Thank you for that. -
Carnival moving away from China
CruiseAdict218 replied to jimbo5544's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
That’s what I wanna know, some users on here have said Carnival offloaded their share, which is how they took and resold Atlantica. I would think the article above would have mentioned something but outside of that, I also can’t find much if they are still involved or not. -
Venezia's replacement out of NY?
CruiseAdict218 replied to edrussell's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I agree with your opinion, there would really only be one ship based from NY and that's just fine. But you are also right, Venezia's cover pool is ideal for winters and of course bad weather and fits the hole. Still a good addition to the fleet, regardless of unpopular opinions. I would sail on Venezia again, but after sailing her 3 times back to back, I just want to try other ships, next year will be the first year in a while I don't have a Carnival cruise booked, excited to return to Princess and try NCL and Celebrity. -

Horizon did a full season from NY after only doing a month’s worth of European sailings during its inaugural year. -
Venezia's replacement out of NY?
CruiseAdict218 replied to edrussell's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Outside of Mardi Gras/Jubilee, I don’t believe any other new builds were late? Think last new build we got was Horizon and then prior Vista (though brief), Venezia was on time but on a refit schedule, same with Sunshine & Sunrise. -
Venezia's replacement out of NY?

Vista I wouldn’t say is locked into Florida like Mardi Gras, Celebration and Jubilee are for their current home ports. Magic probably goes back to Norfolk upon Sunshine’s retirement. I also believe it’s been pointed out Celebration only has a schedule released until February 2027. New XL takes over, Celebration changes homeports or moves to short sailings. Would be nice even if one of them came for a few sailings from NY, doesn’t even have to be a full season. One could wish. -
Well we would have gotten Mardi Gras, though a very very short season so that size ship is capable of sailing from NY. But I’d settle for Vista or if they ever swing her over this side Panorama.
-
Most of the ships have scheduled posted through 2026, so should be over the next few weeks. I would expect it to be Venezia again, unless they send us back Magic, all other ships of similar size have their schedules posted besides the West Coast ones. Hopefully when the next new build comes out in 2027 they shuffle ships around.

Venezia's replacement out of NY?

I’m thinking Venezia will probably be the ship for NY in summer 2026, as it seems most ships aren’t shifting homeports. -
Carnival Venezia shocked by reviews
CruiseAdict218 replied to jpolm's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I think she’s a great ship, I’ve said on her 3 times and reviewed her 2/3 times which are linked in my signature. Like all ships, she has her positives and negatives but never had a bad time at all so I would recommend the ship at least once. -

2026/27 itineraries are dropping.
CruiseAdict218 replied to 787cruiser's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
I sailed on the Pride last year and loved it, she was also updated shortly after that as well. I felt there was still plenty to do, but I don’t mind old or newer ships. Have done Bermuda many times on various ships and it’s one of my favorite destinations with so much to do, especially if you’re there for three days or at least an overnight. -

Definitely on the bucket list to do a longer itinerary. -

Used be a 8 day with a stop in St. Maartin, St. Kitts and one other stop, though I don’t think they do it anymore, wish they would bring that back. -
2026 Dates - when we will see them??? :)
CruiseAdict218 replied to MistyRo76's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Some 2026 has opened, Spirit and Miracle to Alaska from Seattle (and a Hawaii sailing on Spirit), Legend in Europe (with a 11 day Solar Eclipse cruise) and more Splendor was opened in Australia. -
The piping was cut down more or less, if you compare photos. But Golden/Star were never going to have their handles removed, theirs were made lighter than Grand’s with different materials used. Crown is the one currently based year round in the region and is even doing her first world cruise, so I do wonder if that extra deck makes a big difference. Not sure if they’d based one of the Gems their, they like to use Diamond for Japan and Sapphire seems to get bounced around.
-
I would think make them full time Carnival ships, China is struggling to fill ships in that area. Not sure how the rest of the Asia market is, one could replace Serena which serves that area. I would think they would be returned if they get more new builds, that’s a good chunk of capacity to transfer back, plus undoing the Carnival additions. Costa ships compliment Carnival better (excluding the two Vistas), keep some and maybe sell off some but their fleet is pretty young for the most part.
-
We might not see anything till 2028-2029 with those three having what could be their last dry docks in 2026 (but that doesn’t mean anything). Though I also wonder if they will send a bigger ship to Alaska and free up the Spirits and Luminosa for these pending retirements. I would think a port like Mobile gets cut again, Carnival sighed a five year contract from what I could find which puts them around 2028 or they pick up an older Conquest Class and Spirit moves to Jacksonville or Tampa year round.
-
They order could also change if they feel the initial say first two were too small, kind of what NCL did with the Prima Class. Think these would be a good stepping stone for those who don’t want a big ship but still gives something modern to their aging ships. I also don’t expect Costa to be absorbed or lose any other vessels other than many Fortuna in the future. They seemed to have bounced back nicely but I wouldn’t expect Carnival to return the two Vistas either. Think we would have heard about it by now, any the overall Corp is shedding the one P&O brand.
