Another 'southern' South Carolinian! How do you like Greenville? We've been here about 8 years and have been very happy here.
We’ve been here 11 years and enjoy Greenville a lot. Headed out in a week or so for Ireland and then to meet Navigator in Copenhagen. Our 14th Regent trip, guess we like it😊.

Greenville, previously Callawassie Island

Pcardad, if that was the situation, then Regent should have communicated clearly to the passengers. This is not acceptable. It is better to deliver bad news honestly than ignore what is obvious. Cancellation of the cruise and subsequent cruises should have been an option.

Glad you're on board @irishwitchy! I smiled when I read you'd dined at Host because in about a month's time, on the night before we board Navigator in Copenhagen, @briar14 and I will be there too! Great choice of restaurant 😎
Here's hoping all the mix up is resolved and that your cruise will soon begin in the style you'd like it to continue! Thanks for taking us along - we're with you in spirit 🎉
And Briar14 and DH are looking forward to it!

I sure hope things improve as we board in July. Copenhagen to Amsterdam.
We also board in Copenhagen and are hoping the same thing. If it’s as disappointing as our December Mariner cruise, we may be looking for another cruise line. And, we are Regent fans of 20+ years. Looking forward to meeting you!

ChuckTownSteve, thank you for this posting. We board Navigator for the first time in July. After many Regent cruises on all their other ships, we experienced our first disappointing one on the December Mariner cruise. I will be very interested in your thoughts. Have a wonderful trip!

GO ARMY!, we share the same TA and I was very disappointed to read your post. I cannot imagine having to carry $8,000 cash home with me. If that is the case, it might be time to find a new TA. I am hoping that there is an option for Regent to write a check onboard during the cruise and I can deposit that check whilst onboard.
Marc
PS I have a hard time with change.
We have the same TA and have heard nothing about this. Five reserved cruises. Next one July 23.

Thank you so much for all the excursion suggestions. Techno 123 your photos are lovely and helping us to get even more excited about this cruise. CruiserfaeFife we will only be in Edinburg one day so it will be a difficult decision on whether to go to St. Andrews or Stirling Castle both sounds wonderful. GOARMY we will definitely do the Titanic Trail. Lonedaddy we will be very interested in hearing about your cruise in May. Although surprised to see that masks are back....disappointing. Briar14 what time frame were you sailing and how was the weather?
We were sailing in September 2021. Weather was cool but pleasant. No rain!

We did this cruise in 2021 on Splendor. Of the ports that are the same—Edinburgh, Holyrood Palace and Britannia; Belfast, the Titanic Experience. Enjoy this interesting itinerary!

R&T, email me with any questions. Address is at bottom of my post.

We love Regent, but they are not in the expedition business. So, our Antarctica expedition cruise was with SS in January 2020 and included South Georgia Island. It was 5 months after a knee replacement. I am a super klutz, have arthritis, and did fine. The staff and crew want you to have a good, safe experience. They cheerfully help you as much as necessary. I agree with Timeflies, a wonderful, exceptional adventure. I would also be happy to answer any questions.

For your Antarctica question—if you want to put feet on the ground, walk with penguins, get up close and personal with whales, seals, etc., an expedition cruise is the way to go. On Voyager you will see the beautiful scenery but miss the excitement of the Zodiac excursions and an experienced expedition staff. It all depends on what you prefer to do.
I would choose the cruise that had the most appealing itinerary for my interests. Good luck!

Probably not a ship's excursion but when you are in Edinburgh I can highly recommend a visit to the Royal Yacht Britannia - https://www.royalyachtbritannia.co.uk
Royal Yacht Britannia was offered as part of an all day tour on Splendor in September ‘21. It was a great tour beginning with Holyrood Palace, lunch, finishing with Britannia.

Were they ever closed on any of the Regent ships?
They were certainly available on Splendor & Mariner in December.
And in September and October.

1914 canal, most recently in December on Mariner.

Regent Marketing, have you read Joanie’s posts?? She really nails it as to why so many of us are Regent fans. I hope I get to travel with her some day.

I certainly agree with Debra. GP, your posts are fun to read and make me smile, remembering all our wonderful Regent experiences. Posting takes time, especially with pictures. Appreciate your efforts!

GeorgiaPeach, your post #86 describes all the reasons we sail on Regent again and again and again! I am enjoying seeing Regent through your experiences. Wishing you a wonderful cruise.

So amazing that you had the same cabin attendant! Can’t believe how on top of everything she was and how she quickly learned our nuances to make our cabin perfect twice a day!
And . . . She decorated our suite beautifully for my birthday and followed us when our suite was changed. I would have loved to get to know her better, but Covid restrictions kept that from happening. She is very professional and competent.

Macbest, thank you for your posts. We loved Suzanne on our Sept/Oct Splendor cruises. A Regent treasure!

We are also Crystal refugees. I have to say I am completely frustrated trying to book excursions. I keep getting bumped out of the site. Have spent hours. I hope the cruise is better than this experience
Call Regent with your excursion choices and an agent will reserve them for you. Many times this is the most expedient method.

The Splendor suite on Splendor has a sofa bed in the living area. There is a separate bedroom, so no impact on living space. We have not had a sofa bed in a standard suite.
Watch out for London Heathrow !

Used an Apple Air Tag yesterday at Dublin airport. Said suitcase was 28 ft. away, which it was!
