We were on the Splendor from 22 September to 6 October and it was amazing. The ship is beautiful, the staff amazing and the reduced capacity did not detract at all from the enjoyment. There was dancing and karaoke and trivia and loads of people took part. We felt incredibly safe - the testing of crew and passengers gave us added comfort (the Splendor travels with its own independent testing team who are very gentle and professional) and although mask wearing is required it is just not an issue and is second nature after the first day. The entertainment was brilliant - everyone agreed it has gone up to another level, both with the highly talented entertainment team on board and the guest entertainers. For those who have travelled before with Regent there were lots of familiar faces- John Barron was cruise director and just brilliant, Boogie and Kasia and the Regent Signature Orchestra. Great pianist in the Observation Lounge called Andrew who did a great 'Guess that Tune' a couple of times. The head sommelier Georgiana (employee of the month and amazing) did a fantastic champagne lunch with matched champagnes to the food and we did two cookery lessons both of which started with a cocktail (bit of a theme here I know). Yes there is more chance of countries changing requirements of entry at the last minute, including testing and sometimes stops have to be missed as a result, but given that during the dark days of the pandemic most of us thought we would never be able to get on a cruise ship again, it really is a small price to pay. We were very sad to get off and will be booking another one very quickly. I would urge anyone who knows and loves Regent to have faith that they will give you the best time ever.
I second everything you said about the cruise. We began September 11 and left Splendor on the 6th. Enjoyed ourselves tremendously. The champagne lunch was amazing, and Georgiana’s presentation was relaxed and knowledgeable. I hope Regent continues to have a successful return. We will be on Mariner, December 18.

All of these items were in the wooden box in our Penthouse B suite when we boarded Splendor on September 11 (still onboard). Bear was perched on top. On the bed was a sealed package containing a cloth Regent mask (sturdy and washes well) and an additional small bottle of hand sanitizer.

No contact tracing on September 11 & 22 cruises.

This is a personal decision for you. Our desire to travel outranked the masking requirements. We have been on Splendor since September 11. Enjoying ourselves tremendously, even with masks. On the ship, masks are worn in the hallways and in and out of bars and dining rooms. At La Veranda, buffet items are served to you. You must have a mask on while choosing what you want. I keep forgetting that, a gentle reminder sends me back to the table for my mask. If you feel the mask requirement (could change by your cruise) would not allow you to enjoy the cruise, then maybe waiting until it permanently goes away might be best.

Showtimes have been at 9:30 pm on the first 2 cruises. Yes, you can eat with others not in your party; don’t know if there is a number limit. We have dined with 2 other people several times.

It is great to hear all the wonderful experiences. How did the muster work? Were there changes there?
No muster. Video instead. Once on board, check in at your muster station where your name is recorded.

We have enjoyed the stargazing experience on a Panama Canal cruise where the guest lecturer was not only a Canal expert but also an amateur astronomer (Mariner) and on the Circumnavigation Australia, previously mentioned.

We were told she is on leave and will return to either Splendor or Explorer later this month or in October.

I did my GE renewal by Zoom, also. My husband’s was renewed with no issues, but alas not mine. It took a few weeks for the Zoom interview option to appear, but once that happened, plenty of times were available. It was easy and my new card arrived within a week. Ready to leave in a week to board Splendor!

Does anyone know when Regent is planning to release their itineraries for the second half of 2023? We are anxious to see what will be available for June of 2023 since it will be our 40th anniversary and The Boss is threatening me with severe mental and physical trauma if we do not celebrate our anniversary onboard. Thanks to all in advance for any info you may provide.

We have the same question for the same reason, our 50th. Really, really want to celebrate on a Regent ship.

September 11 changed to Lisbon-Bilbao.

Another place near Barcelona is Montserrat, beautiful monastery built in to the mountain and some interesting vineyards nearby. Easy trip from Barcelona.

I searched this forum for the answer but I was unable to find the thread. I remember reading that navigating from the cruise port to MIA can be daunting. In your experience, what is the earliest we should book flights post cruise in MIA? We don’t mind waiting at the airport, we do mind the anxiety of possibly missing our flight. That being said, we don’t want to sit at the airport 5+ hours.
thanks for your collective wisdom!
We have had good and not so good experiences but always been at airport in time for early afternoon flights. Best experience was after a Mariner 2018 TA, when we walked off the ship at 8 am and found an immigration station for Global Entry. We were on our way to pick up a rental car in 10 minutes.

We are on (or hope to be on) the September 22 sailing. It is a little unnerving based on the UK regulations at the moment (we plan to spend about a week there prior to embarking), but will closely watch the situation regarding allowing fully-vaccinated people from North America to enter the country without quarantining. Regent has always met or exceeded our expectations and we feel that they will continue to do so (perhaps even more so given the situation) when cruising resumes. Will there be some modifications or slight bumps in the road? Likely, but we will adjust accordingly…been there, done that, did not buy the t-shirt! A lovely glass of champagne can cure so many woes!
Well said! We feel the same. B to B beginning September 11. Hope to meet you onboard.

January 2020. Cloud, South Georgia/Antarctica. Perfect trip. Superb expedition staff and crew. First SS cruise. What a way to start!

A favorite Regent cruise was Reykjavik to Copenhagen on Voyager. Living in SC, I loved that weather was cool. And, we saw lots of Puffins in the Faroe Islands. Both Reykjavik and Copenhagen are worth spending extra time in.

Our favorite Regent cruise was the Circumnavigation of Australia Dec./Jan. 2018-19. Good staff, crew, lecturers, and passengers. Regent went “all out” to make the cruise special from traditional onboard activities—Country Fair, ship barbecue, benefit auction, etc., to special events—preCruise dinner with animals, New Year’s Eve in Bali, Australian Open. And, we got to Sydney and home without incident!

Three cruises cancelled—July 2020 Navigator, December 2020 Navigator, April/May 2021 Explorer. Five reserved, starting with B-to-B September/October Explorer; hopeful, but won’t be surprised if this is cancelled. No FCC’s. Looking for some good news!

We were slated for Explorer's April-May segment, Tokyo to Vancouver, B.C. (with 3-day add-on at Tokyo). Initially booked this about a year-ago, to include independent air and such. But, yesterday, bowed to reality. Explorer remains in the 'Med, treading water. Too-many segments preceding ours have already been canceled. So--upon consultation with our TA--
"Transferred" the Tokyo visit from 2021 to 2022. This will (hopefully) be aboard Mariner for a 20-day "Volcanic Sights & Glacial Heights" segment from Tokyo to San Francisco. Was able to keep the 3-day pre-cruise add-on at Tokyo. Hope for some cherry blossoms.
So--this makes the third cruise cancelled either by Regent or us since March 13th. The first was to be aboard Splendor at San Diego incident to our 50th wedding anniversary sailing, San Diego to Miami. Well, at-least we got to Regent's San Diego hotel.
Hold-out some hope for our October-November Mariner Barcelona-Miami segment.
In the meantime, will have the vaccine.
GOARMY!
We very sadly cancelled the same cruise(s) last week. No way Explorer is sailing from Tokyo on April 6. Moved it to 2023. 2022 is hopefully already filled with wonderful Regent cruises. We were going to Tokyo early to visit friends we met when we lived there. Looking forward to seeing them in 2023, which will be our 50th anniversary.

Thought World Cruise information was to be released today.

We have happily booked excursions for two cruises, and in September will book ones for a b-to-b. We are well aware that this is “magical thinking,” but it is fun to do. Besides, maybe something wonderful will happen, and we will actually sail on at least one of these!

Did you go over to Lucky Bay with the kangaroos on the beach? We spent a week + in the tip of Western Australia in 2009 touring and love the state. Didn't make it that time to Esperance but would love to go back there for a week or so. For our money you can have the tourist beaches around the world.
We got to Esperance on the Mariner Australian Circumnavigation in 2019. When I am asked about favorite places Regent has taken us, Esperance is first. Took a wonderful all day tour in a school bus. Lucky Bay and kangaroos were one stop of many beautiful beaches we went to that day.

Splendor anyone?

It was four ports. St. Malo and Tangier were announced before cruise began. An extra day in Bordeaux was added and a sea day for Tangier. Biarritz and La Coruna, tender ports were the other two.
