  1. Yum Another lovely day on the cards due here. I think the wind has dropped a bit too, so will have to ensure we don’t get scorched
  2. Lovely day Feels a while since we’ve had dependable settled good weather Have walked a good walk, lightened with a sit down for a coffee/juice, looking at all the pretty boats. The money tied up there!!! Now listening to the cricket, which isn’t going terrible well, tbh
  3. No - not months. You need to apply, with proof of share ownership, at least 4 weeks before your cruise. I’d suggest applying as soon as the deposit is paid but if you buy your shares after that time, that would be OK - subject to the 4 weeks
  4. At the current share price it’s only going to take 6 x 14 night cruises to recover all your outlay and move into £150 per fortnight as “free money” for every cruise thereafter BUT a) that assumes shareholder obc is not withdrawn (I don’t think they could consider that, as, surely, it would result in lots of shares being cashed in and the price tanking even more - but who knows?) b) there remains a risk that Carnival does not survive, whereupon you lose all your investment It all depends on your financial position and your attitude to risk
  5. Me too! All part of the ‘never ever moving again’ reckoning when we came here
  6. It’ll soon be *that time* again. H&H - holidaymakers & haymaking/harvest. It’s ok as long as you don’t need to be anywhere in a hurry. At least the tractor drivers usually pull in, when possible, to allow the convoy following them to go past
  7. There’s nothing quite as scary as the fire alarm going off in the middle of the night. They certainly work! I think it was building work dust that set ours off. I used one of those compressed air keyboard-cleaning cans to give it a good blast I also recall removing a ‘Fire Angel’ from my late parents’ bungalow. That shrieks when it’s not in situ. Drove 30 miles home, aiming to sort it out there. Noisy! Tried to fix it … noisy! Locked it in the garage - shriek! Hit it - shriek! - Took it to the tip - shriek! Apologised to the guys and handed it over and drove home quickly 🤣🤣🤣 Do you remember Phoebe from Friends having similar trouble?
  8. Very changeable weather here - from blue sky and really warm to full-on summer downpour in 5 minutes. It was our group walk this morning, so we spent quite a bit of it lurking under trees and the rest wishing our waterproofs weren’t so uncomfortable 🙄 Petrol is getting ridiculous isn’t it?
  9. Sarah - hope you’re better soon. The LFT is not a bad suggestion - you have been in a “dangerous” situation on board. If negative and you’re still feeling iffy, Diarolyte or similar rehydration sachets will help put you back on your feet After saying previously that the jubilee planners got it right moving the BH from last weekend to this … it’s blowing an absolute hooley here and there was heavy rain o’night. Hope it doesn’t spoil any parties It seemed like a good idea to have coffee and cake out to break up our walk White water! Very unusual in this spot 6A93B61E-7F10-4415-B5BC-CBA4900A7973.MOV
  10. Lovely sunny morning I whinged and wondered why it had been decided to move the BH weekend but it seems whoever made the decision knew we’d have horrible weather on Monday and sun shine on Thursday I’ll lose track of which day it is very son, I’m sure Have a lovely long weekend, and enjoy any gatherings you’re going to
  11. I recall my desk moving during a quake of that order, many moons ago. Strange sensation I like your smart kit SH - is it in response to the Britannia dress code thread? Very showery day forecast here, so we’ll have to judge our walk time carefully. I have Book Club this afternoon anyway. Nothing more exciting than that happening, I’m afraid
  12. Yet another of the things we could/should have warned you about. It might take a couple of days to completed regain your land legs! I’ll look forward to your retrospective when you’ve had time to sort your thoughts (and your laundry?)
  13. Glorious day here. We went to the seaside and lunched out. Posh fish & chips zap? It’s got caviar and all! Possibly the best chips known to man! iPhone says we’ve walked nearly 12km/7+ miles, so probably time for feet to up and enjoy the afternoon sun
  14. Can only agree with previous posters that this has been a lovely read I hope you enjoy a nice relaxed day today, with good weather too, perhaps? Final morning will be another new experience Safe journey home - I look forward to hearing where you will go next. Perhaps Spain/Portugal first, followed by a Med cruise? Our second cruise, after the inaugural fiords adventure, found us in Acapulco! 🇲🇽
