Which shots did Medicare/supplement cover? Do you recall?

We are traveling right now on Mariner (wonderful wonderful cruise!) so do not have records at hand. I know I received typhoid and some of the hepatitis shots and believe they told me that yellow fever was available at one Walgreens location in the Greenville SC area. Medicare covered the typhoid and hepatitis. They were prescribed by our dr. because she knows we travel frequently.

We have received some of these shots/medications at Walgreens in SC. The pharmacist worked with Medicare and our supplemental insurance—all were covered. 

We agree, internet has been surprisingly good!

Currently on Mariner for 36 days in a standard suite. Here are 2 pictures of the desk area showing the corner cabinet for glassware and the drawer configuration. Two drawers with a deep cabinet underneath. Found places for everything. Had requested a small dresser, which was in the suite when we boarded. We did not need it.

We are looking forward to boarding Saturday also and are curious about the answer to the question. Thank you to Rich, papaflamingo, and Wes for a very entertaining thread with wonderful commentary and pictures. 

What a wonderful post especially for this time of year. Boarding a Regent ship always feels like coming home to us. Those smiles and familiar crew members recognizing us make our day! And, those welcomes will be coming our way Saturday in Sydney. Now, we just need our power back on here in Greenville to finish last minute trip prep!

We took the Goree Island tour in 2014 from Mariner. A very sobering tour, which we appreciated. Having lived in SC for many years we also noticed the colors of some of the homes, reminding us of Charleston, and the basket weaving, which was very similar to the sweetgrass baskets of the SC Lowcountry. Of the Regent tours we have taken, this was one of my favorites.

Additionally, I am enjoying your posts as well as 1982CruzStart’s (love the title, feel the same way!). We met you on the Mariner TA in April, and I think we may be on the same cruise this summer on Navigator. Thanks to both of you for posting wonderful pictures and commentary. Jan

Goree Island is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and was the centre of the slave trade 350 years ago. Thank you for your final review and your fun-to-read blog and pictures. After enjoying all other Regent ships, we will take our first Navigator cruise in July, so I was really interested in your ship comments. I like cool rooms also and am hoping, maybe naively, that the cool (Norway, North Cape) itinerary might help. We are also in Deck 6.

Your pictures were a great way to start the day here on the East Coast! Looks like it was a special celebration helped along by some of the wonderful Regent staff and crew and friends. Really enjoy your daily summaries, thank you.

I agree about checking included air versus one’s own air. For the Australia Circumnavigation, we took the air credit, purchased our own business air tickets and saved about $1,500 with no restrictions. Sometimes this works, sometimes it doesn’t, but it is totally worth it to check.

Regent Points have provided us with many items that we use frequently—hats, good long sleeve tees, travel umbrella that has gone with us to lots of interesting places, etc. Plus, it is really fun to earn them through various onboard games, like trivia, shuffleboard, golf putting, etc. Our Regent travel umbrella recently went to the Chihully exhibit at the Biltmore in Asheville, NC.

The Regent pen that is available in the room (and from reception) is actually a very nice pen, it has a good weight and writes very smoothly - I am somewhat of a "pen snob" in that I am left handed and still do many things long hand so the comfort of the pen is as important as the ink flow.

 

On another note regarding airline amenities, BA first class now has Liberty of London amenity bags which are really nice and the perfect size - the pattern on the ladies kit changes every few month so some have become quite sought after. Kudos to the designer because it is one amenity kit I look forward to receiving because it is so nice.
