  1. There are many reasons it might not go higher. The debt being a big one, but clearly many macro and company specific variables impact how the market prices a stock. But if/when the economy slows and we go into the next recession, these high cruise prices will be minimized and their margins could tank (they can’t exactly lower their debt costs in an inflationary period as interest rates are going up). Then watch what happens to the stock price. Of course it could go higher too off and on. But the fundamentals don’t look great to me and ultimately the fundamentals will dictate the long run stock price. I could easily see Royal trading at half its current value in the somewhat near term.
  2. What are your thoughts on the ship? We will be on her later in the year with kids. They are used to Oasis class, but they know this will be different. The wife and I have been on grandeur so we know what the feel will be like in general We will be bringing plenty of games and activities for the kids. Any thoughts or suggestions? They will be 8, 6, and 3. Is park cafe good? Particularly ok for the kids given it is in the middle of the solarium? How is the food overall? We consider the Ultimate dining plan but with only chops it would likely be too repetitive. If food is ok in WJ and MDR no need. Are the regular pools keeping your kids happy. Any good suggestions for a place for them to run around and not bother others? Thanks for the reviews. Looks like a great trip.
  3. The clientele has been similar for a long time. Seen wacky stuff on both lines. Take a short cruise on Royal and it is no different than a short cruise on Carnival. It always struck me as funny that so many folks think Royal was or is so much different. It isn’t in my experience. Plenty of crazies to go around on both cruise lines.
  4. Oh I don’t know exactly how they do it. That’s the point. You don’t either. The difference is I’m not claiming I do. And your attempt at asking me to disprove your bogus statement (which you openly admitted you had no data on other than personal experience) is laughable. I’m guessing you never took logic in school? I’m not angry or losing sleep or any other thing you want to use to deflect from your bogus prior statement. I’m just calling out someone who seems quite angry for making up stuff and getting called out for it. Just admit you have no idea and move on or dig deeper like George Constanza would. Either way, I don’t care. But for the sake of others, perhaps don’t make stuff up as many people on here come for concrete advice? If you are suggesting what you guess might be the case, call it a guess and don’t state it like a fact.
  5. Typically you will pay full price onboard. Could be cheaper, but you simply won’t know until onboard. It may well be cheaper to prepay vs buying onboard given the price assuming you want to use it all 5 days.
  6. Or more likely a computer randomly assigns things. Do we really think Royal IT has the capability to prioritize based on status? I seriously doubt it. Their use of a third party to handle Royal UP suggests they don’t have much interest in algorithms such as this.
  7. So you make up stuff up and then call others dense when they call out your lies. Give me a break already. FYI. You haven’t explained anything. You made a bogus statement that they assign cabins based on status without any evidence that they actually do it this way. And btw, correcting the record so that others aren’t mislead by made up information isn’t obnoxious. What is obnoxious is folks who just make stuff up and pretend like they know something they don’t know. Folks doing this make these forums confusing or even useless. Best to just say nothing than to make stuff up. And if you are corrected or called out for making stuff up, just admit you made it up without any real knowledge of anything. Don’t deflect with personal insults about one’s intelligence.
  8. Idk. I guess that makes them really rude people then. Either way, I’d prefer more signage. It is extremely minimal even in English. It’s their rules they pay employees to walk around and enforce. Might as well have a few signs that would help explain the rules. I have met many folks who legitimately didn’t know a swim diaper child wasn’t allowed in the main splash zone. This makes sense because on land it would be allowed at most places. The signs are tiny and in one or two places for a huge area n some ships. Easy to never even see them.
  9. I’ve been cruising longer than 35 years and I can tell you from my experience, it’s a total crap shoot. Don’t worry I sleep just fine. But you are essentially making stuff up, so no need to act surprised if someone asks how you would know something. Did you expect to post bogus info and no one say anything? How would you know they give better cabins to those with status? The answer is clear now that you don’t. Instead you made a definitive statement about how they do it based only on your experience and not the millions of other cruisers. Well, I can guarantee you there are many with a very different experience than you. It is a benefit for those reading this thread for this false information to be corrected. Don’t act like anyone is overreacting if they correct your false statement. You don’t know how they assign cabins, so why pretend like you do and confuse others in the process.
  10. It is a total crap shoot. No prior experience for you or us will predict your situation. Assume the worst and hope for the best. I have booked guarantees before. Some worked out fine, and others, not so great. Highly unlikely to do it now.
  11. Yeah. Definitely should train staff on this. I’ve experienced these speakers at restaurants, the promenade, and even in the bars clubs. It’s ridiculous.
  12. On our last cruise this year (symphony) there were many babies and toddlers in swim diapers in the hot tub. Always folks who don’t speak English as a first language. After a couple days I said something to the attendant and life guard monitoring the kids pool. They told me there was nothing they could do about it. They could remove those in swim diapers from the splash zone however. Lol. What a joke. Royal really needs better signage and in multiple languages. I saw a less than one year old in the hot tub for a solid hour straight and in there for much of the day with the parents. It was very warm, but not very hot. Still very unhealthy. I wouldn’t let my kids use that hot tub due to this.
  13. I’ve experienced 50+ folks doing this too. No matter the age, it is annoying.
  14. Tnx. Reading this thread had me looking up one of my bookings coming up. Just wanted to make sure.
  15. But watch the times. They can close pretty early for lunch on a couple of the days.
  16. Never gave a room service order to a SL concierge. I’ll keep that one in mind. Thanks.
  17. FYI, if you want you can always ask (in the CK) for a to go dessert for later and just take it to the fridge in your cabin and enjoy it later.
  18. But the menu you order from? I don’t recall it being the CK? I’m struggling to remember because we rarely eat a full meal in our cabin except when we go Star class. However, I believe in sky class it is the MDR menu for dinner, not the CK menu. Any idea?
  19. Im not sure that is accurate. My recollection is MDR for dinner and normal room service otherwise. We did mdr dinner room service one night on our last cruise (because my son wasn’t feeling well) and it was actually quite good (although I think we randomly a good menu night). But we had a two bedroom grand suite with a huge balcony and a dining table. I’m pretty certain it didn’t come from the CK. FYI. Imo the CLS are not a good set up for eating in your room for dinner. The balcony doesn’t have a dining table. It’s fine if you want a meal for convenience, but even the table inside is more like a desk. Not exactly a great ambiance. I’d always eat in a restaurant before in cabin unless there was a compelling reason.
  20. Wouldn’t even matter. You should not ask to switch. All of your account info is on the TV of your cabin. Highly unlikely you’d catch them before they unpacked. Etc. Etc. Are you going to ask them to wait a long line to ask even the names can be switched? It just isn’t practical and it’s not like a flight. I’d gladly switch a seat on a flight to help someone out, but on a cruise it would be a quick no and I’d make it very clear it was a firm no.
  21. Caveat. I don’t think my kids got a free bag on our last cruise. I could be mistaken, but I think it is only for adult D+. Obviously kid’s benefits are a bit different in some areas of the perks.
  22. That is what I thought. Seems a couple of these posts were a bit misleading. You don’t get free drinks in the SL or CK if pinnacle. You can simply use your 6 free there (or anywhere else for the most part). If you’ve already used your six for the day, for example, you will be paying for drinks in the SL unless the waitress decides to not charge you like they are supposed to do. In comparison, if in a suite, you can have as many beers as you want in the SL.
