Wow! Thank you for your great review.

Rachel, Judi Dench? I think we were at the same wine estate in 2021. If I’m remembering right, I think both sons married American women.
Your reports are bringing back wonderful memories.Thank you.

After 2 hours, we arrived in Southampton. I had booked a room at the Hilton at the Ageas Bowl which is a cricket pitch. The hotel is actually built into the stadium, and our room has a big balcony which overlooks the field. It would be very cool to stay here during a match, even though I know virtually nothing about cricket. Unfortunately, no match was on for today.
We stayed there in 2021 when Regent returned to sailing. And, also wished we could have seen a match. @Gilly and her Hero picked us up for a day of sightseeing, really special. Next day we were off on B2B Splendor cruises. Quick cab ride to the port.

He is when it suits Mrs Fudge!! 😀 Depends what you call service?
Mr. & Mrs. Fudge, love your reports! We are also on the April RT Tokyo and then on to Vancouver cruise. I am looking forward to hearing all about your cruise experience. Happy sailing!

We lived in Japan for 3+ years and will be there in April on Explorer. I’d recommend a sincere thank you to both driver and guide. Definitely put tips in an envelope. Either or both will be appreciated.

This is such a good itinerary. We enjoyed it on Splendor in September 2021, when Regent returned to cruising. Looking forward to reading your reports. Happy sailing!

In June before a Mariner cruise we stayed at the Hotel Monument, centrally located, nice rooftop space, good restaurants, easy walks to many attractions. Service, especially the concierge service was excellent. We booked through AmEx, not Regent.

I just posted the above with my first ever photo attached! It was one of the very early “post lockdown” cruises on Splendor. We were at La Veranda lunch on day one. The attitude of our amazing server was shared by all the crew and all the passengers!! Perfect expression of joy that I, and most everyone I encounter continue to share on Regent!
We were on the first post locked down cruise. It was an absolute joy. Your picture is perfect!

Vitacura, I have really enjoyed your posts and photos. We spent a month on Mariner in June and agree that the staff and crew are wonderful. Many of them are still onboard, some heading out on leave when you dock on Sunday. Safe traveling home. And, the soufflés are my favorite desserts! Thank you.

With whom did you make this request? Is this something our TA can handle when the time comes? We fly to Venice from ATL. I’m assuming our first leg will be something like ATL to JFK and then JFK to Venice. We are ok with that but really want our preferred airline (Delta).
We are going to Venice in November for the Grandeur cruise(s). Having lots of AmEx points we booked a one-way flight through them. At first it was Delta CLT-JFK-VCE, great. A few weeks later it became CLT-JFK-AMS-VCE, not great at all. So, at least in November Delta does not have a direct flight from JFK-VCN. When we have used Regent Air we have been booked some times on Delta. Because of where we live we fly out of Charlotte or Atlanta, whichever flights work best.

In Copenhagen, it is very feasible to do and I have done more than once. The resistance museum is nearby and worth seeing. Copenhagen is a great city for walking.
Seconding the recommendation for the resistance museum!

We were in 1114, PH-A, in June and had no issues with the suite.

We also did the same cruise last summer. Once we got over Covid 😬, we enjoyed the remainder of the trip, especially because good friends were onboard also. Enjoy your cruise!

Got you posted (finally - running slow on these, sorry) And yes, that was quite possibly us at Schwaben Haus - I can't be sure of the date but that sounds like it's around the last time we ate there. You didn't pick up our check, did you?
Hah! So sorry I only put it together after we got home. When’s your next cruise? We’re on Grandeur in November. Thank you for creating and maintaining these ratings. I use them frequently.

@Lenbro1944 we just got back from our third evening at Høst which was as good as ever - except for the absent friends 😪. It's a popular spot, both with locals and those just passing through, so reservations are essential I'd say. Once more, we opted for the five course tasting menu with wine pairing and I'll write a blog with photos as soon as I can on my personal blog (because this is something I want to remember) Nothing disappointed, The flavours were as fresh and "different" as I remembered and each course was a delight. I feel sure you won't be disappointed - unless you are expecting something more than a fish focused Nordic menu with inventive herbal flavours!
And, the friends wished they could have been there! What a delightful dinner we enjoyed at Host with you just over a year ago.

Mariner, 1114, 1 bath, walk-in shower, no noise, absolutely; quiet, near pool deck & La Veranda, really liked this suite
Bill, on May 25 were you at Schwaben House in Greenville? We spoke with someone while waiting to be seated about Regent. After we got home, I thought it might have been you. Jan

Before our Barcelona to Istanbul cruise that began May 30, we stayed at the Hotel Monument, boutique hotel, part of AmEx preferred hotels. Well located, nice rooms, excellent friendly staff.

We are in a PH A, 1114, now. Everything is in good condition, though dated. Our balcony door does not look like the picture. I think the curtains, sheers, and bed skirts have been replaced. We’ve been on Mariner a lot in a variety of suites. This is our favorite.

I believe they left in Rome.

We did a similar cruise in September 2021. I took clothes to layer and then warmer weather clothes as we went south along the coast. As I remember, we lucked out with no rain, although I had a rain jacket with me and a lightweight jacket. We experienced no weather like the warm Septembers we have in SC😊. I believe the Pool Grill dinner option is no longer available on Regent ships. Yes, it was warm enough to eat at the pool Grill during the day. Wonderful itinerary, enjoy!

We are on Mariner now, anchored in Sicily. Boarded in Barcelona May 30, so we have had some time to experience the cruise(s) and the ship. We have not encountered any of the issues cited in this thread. Everything in our suite works well. Service is Regent excellent. Food quality and temperature is fine. But . . . as much as we enjoy Mariner, she definitely needs to go into dry dock. Decor is tired, although we feel some of the soft goods in our suite had been recently replaced. Especially because Mariner does interesting itineraries, we would not hesitate to sail on her again.

Yes, January 2020, Silver Cloud, South Georgia Island and Antarctica. Excellent expedition cruise. The expedition staff was superb. In 2025, we reserved a Silversea expedition cruise from Chile to South Africa with several days at South Georgia.
