I thought Malecon21 looked amazing and one of the nicer looking places we seen there. I think if we go back, we might end up going there for the day. Blue Kay is not what it used to be and looks so different and "cluttered" IMO. So sad. Taxi's were right out front after you get out of the port. They are where the trolley cars were. We didn't have to walk down the road like you used to do. They were lined up on the street and I'm not sure why our driver didn't take us all the way in. I'm honestly not sure where the gates are but no one stopped us to ask for our ship card or anything to go in. We just walked down the sidewalk and in. I thought it was strange there was only a three taxi's parked (backed in) at the turn around area. The only other thing that was there were golf carts in and out. Do you have a fb account just for your cruise blog? Or do you use your personal and share it? I've been debating setting one up. I think one of my issues with finding my pages on a google search is that I have A LOT of pages that are hidden from my menu. This is because it sticks them at the top bar across my page and I only want the main topics to be up there. So, I don't think a lot of it shows up when searching for it. I've tried looking into the SEO suggestions that Wix gives me and correcting a few. But I think it told me I have some crazy amount of pages...like over 6000 or something off the chart. I did look up updraft and it looks like it works with Wordpress. So that counts me out I believe. Wix makes sure that you are screwed when using them I guess. When I ask this question on Wix, this is what they have to say: Currently, it is not possible to back up your site externally. Wix is committed to ensuring the safety of your site, and we have created the Site History feature, which automatically creates site revisions every time you save or publish. This means that you can go back to a previous version of your site any time you want. You can also duplicate your site at any time to create a manual backup in your Wix account. Be aware that the duplicated site is not automatically updated when your update your original site. I tried to upload a picture like you did to my website and it was a LOT of work and then it didn't turn out right. It copied everything together and has a scroll bar on the side of the picture. Our last sea day and going home pages are now completed. The review is done. I wanted to get everything completed because I have a 4 day 12 hour shift work week coming up starting tomorrow and didn't want to leave everyone hanging. Yea, I signed up when it was free. Then I ended up upgrading it because it was lagging and every so often I would get an "out of space" error and have to restart it again. This was happening A LOT with the last few reviews and I thought it was the site. So, I upgraded. I would later find out it wasn't the site but my computer being out of memory or something like that and not fast enough. I built a new computer and it's been fine for the most part since then. Yea, it would definitely be a big hassle to move an entire site over to another provider. How do you get your google ads to pay for the site? Enlighten me what you do to make that much. How do you back up your website? I thought the host automatically does this for you but how do you keep it yourself? With my site, I wouldn't be able to delete every so often and the pictures I put in my reviews are one's that I pick out from hundreds that I don't share. It would be too much for sure. But nothing I'd ever be able to delete in the future for more space. I also want to keep the website as it is (even if some things or places are not longer there) because it also serves as memories for us that we can go back and look at. Kinda like a journal for me of all our trips. All my pictures are on my computer and saved but I'm not sure how I would put pictures on a hosting site and then be able to use them within the review? To put a picture into my reviews, you have to download them onto the site. When you say you host it somewhere and then put a link, that would mean everyone would be clicking the link and going somewhere else to see the picture. I need the picture to be within the website and flow with the "story" if that makes sense. Your way wouldn't work for me right? Well thank you for that. I appreciate it. I'm going to check out the blog link you sent when I'm done with my review. I'll take any help I can at this point. I have searched everywhere on the internet and can't even locate another travel website (that isn't a blog) like mine. I wonder why? Just everyone is doing blogs? I honestly can't figure out how the blogs work or how to find stuff within them. I just don't think it would work for me. At least not the way I have my website set up. 😞 Yep, you don't have to have trauma to the eye for it to detach. There was no trauma what-so-ever. It usually happens to older people (I have a patient now with one) and it usually happens to people that have had nearsightedness during their life. He was nearsighted all of his life until he got lasik to correct his vision. It has to do with the way your eye is shaped. Now he will have to have lasik again in the future to correct it again. His eye is still red and weird looking at this point. He did go to the eye doctor and got a contact for that eye. He's still not seeing well out of it and he says there's a "hump" in his vision. Like if he was to read this, he'd see the words going up in a hump in the middle. Without the contact, it's completely blurry of course. When he drives now, he has to turn his head a little to the side so he's using his good eye mostly to see. 😞

Sorry I haven't been on this week or updated the website. This week is my 4 12 hour day work week and it's been hectic. I've also been battling with a little depression since the weekend...let me explain. I think I mentioned earlier that I received a notification that I was over my pictures GB limit on my website and I was getting a countdown that, after that, I would no longer be able to put more pictures on my website. Well, I went into panic mode and started trying to get more pictures ready and started downloading them onto the website before I was no longer to do so. I managed to get 2 more days downloaded on there. However, it's going to be a hot mess because when typing up the review and trying to find the picture that corresponds to that post is like searching for a needle in a haystack. Scrolling through tons of photos downloaded just to find the right one and repeat. (I normally download the picture as I go along) I upgraded my website 2 years ago and had to pay for premium in order to continue with the website. I'm supposed to have another year left of my subscription. However, since I ran out of storage, the only option is to upgrade again. My current storage was for 20GB and according to my website, I have used 51GB of it already (after this last panic download of 2 more days worth). The only option was to upgrade to the 100GB and that was going to be very costly (3 year subscription was $2125). I was astonished at the amount and not sure what to do. So, I have been looking into other options for moving my website to another place and server. However, that doesn't provide to be a very good choice either. I would have to pay a monthly fee to the server of $18.95-$28.99 a month, but they stated that once you get over 10GB, they would ask you to reduce your size or ban you (like I'm already 5x over that amount) and then I would also have to get a new website which would be around $45/mo (or $1,620 for the 3 years). So still looking at around $2,000 either way. Then Wix makes it VERY hard for you to transfer your website to another place and server so basically you pay another place to do that for you and they will recover all that they can...of course for a price. Which leaves you going page by page to see what was missed and manually entering that again. They like to nickel and dime you to death. I pay for so many extra's involved on the website to begin with on top of that and my domain name that this is just getting ridiculous! They make it very hard on someone like me and it has really got me down wondering what to do at this point. I've been so down about it that I didn't even want to work on the website at this point. The hubby has been trying to lift me up and tell me that we will figure it out. 😞 So anyhow. I just wanted to explain why there's been such a delay. It's not like me. I'll be working on it today and trying to get up another day: Belize, by sometime today/tonight. Please be patient with me while I figure this all out. I'm sorry. 😞

Oh that's awesome! I have yet to go to the "B" but hopefully some day. Happy Anniversary! I didn't know about the Uber drivers. We have been vacationing all during Covid and have never ever ran into an Uber driver that didn't take the luggage in and out (and that would be the case when we returned as well). It just caught me off guard. Good to know about the billing. Maybe that's why they were so quick to refund me. It's always good to know these things. Hmmm, I've never thought of that. I have only ask them if she will get the same as us and I guess I assumed that she would have the same points. I would think so ?? Because she was still on the same cruise and we still paid for her. It will be interesting to see I guess.

Thanks for the information and I was looking at Wordpress but after checking into it, it said it didn't have any limitations on space however it also states "Accounts with an excessive database size, like 10GM total usage, would be in violation of our Terms of Serivce and Acceptable Use Policy." If you exceed the usage, you will be ask to reduce your usage and can be terminated. I'm already at 50gb. So that won't work. Also, I'm unsure how the photo hosting would work. My photos are used within the written reports and all over the place vs just going to a photo album. Would this even work like my site is set up? I honestly don't want a blog. I find it confusing to look at or look for something even when I'm searching on someone's blog. I would rather keep it as a website. I just unsure of what to do at this point. I hate to lose everything I've worked years on but yet can't continue to post on it unless I pay to upgrade, which is $2,124!! (They have you pay for 3 years) on top of all the other things I already pay to have on the website.

I really wasn't sure where to post this, so I thought I'd try here. I've been cruising steadily since 2010 and created a website several years ago with my travel reviews. They are very picture heavy. They give our day to day travel, either by land or by cruise ship. I have the website divided up into tabs at the top, that contain various information to help those that come to the site, for things such as the cruiseline, land vacations, hotels and so on. You click the tab and it will take you to that section where you will click on what you are looking for. I tried to make it as user friendly as I could. I have a lot of followers from around the world. HOWEVER...I used Wix to set it up. I've paid quite a bit of money to upgrade and upgrade and now it's become so ridiculous to pay for that I am looking for something else. Wix has a limit on GB and they said I've doubled my limit and need to upgrade again. Can anyone suggest something else that I would be able to use instead of Wix who has put a limit on my GB? Something affordable? I know it would be a chore to transfer everything from Wix to a new site (and wix doesn't make it that easy and I'd have to do it page by page on the back end with the html), but I'm in the middle of a review and it won't let me go further. Open to all suggestions please. I'm not a website builder savy person, which is why I went with Wix. Also, it's NOT a blog. It's an actual website. Ok, our first sea day is up and live now. I'll start working on getting our first port day put together. I took so many pictures and videos, so this may take a bit of time, so be patient with me.

Well, I have the next segment done...Day 3 (or day 2 on the ship) but still have to proof read it and then I'll make it live. I just received a notice from Wix saying that my storage is full and I've used up my 20 GB and will now have to purchase more. UGH! I wish they had just a pick how much you want and pay but nooooo they have a monthly fee. I never realized they did this and you were limited when I signed up. Well, I guess I got a few years use out of it. It says I have 3 days left to decide and then after that I won't be able to upload any more pictures. Couldn't it have waited until I was done with this review? Geesh! Way to throw a curve ball at me. They are constantly wanting money for everything on that site these days. I feel like maybe I should look for another provider but not sure if all of my information can be transferred over somehow. I would hate to lose it all. Any suggestions on a website? Or do I just suck it up at this point. 😭

No, this cruise was April 8-15th. They are doing good. Grandkids are getting really big now, especially Brayden who is about 6' tall now. He towers over all of us. Kendra is super busy all the time with Kambriah in competitive cheerleading and hip hop so she's traveling everywhere with her most of the time. She did say she's wanting to cruise again but finding the time...whew Hopefully you'll get your upgrade since it's not really during a holiday. There was just no hope for me. lol But it was worth a shot. Yes, I would imagine the breakfast is about the same. I should have taken a picture of it. We didn't end up eating up there this time but I did stroll past it one morning and they had your normal eggs, bacon and so on. I did hear of a Beatles tribute and also heard it was not on there anymore. Do you know where they had it at? Was it nightly? I could look at the daily to see if I see it on there (which I'll be posting in each days review). I'm going to have to look up what the ship was like prior to the refurb. That would be interesting. Yes, I agree about the deck being pretty narrow and some people on both sides would lay their chairs down flat and it would make it next to impossible to get by with that many people. Haha, I'm glad I wasn't the only one struggling with the placement of the tv and closet door. It was a constant battle for sure. The other gripe I had about the closet was there's no light in there! You can't even see what you are digging for on those shelves. I had to use my phone light several times to find anything and other times I actually grabbed everything on the shelf at once and pulled it all out onto the bed to pick out clothes then put them back. LOL

Ok, it's been hectic lately with working 12 hour shifts several days in a row and I finally get a day off today and I use that term lightly because on my days off, I still work for my other company. So....I have managed to get my ship pictures up now (link at the bottom of Day 2 will take you there). See, getting up at 5:15am does have some benefits. After work today, I will try to start working on our second day on the ship, which is a sea day (but considered Day 3 of my review). I'll post here when it's up and running...so don't forget, the link at the bottom of the ship pictures will not go anywhere until I'm done with the next segment and I'll let you all know. 🙂

Ahh, that's awesome! Glad you are enjoying it. Maybe some day you'll give scuba a try. Maybe try doing snuba so that it's easier and no tank strapped to your back and not going down as far.
