So I am compelled to say that if you get the proper travel insurance*, you at least will be compensated for missing ports. Every time we've missed a port, we've been paid $100 each, per port.

*That is, NOT the cruise line's.

That being said, the recent, heinous pattern of cutting port times, being announced well in advance, is not up for compensation. (And of course, O posted the announced changes the day AFTER final payment was due...)

You are saying ur insurance carrier will pay you for missed ports even if you are not out of pocket any money or physical mishaps?

  2. How's this. Nautica March 2011 Beijing to Hong Kong with 4 port stops in Japan. Earthquake and tsunami we where on board March 11. All Japan ports cancelled. Never been to Japan booked this cruise for that reason but that's life.Had a great time.Food and amenities fantastic on the ship. Did 4 other ports in the region.

@ORV You are killing me.  Excellent food and Eggs Benedict for breakfast.  I am having dry toast with a black coffee trying to lose enough weight to go on my cruise, LOL.  Embrace being treated like a rock star.

Cruise well and enjoy every moment.

My wife has her LEO prepared to order at Waves. And other omelets

Chile changed the rules for entry two days before our boarding in Buenos Aires. Everyone entering the country must be vaccinated and boosted or have a negative test within 48 hours.

Oceania required everyone to either show their vaccination cards upon boarding or be tested at the dock since most were unaware of the new requirements before departure from the States. Some had foolishly left the cards at home believing they weren’t needed.

The cost for the test , at the dock, at the dock was $100 each. They were again required to be tested before entry into Chile while aboard ship within 48 hours of Chilean entry. Cost aboard ship, $250.

Where you on the Antarctic cruise that started in Chile?

We had dinner last night in Toscano, I had lasagna app and Osso bocco for a main. Enjoyed the company of a nice table of 6. The food was just as superb as it’s been in the past. Great service all around. No issues here. It was also the captain’s party and drinks were flowing pre dinner. Breakfast this morning was pecan pancake and fruit. Once again excellent food and service. I’ll let you know if there’s any bobbles.

On the new updates of the state room, the wood trim wainscoting is a wonderful touch visually for us. Much better than plain walls. I probably won’t post any more pictures until we get back to a port with cell phone service. We have two sea days then Great stirrup cay. After that I think Jacksonville. Some people are upset about the itinerary change, and possibly justifiably so, but I’m not in charge, the Captain and Miami are. I personally am just happy to be on a cruise, but I have been to Bermuda multiple times. I can understand those that booked this for Bermuda being unhappy.

    More later, trivia calls.

We where on the 20 day February cruise. Ate in Toscana 3 evenings always the Lobster Fra Diovolo been consistent for the last 13 years

Bathrobes are provided in all stateroom classes. And passengers are notified quite politely that these robes will be collected the evening prior to disembarkation 😉

That's right but when I saw it gone I asked for another one and it was there when we got back from dinner.

They come with the room and I might want it some evening on the veranda depending upon the weather. Or if my neighbors go out on theirs and I have to put it on to put some clothes on. I'm mainly on the veranda from about 2100-2200 before going to bed or 2230-2330 if I saw the comic. When it is dark. And I shut the curtains or have the room lights off, so I'm just enjoying the waves and the stars in peace sipping

I hang mine on the hooks put outside the bathroom on the Riveara .After the first 10 days I  gave it to the room stewards and got a clean one for the next 10 days

Bathrobes are in your cabin. We had them in both our A4 Concierge Veranda (Riviera, 12/2021) and our B2 Veranda (Sirena, 11/2022). They take up a lot of space and we don't use them. So, we squirrel them away somewhere we aren't using for storage. (You can't keep them.)

Why dont you give them to your room steward instead of shoving them away?

But it may well have impacted those people routinely posting here that sign up for the infamous 10:00 flight out of MIA to wherever. I bet I’ve seen 50 posts from people, over the past 5 years, wanting to know if the should ( or should have) booked that flight. You might be surprised at the number of responses telling them it’s fine, NO problem.

THERE was a poster on the first  half of our cruise who posted got off at 7:30 and made his 10 am flight to Arizona

They do have  a lunch for B2B pax  by invitation

Lunchtime was a Prvt. Function in Jaques looked to me like TA FDR  Function

I agree that dressing up a bit makes the experience more special.  What can be challenging is trying to balance packing for a 20 day cruise with not bringing too much luggage since we are flying with not under- or over-packing and either having to do laundry quite often or finding that we brought a lot of unnecessary items to lug around airports.  I am looking forward to wearing a couple of my nicer dresses that I don't wear often, and my husband will dig his old dress shirts from work out of the closet for the specialty restaurants.

My wife had the same problem for this 20 day cruise and 10 days in Florida before boarding.   Her advice repeat repeat repeat
