But with Anthem being a cold weather ship, there would be no reason to move her to FL for the Winter. I can see her ported in SH all year.:)
Good point. :)
Hopefully there are enough people who'd book winter cruises from Southampton.
Sadly RCI stopped the winter cruises on Independence in 2011 or 2012...
But let's hope...:) would be great to see her in Europe!
-
So, maybe: summer from Southampton, and winter Port Canaveral? Could well be... :)
Anthem will replace Independence? So we have Adventure and Anthem from Southampton... hopefully one of the two ships will also sail to the Northern regions in July and August!!
What could happen to Independence? Year-round in FL, or new itineraries in Eruope?
-
I think the chances for Southampton are high - high demand by the UK market, a new ship would make many people to book a cruise, I think... ;)
And one ship could switch to another destination and offer new itineraries... ;)
-
Independence is very popular out of the UK, so I expect she will stay for the summer as is the case now, and will move to Florida for the winter.
I feel Adventure has been brought over temporarily, since Independence sails full during the summer, and one ship is simply not enough. I'm sure they would prefer to have two Freedom class ships here, but that isn't possible.
Once Anthem is built, Adventure will go elsewhere.
OK, maybe Anthem and Indy sail out of Southampton - Anthem is a cold weather ship, so could it be possible to see her sailing in the Norwegian Fjords?
Maybe Anthem is too large for the Baltic because she has to pass one bridge - maybe Indy could sail the Baltic itineraries?
So it could be to see Adventure moving to Harwich - or maybe Alaska?
Could it be realistic to have a Voyager class ship in Alaska?
Because also the large Celebrity Solstice is operating there...
So maybe in 2015:
Adventure - Alaska from Seattle
Radiance - Alaska between Vancouver and Seward
Rhapsody - Alaska from Vancouver or year-round Australia/Nz from Sydney...
-
But year-round from Houston I do not believe... maybe she sails there during the winter period - or Serenade, which sails temporary from New Orleans, will be sent to Houston and Anthem sails from New Orleans, or Navigator will sail from Houston instead of Galveston - or, or, or...:D
-
i have to agree, if Anthem does replace Indy where do you think Indy will be deployed too?

I also think so because UK is a growing and important market for RCI... :)
maybe Independence satys at Southampton and Adventure leaves or Independence could stay year-round in the Caribbean - or maybe she moves to another Mediterranean port...
Asia? OK, it's a growing market, but RCI has to large ships there - I think Mariner and Voyager are enough - such a new ship to Asia? I do not think so, IMHO! :)
-
if Anthem stays in Southampton, do you thonk Independence will stay in Miami?

MAYBE :) maybe also Indy and Athem sail from Southampton and Adventure moves to Harwich and Brilliance to Copenhagen or Hamburg...
Or Indy stays at Fort Lauderdale year-round...
We will see what happens - but I could imagine that Anthem comes to Sothampton. :)
-
I also find it VERY hard to believe that one of these ships wont wind up in Florida.
Speculation is great isnt it? :D
Maybe Anthem stays in Southampton year-round, but it's also possible that she sails from Fort Lauderdale to replace Independence - I'd like to see her sailing out of Miami - would be great to see RCI sail out of Miami with a newer ship...:)
Or maybe Independence sails year-round out of Florida in 2015, when Anthem sails from Southampton...
-
I knew Alaska was just too good to be true. :(
I think such a large ship wouldn't sail any Alaska itinerary...;)
Solstice had to TENDER in Alaska???
I think she will be based at Southampton during the summer period and maybe she sails from Fort Lauderdale in winter...:)
I assume the following:
Oasis and Allure - FL
Anthem - Southampton
Quantum - Cape Liberty
Independence - Southampton or FL year-round
Liberty - Barcelona
Freedom - PC
Adventure - San Juan year-round or Southampton (mainly Baltic and Norway/Iceland) - or maybe Harwich...
-
Hi dnylla,
thank you so much for the information!! :)
The 9th of July we will be on the same cruise - can't wait!!
Sadly the time in Stockholm is soo short - but I look forward to the archipelago!!
-
Use the SXM port Schedule as an example (out of a handful)
Thanks for the link - also Quantum seems to offer some Caribbean cruises in summer!
But in Aug., Sep. and Oct. 2015 she seems to sail to Canada/NE - she comes not as frequented as in June 2015, for example...:)
Sadly Jewel will not leave the Caribbean during the summer season 2015, according to the list... so the doresn't return to Europe, and RCI still seems to deploy only 2 ships in Alaska!!
-
Hi,
sounds great!!
So let's hope that the 2015 late August itineraries will be released soon!! :)
Maybe still in 2013!
-
... expected to know the Summer 2015 itineraries for Quantum by September...
You mean September 2013?? :)
So that means in Sep. 2013 I could book the Quantum for summer/fall 2015??
Maybe RCI also announces Anthem's itineraries a littlbit earlier!! :)
-
Yes, I think the Quantum summer itineraries should be released by March/Aoril 2014...
According to the port schedule of Bar Harbour, Quantum is expected to call there in August, Seprember and October... :)

She is also listed for Portland - just scroll down to the Article of May 7, 2013!

Tahnks for the info!! :)
now I have found the timetable for bus 76!
-
Thank you soo much for the maps!!:)
I know that i have to take station "Ropsten" near Frihamnen, but wht's the best bus station in center of Stcokholm? ;)
Thank you!!
-
Hi everyone,
what's the best bus station to get to the center of Stockholm?
We are also docking at Frihamnen...
-
Good that they are currently pumping out - but is the ship likely to break and to sink???
-
What a luck that the pumping out process is in progress now!!! ;)
Let's hope they achieve to recover the ship successfully and than they achieve to repair it!
-
Bad weather!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:
But look on different weather forecasts for Giglio, there you see that weather will increase!
I hope they can begin soon to pump out the fuel!
-
Did they already began to pump out the fuel today?
-
Interesting news about the salvage methods after pumping out the fuel - but let's hope that they recover it entirely and can repair it (Fincantieri could imagine to repair the ship), I don't hope they have to blow up the ship or to cut it!
-
I think it cannot be that a woman disturbs the captain on the bridge and causes this tragedy! Sur, the captain has to be blamed for this catastrophy, but the woman isn't free of guilt! She disturbed the captain, so he wasn't concentrated on his work - and I assume, they drank alcoholic drinks!
Are there any news about pumping out and salvaging?
-
I am back - I hope the pumping out process starts soon! What a pit with the bad weather conditions!:mad::mad::mad:
But I heard that there are 10 companies who want to salvage the ship and end of March, Costa will give the task to salvage the ship to one of them...

-Independence: new itineraries (year-round caribbean) or Southampton
-Liberty: Barcelona - Western Med (winter caribbean)
-Freedom: Port Canaveral - Caribbean
-Adventure: Southampton - Med an Northern Europe (winter Caribbean) or NE from Harwich
-Brilliance: NE from Harwich or Copenhagen and Hamburg? (winter caribbean)
