Total numbers of Pinnacle Club?  Does anyone really know?  My opinion — because of the age of Pinnacles and the time it takes to get there - Pinnacle level may start to level out or increase more slowly.  As folks age and have health issues they may cruise less or not at all.  I recently turned Pinnacle.  However, on that voyage I learned of 3 Pinnacle members who had passed.  None of us will be cruising forever!  But while we are my hope is that the benefits will not decrease.  Katherine

I don't even think Royal knows the number of any of the tiers.  I'm sure that there are Pinnacles, since it began, that passed away, same with all the other tiers.  I remember seeing a number that Royal posted that belonged to the Crown & Anchor and it was very very high, but I don't remember what it was.  There is no way the number they say is still active.  Some just go on one cruise and never cruise again or can no longer cruise.

Congratulations Katherine.  Hope to see you soon on Anthem.

I have wondered if it’s in a cruise lines best interest to reduce elite benefits. I mean if you have one room left to sell, wouldn’t you rather fill it with a newbe who is more likely to spend on “the new” be it casinos, excursions, dining rather than the jaded elite who has done  it in the past and brags of not spending on board. It might be in the lines best interest to in effect “fire” this elite as a customer. Thoughts?

I'll be turning Pinnacle in January, and I book balcony cabins, book excursions through the ship, shop in the stores, speciality restaurants and spend thousands in the casino and I don't see me spending any less.

  4. The big problem with Diamond Lounges getting overcrowded, is too many people that have not earned their own points from cruising.  Those over 18 that may have only been on one or two cruises earned their parent's points and keep their instant diamond status.  They marry and have kids and they get the same status, and it goes on and on, even if they remarry, it still goes on.  That's a lot of people, that could have earned the status, from one person, sailing on one cruise.  Those over 18 should go back to the points they actually earned, once they reach their 18th birthday.  If they did this, they should raise the age to 21 or 22.  The average age of a child out of school.

Are the new cruise certificates out yet - I believe they are due out this month? Then next ones in January? can anyone comment?

    Thanks!

If I remember the last group came out around the 10th of July, so hopefully they will be out within the next week or so.  I have a friend on a cruise now and she is going to try to find out.

Seeing the range of offers based on level is hardly meaningless.  While it may be inapplicable, it is a good way to compare what is being offered at any given time by the program.

You can't even compare offers by level.  I'm SIgnature and get offers from $250 off to a JS. People that are Prime sometimes get better deals than me on the same offer.  There is no rhyme or reason how they decide who gets what.

They do.  Once they turn 18 they can not inherit their patents level.  We were Platinum when our daughter turned 18, and she had the same points as her parents.  This past June, she made Diamond on her own point count.  Yes, her husband and two small boys are now Diamond with less points.  We made Diamond in 2005 and it took 14 more years for our daughter to make it on her own.  It would appear that you want 18 changed to a lower age.

I never mentioned an age in my post.  All I was saying is that a child should be able to have their parents level, but after they reach a certain age, I would think 21 or 22 when they are out of school, they should go back to the level that they actually earned. I don't think it's right that an adult is getting the same D+ discounts and perks as me , when they could have only had to sail on one cruise.  I realize there are lots of kids that have earned their level by sailing the number of nights required and they earned the right to keep their level.

  8. A lot of people will disagree with me, but this is a big part of why the diamond lounges are so crowded.  A child could go on one cruise and get their parents D or D+ status - marries and the spouse gets the same status and then their children, and it goes on and on, even if they only had a couple of points they earned themselves.  I really think that once the children reach a certain age, they should have to earn their own tiers.

The trade-in values for (e-)mailed offers are getting bizarre.

It had been that balcony offers would have a trade-in value of $1,000, and junior suite offers would have a value of $1,250.

These are the last few on my list (from ClubRoyaleOffers.com😞

I don't know what specific cruises are included in this last one, but at a trade-in value of $1,500, it might very well have significant value on, say, a 3- or 4-night cruise.

I really wonder how they figure out the offers.  I have the same Holiday Offers with $1250 trade in, but my Labor Day offer is only for $300 off and no trade in. My September offer has a $500 trade in. My $1250 trade in paid for a December 7 night cruise solo on Anthem in a balcony cabin.  I only paid for taxes/port fees.

  10. It wasn't just the croissants, the waffles, pancakes, french toast were either raw or hard as a rock.  The only thing what was decent were the omelets.  I didn't go to the the MDR or get room service for breakfast, so I can't comment on that. The shows have been around for more than 10 years and really need updating.  Can't compare to the full production musicals on the newer ships. The ice show was excellent.

  11. I've sailed many many times on Anthem and just sailed on Adventure this past April.  The WJ was the worst I've ever been on.  The food was cold and the bread/rolls were stale/hard.  I love my croissants in the morning.  They were so hard that they actually crumbled.   Not as many choices as Anthem either.  The MDR on Adventure was very nice, and the food was about the same as Anthem.  The shows on Adventure should have been retired years ago, except for the ice show, which was very good.  The entertainment can't compare to Anthem.  Same goes for the music around the ship.  I didn't like the casino either.  There are stools instead of chairs with backs - very uncomfortable when playing for any length of time.  The crew are great on both ships.

Wait listed treasured corner aft 9256 some years ago for Radiance Alaska...thought..."yeah..no way".   But two weeks later?!  Score!  Miracles do happen.  😉

I have six cabins under wait list right now...trying to get late booked multiple legs booked in same cabins on four different cruises so I don't have to move.  Fingers crossed.

    That's what I'm trying to do for a B2B.

Aiming to get 2500 points for my upcoming RCL cruise, which will be my first with RCL.

My understanding is the I will be getting 1 free inside cert for reaching 2400 points, and 1 free inside annual cert for reaching Prime.

My question is for the First cert, which needs to be booked within 30 days. Can I book it first and then change it to another sailing after the 30 days?

Additionally, do you have any experience on upgrade from inside to balcony? usually, what i can expect to pay for the upgrade? Thanks,

Any changes need to be made within the 30 days.  I lost lots of certificates because I couldn't change them.  I have upgraded many times.  It could be as low as $20 up to a few hundred.  Depends on the cruise.  I also sail solo, so that may make a difference too.

  14. You can only book one of the cruises on the certificate or use the dollar off amount on any cruise within a year.  They are also very strict about booking within the 30 days.

You can only book one cruise per offer.

You can change a booked cruise, but it needs to be changed before the certificate expires within the 30 days.

I'm Signature and there are a lot of offers others have received that I didn't.  Not everyone gets the same offers.

  15. I was also on the 8/10 sailing, my 30th time on Anthem.  Sorry you didn't get to see WWRY, it's the best show on the ship.  Cat Wells in the pub was also excellent.  The dance band  was the worst I ever heard on the ship.  I can't wait for the Royal Swedes to be back in September.

I didn't arrive to the port until after 1 pm and was able to park in the garage.  I think sometimes if you get there too early, there are still people leaving from the cruise before, so all the spots aren't open yet.
