  1. The only thing I don't like about 3 day cruises is that it is only 3 days! I love 4 and 5 day cruises. It is just about the right amount of time. We always have a great time no matter where or how long the cruise is though.
  2. You also get other nice perks! The drinks are worth a lot though! We also get bathrobes but I always forget to ask for them. They used to just put them in our room but I noticed that I have to ask now.
  3. I do the auto tips and then more on top for those that go above and beyond. They all seem to work very hard to make my vacation special. I reward that. 🙂
  4. Thanks everyone! In 2016 when we did the Southbound trip We did the train.. We actually did 3 legs of it. Started in Fairbanks then to Denali and then to Anchorage and to Seward. It was a lot of train time for me, although the last leg from Anchorage to Seward was probably the most beautiful part. That sounds like a good plan. I will look into that. Thanks again!
  5. We are currently decided between Radiance and Enchantment. I have been on both ships in the past and enjoyed both. I am glad to see such a nice post about Enchantment as I am leaning to this Itinerary but was worried about the condition of her. Both ships need drydocking, I am sure, but you and others are correct that with Alaska the ship is not what it is all about! Thanks for helping me make up my mind!
  6. We are booking a Northbound Alaska cruise on Radiance for July 2023. Any suggestions for transportation to Anchorage for after the cruise? Thanks!
  7. I don't know if this helps or not but I did recently find out that my insurance (which is crappy by the way) actually covers up to 8 home tests. The ones you get that are proctored are included. Reach out to your insurance company. They don't tell you unless you ask. Go figure, right?
  8. I have used the package recently on the Independence and the Explorer of the Seas. Both were very easy to use everywhere. I got fresh squeezed OJ at the Dining room and the Windjammer for Breakfast. I stopped by random bars and got bottled water and mocktails. I really liked it. We are diamond so we get 4 free alcohol drinks a day and for me that is more than enough so this was perfect! Also, after a couple of days the bartenders knew me and immediately knew what I wanted.
  9. I saw that you got a few good deals on Black Friday! I didn't even know they did this. What was the deal for the refreshment package? We definitely will be checking on Black Friday from now on!
  10. Question for those in the know. If i pay the Refundable deposit fee does that mean that I get back the $500 deposit and the extra $400 (refundable deposit fee) back? Anyone know. I can't find it anywhere on the website, how this works. Thank you in advance for your helpful information.
  11. We have never had a problem with bringing wine aboard. They never checked the size or even took them out of our carry on. Just glance in and wave on. That being said, don't blame me if they take it from you, lol. I would try though. You can always go back and put it in your car.
  12. I wish that more people would write reviews when they are happy with services they receive. Most of the reviews we see seem to only tell everyone when something goes wrong.
  13. Thanks everyone! You are all correct. Our cruise is in just 2 weeks and I recently read a review that was super negative. We got an amazing deal and I just got nervous. It is a cruise and we have never let anything ruin our fun on cruises!
  14. We purchased the unlimited dining package because in the past we really enjoyed the specialty dining. I am getting nervous though that we might have just wasted our money because the food and the service is not great anymore. Reviews are pretty negative. I am wondering if we should call and get it refunded now. What do you think?
  15. I am so sorry you got sick. Being sick with anything on a cruise is no fun! But, being quarentined is my fear. I get seasick sometimes so I don't want to be stuck in the bowels of the ship, lol. You have been talking alot about the food and how you really like the burgers. So I assume you still have your taste and smell? When my husband and I got it around Christmas time, my hubby lost his taste about 2 days before he started with the other symptoms but he got it back pretty quick. Are you going home after this or on another cruise?
