I remember back when I was a first time cruiser, everything beat my expectations.
And I even remember back on my first cruise (1980-Sitmar), there was no internetâŠhahaha
You couldnât come to a message board and ask a million questions. It was all a surprise and you learned as you went. And somehow, us oldie but goodies survived.

Another new show last night. Once again the talented 5 singers, plus the orchestra featuring the "High Seas" horns. Lots of energy. This time we both came prepared and brought our ear plugs...and with Bucky using his, even simply taking his hearing aids out...was still too loud. Both walked in with a glass of wine, found good seats...and enjoyed the evening. đ Show called "In Concert". Â
Â
Once again no pictures...won't do that to our neighbors. đ Though many did not care and constantly had their bright cell screens held up to film the show. Ughhh...
I dim mine way down and just take quick pics. Itâs mostly to remember what happened each day. LOL I donât need a video of the whole show.

Hi all ! Â
Â
I am so excited for my 3rd cruise, but my 1st with RC ! đÂ
I'm from the west coast in WA state. Â
Who else is going? Â
You didnât say what ship.
Â
There is a Roll Call section on Cruise Critic. You might glance through and see if one is already there for your ship.

I text my daughters and grandkids all the time when Iâm on cruise and they are home. All IPhones or IPads. I always have a ship Wi-Fi package, but I have never manually turned on Wi-Fi calling. Maybe itâs automatic and I never noticed. I will check next time.

What shows are on wonder if the seas? Is there a Broadway show? Are shows available to reserve ahead of time like on other oasis class ships? Thank you in advance for any help.
Normally reservations come out the beginning of the month, prior to your sailing month. So start looking at that time, maybe a couple of days before the first.

Of course back then we didnât know anything about the issues of 737 Max 9 doors could fly off any given minute.Â
My daughter and grandson have a scheduled flight to MCO on the 31st on a Max 9. Heâs playing in the Flag Football Championship and was invited to ProBowl. I know they substituted another plane on certain days, but others they have cancelled flights. So fingers crossed heâs on the different plane. UGH!

@Jimbo If you are using that as the example, it wasn't Radiance. It is the Jewel.
I said it firstâŠ.đ€Łđ€Ł

BTW: as Patti at @Coralc can tell you, the people here in California don't call the state "Cali". That is what outsiders call us. When I was at Hollywood Beach renting the bike, I had to give them my ID and the guy saw it and say "Oh, CALI". You know he's not from here...
I spent the first 34 years of my life in California, and itâs funny how a lot of us are very picky about how or what you say about the places we live. And donât ever say Frisco if talking about San FranciscoâŠLOLÂ
Now, living in the Seattle area, itâs Pike Place Market or The MarketâŠ.I have seen and heard all sorts of variations.Â
Thanks for the fun thread!

When did Radiance visit Greenland? Not in the past ten years I guess?
It was Jewel. I was on that cruise in Sept. đ

Disconnect won't work. You have to logoff. If you try to logon to a different device without logging off, you will get a message saying you have exceeded the number of devices, and it will not let you logon.
When I go between IPhone and IPad, it just asks me if I want to switch and I say yes. Have never had to manually âlogoffâ. Maybe because Iâm the only one using it.

I tried this I got to the "Don't see your cruise" and "Add it now." It wants to look up my cruise by name, date and reservation number. There isn't a browse our ships. And if I go to another screen and browse ships, I just get itineraries I can book.Â

I was wondering how you find out if your ship has a theme night for your sailing? We've been on cruises before and everyone was wearing Caribbean shirts on a particular night, and we were clueless. Thanks in advance.Â
Others have failed to mention that you can look at the current cruise and see daily activities. Itâs a bit harder to find now, but if you click on head icon in upper right, under your cruise, it says âselect a different cruiseâ. Scroll to bottom and where it says Donât see your cruise, click on letâs add it now. Then scroll down to âbrowse our shipsââŠ.from there, it will bring up the ships. Pick yours and then pick the current date.
I have noticed the Dress for the Day is usually around the 4-5pm mark.
Hope this helps.

Not sure when Serenade is scheduled for Ecuador and hoping this doesn't affect your visit there.Â

Hi all. I didn't realize how many negative reviews are on the cruise line's website for the Adventure of the Seas. It's making me nervous about our upcoming cruise. Should I be worried?
A few people will write negative reviews, hundreds will never write positive ones. I never let negative reviews make a decision for me. Go and have a great time.

I donât know why I thought you were on the Ovation with me last year from Sydney. Maybe it was just the Alaska leg. I know that because I am in one of your pictures from the Screech event. đ
Great pictures!

Question on this .. my two sisters and I are cruising together, reservations are not linked. We each choose MTD at 6:45. Should we stop in at the MDR on the first day to request a table together, or do this at our dinner that evening? When I cruise with my husband, we always do traditional early dinner, so this is my first experience with MTD.Â
You donât need to be linked for MTD. Just go together. They will just take each of your cabin numbers.

Thanks for adding this... I've never sailed out of CL. Â First time will be this coming September.
Will the ship be coming back from a TA? If so, it could be later. When I boarded the first time at Cape Liberty on the Jewel Greenland in Sept., earliest arrival was 12:30, because of Coast Guard inspection. If your ship isnât, nevermindâŠLOL
-
Since they backfill early traditional, some people have even walked up at 6-6:15 and been seated. You also donât need reservations. My daughter and granddaughter had no issue being seated early with no reservations. I think thatâs easier for 2, rather than a large party.

It was interesting that my cruises on the Ovation in 2021 and 2022 (Alaska), the kettles were kept in the cabin. This past Spring, they started removing them when we got to Hawaii. My stewardess left mine, since I was on for 2 more legs. I liked being able to make a quick cup of Instant coffee on the mornings I was awake at 4-5.

Are they allowing you to bring wine back onto the ship from ports and not holding it? I saw a clip on YouTube, made today, and she brought back a bottle of wine. It was also very cheap.

Yeah I said before I didn't realize it was just based on simultaneous connections. I thought it was total. I'll be returning the one 4-device package.Best deal is 1 person, 4 devices. Everyone shares a login, but 4 devices can be logged on at the same time.

NevermindâŠ.I donât why I read Apr, I saw of AugâŠ.jeez, my eyes.
August dates not released yet. Watch the Deployment thread.
If you were planning to do a longer Caribbean cruise, which ship would you pick?

There is no Navigator class. Maybe Voyager? The Navigator is part of that class.
