  1. They did not have the trolley running in April when we were there but I had an accident (broken leg) several years ago and had difficulty walking after that and all we had to do was ask for a wheelchair and the cruise staff wheeled me down the pier before. I would ask the cruise line about it if there's no trolleys.
  2. I used Island Marketing when we went and looks like they have changed their name to Belize Cruise Excursions. They have Goffs listed on their website. Our experience GOFFS CAYE
  3. We have done both and loved them both. Both islands are similar and very small and primitive with few amenities. I would highly recommend either place. I have reviews on both if you're interested. They have tons of pictures included. GOFFS RENDEZVOUS We have been to Caye Caulker, but it was during the shark ray alley tour and I believe in order to snorkel there you have to go out and around, but there are boats in that canal from what I remember so I didn't find any snorkeling there but maybe I wasn't in the right spot?
  4. Goffs is beautiful. We went several years ago and used Island Marketing (which when I click on their site now I think they renamed their site to Belize Cruise Excursions). But I would recommend them. HERE is my review with pictures from that day if you are interested. Also, I will mention that we have used Shore Excursioneer for other tours in other places.
  5. Awww, don't let this experience discourage you. I've traveled with my kids and their kids before (total of 12 once) and yes it can be hectic but it was amazing experiences. I coordinate everything we do on cruises and they just follow along (even though I have a non-punctual daughter for everything she does). 😄 If you ever need ideas for port stops, I have plenty on my website. I love helping others out with ideas.
  6. This post was from over a year and a half ago. We already flew with them and had a decent experience (or about the same as Spirit). I feel like ALL airlines nickel and dime you with charging to pick your seat/class or paying extra for luggage. Southwest doesn't do that, which is why we try to fly with them but sometimes they don't go to where we want to go in the Caribbean. 🙂
  7. We did not come across any places there that would be uneven paths or hard to maneuver and I have a "bum" leg with several surgeries. There's just a lot of walking involved if you want to see everything. Maybe that's why? But it's super easy to do.
  8. We were just there (land vacation) and the remodeling was still going on. The day we were there, I didn't see anything open, including the food stand, even though people had been posting that they were open. We've been there in the past and it has changed a lot. New buildings, cleared out a lot of the greenery that used to be there. It felt more open. The water was very murky and tons of sea grass (not complaining about that...just that most people visit places where the water is crystal clear and blue). You can find my review located HERE with pictures of the place now. (It's a little ways down on that page).
  9. We ended up going with White Sand Watersports on our trip and they did an AMAZING job! Enjoyed every bit of the tour (Stingray City and snorkeling the reef). (We ended up going with them due to a special deal/discount we got with them that just made sense to use them instead of Native Way this time around). We only had 6 people on our boat and it was like a private tour.
  10. We loved My Bar at Sunset House as well. It's a really big restaurant (outside and under a roof for most of it) with a huge bar as well, right on the water. You can see the ships in port. The food was really good. If you like to snorkel, you can do that there as well. Just pay attention to your bills at any place when they come, they add on the tip to it and if you don't know that, you'll be double tipping!
  11. Absolutely and he will still be able to see all the stingrays. The water is crystal clear and you can see them swimming toward the boat as soon as you pull in.
  12. I personally loved Public Beach. We just did a land vacation to GC and went there and it was very pretty and still along that area with 7 mile. The water is gorgeous and was crystal clear and the sand very nice.
  13. I have not recently went with them but have been in touch with them (Sharon) within the last month.
  14. I would definitely pick Arashi. You can rent chairs/umbrella's there and there is a restaurant there as well. The beach is beautiful and sandy. Snorkeling out to the left, you can go toward Boca and the snorkeling is excellent!! We go to Boca many times when we stay on the island (as previous poster said, no amenities there) because it's such good snorkeling. We've went to Arashi by cruise ship and snorkeled down toward Boca and then walked back on the road (short walk) to Arashi. HERE is just a little review of Boca with tons of pictures to show you what the snorkeling is like. (It's like this from Arashi all the way there). You will see the boat snorkeling tours bring people here as well because the snorkeling is so good.
  15. We really enjoyed Buccanos (several times) when we were in Cozumel on a land vacation. They have a really nice large pool, a beach area with plenty of natural shade and snorkeling, which is like a drift snorkeling if you walk down a little ways and come back toward Buccanos. There's also a pier that you can jump off of and it's a lot of fun. HERE and HERE are my reviews the times we went.
  16. We went back in 2013 and it was very kid friendly for those particular ages. Not much has changed. They have a HUGE pool toward the back with a kids splash pad as well. Then they have the water slides. There's a play ground and the water toys. We found it to be a nice place for families. Definitely a good choice.
  17. We did this as well in Cozumel and had a great time (now we search for excursions like this when we go to ports or land vacations). But, we did the buggy's instead of atv. We used Wild tours. We did do this when we were actually staying on the island, so weren't under any time restrictions, however these companies know when the ships are in port and usually have times to correspond with that. It was definitely something "different" to do other than your regular beach days and we got to see the beautiful caverns (we went to Jade, the "wet" cavern and another that was a dry cavern, and learned about the history...which was pretty interesting. Our pick up was at Playa Mia. If interested, I have a complete review located HERE and there's plenty of pictures to see what it was like.
  18. You're very welcome. I have difficulty with one of my legs with 3 previous surgeries so I completely understand and I have to take things easy when entering and exiting myself.
  19. @T BYRD can you check in the gift shop and see if they have the Joy ship ornaments back out again? When we went they said they didn't have any but might have some in the future.
  20. IMO there's not much snorkeling from shore in CM. It used to be pretty good at Blue Kay, but when we went, it was mostly gone and I was disappointed after going there many times. There's a reef off the shore, which is great for diving, but doubtful for snorkeling. Maybe someone else has a better option I don't know about. We did go to Almaplena years ago and there's a reef off of that beach you have to swim out to. I've never done it but my husband did once. Thanks for the comments on my daughters photography. She loves photography like her momma. 🙂 Our camera's we used are the Olympus Tough camera's and GoPro for the movies. We've had them for years now and absolutely love them (we keep upgrading over the years as new ones come out). Well worth the money we've spent over the years for the great pictures.
  21. Native Way Watersports did an amazing job when we went with them last time.
  22. We liked the Sheridan Old San Juan as well, but they did upgrade us to a room with a bedroom and facing the cruise port which made it nice. Last couple times I went there, the prices had went up so much that we didn't stay again. They do have an open air with walls around it rooftop pool which is cool at night and a great view of the city. We also like the Decanter hotel. Very nice rooms with a bedroom and kitchen area in a good location and within walking distance to many places. They had doors that opened up the living room to outside and was nice. There's a rooftop terrace to hang out at.
  23. This is the Cozumel forum so I assumed in Cozumel. Where does it say mainland and how do you know by what they posted?
