  1. We will be tendering in Edinburgh in June. Finally, Celebrity put up some shore excursions, but we choose to walk around the city. How do we get from the port to the city? Will there be a shuttle? I suppose there will be private taxis, but does the city or Celebrity arrange for anything? (One shore excursion offered is for $52 Celebrity will take us to the city to walk around by ourselves. I don't even know if they pick us up to bring us back to the port. Anyone have info?
  2. We need to go from the Amsterdam Marriott to the Rotterdam Marriott. Will a bus be easy for us? Do you have the website for the bus?
  3. Did you get notification on your email? RCCL always sends an email, but I'm not sure about Celebrity.
  4. I know there is a big discount on the day after Thanksgiving. I'm wondering if there is a major discount near another holiday, like Memorial Day or Easter? Right now my cruises to Australia/New Zealand is offering 5%. I'm hoping for a lot more!
  5. I did search for the daily rate for gratuities but could not find anything. So, how much are the gratuities per day? Thank you.
  6. On the Expplorer, do suite guests have breakfast in Chops Grill if they choose? For dinner, will the concierge seat a couple with other people at a table for 4,6 or 8 if people choose? We enjoy meeting people in this way. I chose a 6:45 reservation as there were no 6:30 reservations (and I booked early) but can we be seated earlier?
  7. The best one on Beyond was called ArtTech. I'd have to look at the pictures for the Apex and Ascent. None was as memorable as Beyond. I'll have to get back to you.
  8. The shows on the Silhouette were Constellation, Tenors of Rock (which was fabulous), Life and Pearl. (We just looked at the pictures from our 2015 cruise.) Yes, the E ships all have different shows. And, on the Ascent, the shows were for a very much younger audience. We did not recognize most of the songs. And they were loud!
  9. I'm not sure of the names of the classes of Celebrity ships. Is the E class the Edge, Beyond, Apex, and Ascent? If so, we saw the production shows on the last three. The Beyond's shows were the best! We will be on the Edge in 2025. I'm assuming the S class is the Silhouette, but I'll look up the others. The E class shows are extremely expensive, I know. But, it seems to me it would be worth it to Celebrity to change the S class shows after 5 years. But, that's just me. We often cruise to be at a resort on board and to be entertained.
  10. We’re on an 11 day cruise so I expect more shows.
  11. We were last on the Silhouette in 2017. Have the production shows changed since then? What are the kind of shows are they doing? When was she last refurbished? What changes were made?
  12. Totally agree, but many people were commenting about this on our FB page of this cruise.
  13. We are presently on the symphony of the seas and the band this week is not great, not even pretty good, in dazzles. Last year music express was terrific. We are on the Explorer in April, and the oasis in November. I’m wondering how the dazzles bands are. We know they’re going to change, but I would just like a heads up.
  14. I think I want to clarify my question. Is club orange free to suite guests? If other guest can purchase that dining area, that’s just fine with me. We have not sailed with Holland America for many years. They were just building club Orange the last time we cruised with them. As I recall, it was a glass enclosed area near the dining room, where people were waiting online to get into the dining room. Is that an accurate memory? is the food different and is it good? The reason I’m asking is that we have sailed recently on Royal Caribbean and Celebrity and it’s quite enjoyable to have a quieter place for meals.
  15. On any of the HAL ships, is there a separate dining room for suite guests?
  16. Thanks everyone. We actually left HAL because of the entertainment quality, especially the production shows. On our last cruise, several years ago, the dueling piano gals see to be fighting with each other. They took the term "dueling" literally! I I now understand the Billboard venue is a piano player singing songs from artists like Billy Joel and Elton John and the like, but not a sing along type show. Is it usually only one performer there?
  17. What type of music is playing and is there a dance floor?
  18. Does this mean we can board at any time in Ft. Lauderdale? We were given 1:00 but we usually board around 11 am. Will it matter if we show up? Will they let us board anyway? Does anyone have any experience in this?
  19. People have been reporting that the Symphony boarding times in Ft. Lauderdale on the December 2 sailing starts at 11:30. I think that is later than usual. Is that the experience of others? Can suite guests embark at any time after boarding starts?
  20. I cannot thank you enough for your info. We travel 'heavy' so I'm not sure if we could wallk to the port, but on google maps it looks like a 5 minute walk which is certainly doable for us. We aren't going until 2025, so I haven't researched yet. It looks like most things to see are in The Rocks area. We are thinking that we will get there one day before as we are doing a B2B so will have time on that inbetween cruises day to sightsee. It's a 22 hour flight from Ft. Lauderdale! We haven't figured out how to handle that yet.
  21. I thank you for this excellent information. Perhaps you can suggest a hotel in Sydney as we will fly in a day early and probably fly out a day after we disembark. And, is there Uber in Sydney? This will probably be our one and only trip to Australia/New Zealand.
  22. So, we can leave the ship and sightsee, then when we return we show our passports and are escorted to a deck? Is this the same for suite guests? What sights should we see?
  23. We will be doing our B2B in Sydney! We are in the same room for both cruises. I understand we will have to leave the ship, but we want to be sure we don't have to pack up our belongings!
  24. We've never done this before but are considering it. Is there a discount? Is it difficult to stay in the same cabin? Are there benefits or difficulties. Please share what I need to know.
  25. How much is wifi on board? Pre-cruise it is $15 per day per device. If I do purchase it on board, can I do it half way through my cruise for a prorated fee?
