  1. Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily! I like frozen yogurt, but it still doesn't beat good old fashioned ice cream. Lame Duck Day - we need to acknowledge poor little ducks who can't walk properly! (I'm being facetious, folks!) I'm pretty good with chopsticks; DH, not so much. Although it's still dark outside, the temperature is already at 0C (32F), and we're supposed to reach a high temp of +1 (33.8F) - it just means we're going to have daylight and nothing more today, which is fine - at least there's no snow. Because it's going to be quite warm (it's all relative), I might start working on the snow covering the back patio. I'll give it a try and see how it goes; if it's too hard, I'll call the Crocus Co-op people to come over and do it for us. @bennybearI'm so sorry to hear of your Aunt's passing. @Seasick Sailorget on that phone, girl and make the appointment; you don't need/want to be in pain!!! Not a lot happening here today, I think I'll print off our passport renewal forms, get them filled out and make an appointment for photos with the motor club. Our passports don't expire until October, but considering how long it seems to be taking, I think getting the forms in early is the best thing. This Canadian spy balloon was spotted recently flying over New York City: I like today's menu suggestion, but I've already got chicken breasts thawing. I'll coat them in crumbs and parmesan and bake them in the air fryer. Chicken, mashed potatoes and veggies will be what's happening on our kitchen table tonight. And wine. Prayers for all who are in need, especially the people in Turkey and Syria who experienced the 7.8 earthquake in the middle of the night. Cheers to all with celebrations. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  2. That's all for me, too - thanks to the camera folks and all on this thread. Stay safe, till next time!
  3. I forgot to mention when we were waiting a couple of hours before departure at Port Everglades on turn-around day in mid-January, we saw 2 manatees just beside the ship; I didn't think they'd get that close to the ships!
  4. Eurodam will be departing at 4:30 as per conversation right now with Harbor Master.
  5. Likely because that's the most interesting thing at the docks right now.
  6. Good morning, thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily! This body is no longer built to shower with a friend, I wouldn't want to be a weather person these days, and I dumped a jerk in high school; once was enough. I think the frozen tundra will be melting today; right now we have a temp of -8C (17F), but our expected high will be 0 (32). I think I'll get out on the driveway and do some scraping of the ice that has accumulated on it. It isn't slick, as it's a recycled rubber driveway, it's just chunky and lumpy, so there's little chance of falling on it. @ottahand7what an awful thing to wake up to! Hopefully you'll be able to get back to your own cabin soon! @dobiemomBon Voyage; have fun with Lisa! There's not a lot happening here today, so I think it's time I put more effort into knitting the blankets for foster children - after unravelling the afghans, I now have a giant bag of yarn that needs to be used. I have several different ideas for patterns, both knit and crocheted, so it's good to get them started. Brussels sprouts aren't a favourite of ours, but if served, we will have a couple, so I don't think I'd ever make today's suggestion. The small beef roast I made in the slow cooker turned out to be a bit larger than I'd thought, so we'll be enjoying hot roast beef sandwiches with roasted vegetables at the dinner table tonight. And wine. Prayers for all who are in need, woo hoo for everyone with celebrations. Smooth Sailing! 🙂🙂🙂 Gerry
  7. @cat shepard, I am so sorry; what a blow to the family! My prayers will be sure to include all of them as well as you, as you all deal with your nephew’s passing.
  8. Good afternoon, time for a quick check-in. Okay, so our temperatures have definitely warmed up - enough for it to snow. And snow. And snow. I've shoveled 3 times today and it's getting a little old. When we were at the doctor the other day, DH was told he shouldn't be shoveling any more and the doctor actually said "Get your wife to do it." I told him I was already doing the lion's share, and would gladly do the rest. Talk about being sassy with patients! @Seasick SailorJoy, I'm sorry to hear you've fallen again - twice in one week is too much. I think you should get yourself checked out, just to be sure nothing is broken, and don't wait too long for the pain to become intolerable before doing something about it! @kazuwe often have frost quakes in our house during the winter months. The attic is directly above our bedroom, and occasionally it sounds like a gun is going off in the middle of the night. What's really frightening though, is hearing a frost quake on a lake when you're out there ice fishing. The first thing you do is look down to see that you've still got solid ice beneath you! @rafinmdI'm happy to know you had a better night - slow and steady, though, and you should do well. Regarding how much your 5 star pin must have cost - when we achieved our 4 star status, I said "Woo hoo, free laundry!" DH replied "Ger, do you have any idea how much that free laundry has cost?" Killjoy! LOL I hope everyone is having a good afternoon - take care and we'll see each other tomorrow!
