  1. You are very fortunate, I looked at all 4 of our future cruises and every one is higher in cost than when we booked. Our 2024 NZ cruise is over $1000pp higher.
  2. Thank you for the report, that does sound encouraging that Celebrity is listening to feedback. BTW you said the ribeye was very good, the picture looks good, the ribeye served on the Reflection last August was so tough we couldn't cut it with a steak knife. There were many complaints that night over the beef quality.
  3. As do we, the classic wines are a pitiful collection. We drink gin martinis and only with the premium gins.
  4. This was from a late 2022 article on future cruise ship builds, so it is current.
  5. All of our cruises in the last 2 years have been in the Retreat with the PDP amenity and just for the wines by the glass darn well worth it. On the Reflection last year, I was also to get 12-year-old Mccallan scotch for the $15 per shot price. I love good whiskeys and the PDP has a nice selection compared to the classic offering. For just drinking vodka I see no reason to upgrade.
  6. We will be on the Edge next year for NZ/Australia cruise and if still on the menu I may try the Kangaroo.
  7. Many like the MC suite and it is only obstructed when the magic carpet is moving. They have a slightly larger balcony and a different cabin layout. The bed is facing a side wall instead of being up against the bathroom and facing out towards the balcony like the other SS's.
  8. Patagonian toothfish is so much better than lobster and I would rather eat it than any lobster dish on a cruise ship.
  9. Patagonian toothfish brings up images of some pre-historic monster fish in my mind. Not this:
  10. It looks like there will be a fifth E Class ship in 2025, but nothing ordered beyond 2025.
  11. When it is time to renew, if you have a CC with most airlines, that CC will pay for precheck. Last year we did Global Entry which included TSA Pre-Chek for $100pp and my United CC reimbursed us for the cost. The Global entry we used in Atlanta last year returning from Venice and it took less than 5 minutes to get through customs in Atlanta. TSA Precheck by itself is $85 so for $15 more you get Global Entry added.
  12. The app for our June Equinox still shows that awful Moroccan Chicken Tagine!!🤢
  13. It is now farm raised in both Chile and even in New Zealand, so it is back on menus. Took 12 years to develop the farm raising techniques. Farmed Chilean sea bass ready for primetime - Hatchery International
  14. Who would ever eat a toothfish? We like Chilean Sea bass, and it does very well in our air fryer. Here it costs about $35lb in local stores. "Chilean sea bass isn't a bass at all, it's a Patagonian toothfish".
  15. After this April 22 the S1, S2 & S3 designations go away. They will be replaced by Sky Suites, Magic Carpet Sky Suites, Aqua Class Sky Suites and Sunset Sky Suite depending on the ship.
  16. Here in San Antonio, Branzino, when available at HEB, is about double ($10-$12lb) the price of Tilapia. In Italy Branzino is all known as European or Mediterranean Sea Bass. Last year we had it many times in Italy and Greece. Also had it in Luminae on our cruise and it was delicious and well prepared.
  17. If flying from Venice, I would recommend spending the night in Venice. Last year we did that because the best flight connections to the US are early morning ones. We had a Delta flight from Venice to Atlanta that left Venice at 8:30am. We spent the night at the Courtyard by Marriott less than 5 minutes from the airport. It was reasonably priced and had a fabulous Italian restaurant on site. It also had a free shuttle to the airport.
  18. I believe the difference is how and where the two are farm raised. What Is Branzino? (thespruceeats.com) Is tilapia fish good for you? Safety, how it is raised, and benefits (medicalnewstoday.com) Branzino is a better-looking fish too and very popular in restaurants in Italy. I do not recall seeing any Tilapia being served in Italy.
  19. My sister who is Elite Plus with Celebrity tried one MSC Yacht Club cruise and her opinions about MSC were very similar to yours. She usually sails with Celebrity in a Celebrity Suite (CS)
  20. As others above have stated you should have all the premium perks along with your OBC. Your invoice from Celebrity should have something that looks like the following:
  21. I would agree cruising from Rome is a little easier. Last year we did cruises from both Rome and Venice. We never use the ship's shuttles, Celebrity charges too much and we do not want to spend time on a crowded bus with 30 or more strangers. Last year in Rome we used Bob's Limos for private transportation from the airport to our hotel in Rome and then from the hotel to cruise port. We were a group of 4 and Bob's cost us half what Celebrity wanted.
  22. If the Luminae ever has an entree that features Tilapia with Kale, I am done with Celebrity. 😁
  23. First of all, I am a Texan but do not own a pair of cowboy boots, they are uncomfortable and too dam hot to wear 9 months of the year. Fortunately, we do not get too many icy mornings here too.😇
  24. Do you know the best way to sauté Kale is to add coconut oil, it makes scraping it into the trash much easier.😂
