet onboard often as we walk into trivia on the first day of a cruise. Best teams have been a mix of nationalities to cover many topics. We have never played with anyone who could answer all of Ray’s Harry Potter questions :)! Prizes are Regent Points collected from various activities throughout a cruise, redeemable for hats, umbrellas, tee shirts, travel logs, etc. Give it a try to see if you enjoy it.

Safe traveling! Have a wonderful time. Looking forward to reading about your experiences.

Thanks for the pictures! We are also on the April 4 cruise, less than 3 weeks now.

We like the large walk-in showers available on the Mariner. I believe on the deck plan those suites have stars identifying them. Also like the larger outdoor area off of La Veranda as compared to Voyager and the location of the Coffee Connection.

Another one, Shanghai, on the Huangpu River overnight, great light show, walking distance to The Bund.
-
Wonderful review, thank you! I really liked the reminder of the wonderful collection of pictures along the passageways of Explorer. Each day, or cruise, you notice something different.

Just thought of a couple more—Halong Bay for Hanoi, Hong Kong harbor especially if ship is docking at Ocean Terminal. Enjoying recalling a lot of the ports mentioned. Great Regent memories!

I would add Stockholm, sailing through the archipelago.

Glad to hear this about KK. We reluctantly canceled the Cloud Forest tour for fear that it was too much for us. But are planning to go to the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore.
So glad you will be doing a blog also.....I fear mine gets rather dull. Have a safe trip, see you on the ship!
forgap, thanks for the heads up about the Gardens. Dick is really having problems with the heat this trip.
Carolyn, your blog is not dull at all nor are your pictures! I have been reading it every day, sometimes sharing events with my husband. This is in a “subtle” effort to convince him a world cruise is in his future. Jan

Juno56, I too would love to hear more about your cruise. We board following refurbishment and would particularly like to find out which crew are onboard currently and staying on for the Transatlantic back to the States. Thanks for any info you can share.
I second this request as we are taking this TA also. Thank you.

We had various crew members (production staff, casino managers) on several of our included tours. However, this has not happened in the last few years. Last time I remember was in 2014.
