  1. Will they give me a tea maker in my suite? On some cruise lines, there is a coffee/tea set-up in the cabin.
  2. Same on my cruise but we bid anyway. We’ve a suite but I thought I’d bid on the bigger one just for the heck of it.
  3. Yes, our AMEX will pay for it! Thank you!
  4. We will be disembarking on a Friday and flying out on Saturday. We will be staying at the Hilton that is attached to the airport. We would like to take a train from the hotel to a place to visit outside of Amsterdam ( as we will have visited Amsterdam prior to the cruise.) We hope to take a train from the airport station somewhere. Where should we go? We probably don't want to have too long a day trip, 6 hours roundtrip would be good. We do need to visit a place where we don't need a car and is easy to walk around. Thank you!
  5. Thank you! Is there a cocktail hour in the Suite Lounge when we don't have to use our vouchers?
  6. We are Diamond members and we booked a suite. I'm wondering if there are two different venues? Does one offer more than the other? On one ship, I think it was the Radiance, both lounges were in the same area and we freely moved from one to the other. I believe the Suite lounge offered a cocktail hour and the Diamond lounge did not. The Diamond lounge had appetizers. (And we met wonderful people in both!) I looked on Youtube and I saw a video of the Voyager of the Seas lounge that looked very nice with windows. On this Cruisecritic site, someone said the suite lounge in in the interior of the ship. My DH and I were just discussing which ship has an interior Suite lounge and we cannot figure it out. (Too many cruises!) In any case, what does the Explorer offer? I'm sorry this is too long, but it was fun to write!
  7. I want to sincerely thank you for your information and helpfulness. we have downloaded the mobile app and my husband will enter the info today. We don't need it until July '24 when we go to Europe. We haven't been there in 5-6 years. You are very kind.
  8. We already have the TSA pre flight. It’s good until next August. Then we will probably get the Global Entry. What do you think?
  9. We are now looking into the MobilePassportControl. That might just be our best idea. Have you heard of this?
  10. We only need the Global Entry for this one trip from the Amsterdam airport to the U.S. We are wondering if it is worth it since we have the TSA pre-check for travel in the USA. I'm wondering how difficult it is to go through the process without the Global Entry.
  11. Does anyone know how long it takes to go through the process of getting Global Entry? How far in advance do I have to ask for an appointment and how long does it take to receive it? Thank you!
  12. We will be disembarking at the cruise port and then plan to take a taxi to an airport hotel to drop off our luggage. Then we hope to take a train to the city for the day and return to the hotel. We have an early plane the next day. Is this a good idea? Is there a train stop close to a hotel that is close to the airport? Suggestions would be appreciated. Which hotel do you suggest? Thank you!
  13. I was also wondering about this. American personnel are told to leave. That's an upgrade from what's 'been going on for years.' I think RCCL will stop going there for a while. We are supposed to be there in December, so there is time to see what happens.
  14. If we get there early enough, may we sit in the front row? (My husband takes pictures, no flash, of course.) Are those seats reserved?
  15. I wonder how things are in Quebec City for boarding. We will be transferred with guests on the pre-cruise tour with Princess, but I doubt if that matters.
  16. When I look at the upgrades offered, there is a dollar amount posted next to the room. Is that the minimum I can bid?
  17. I actually posted this on the main board because I thought people on other cruises might have experienced this. And the reason why I don’t see the title highlighted is that it is my posting. So I’ve already looked at it. I realize this after I asked the question. Thank you everyone for the responses.
  18. WestLakeGirl, you are absolutely right. I called the retreat concierge, and said the same thing. I was so surprised to find this phone number and this easy access person.
  19. Edinburgh, Scotland is on our itinerary, but it is not listed on the shore excursion page. Any idea why? And, on another note, how do I bold type my Title above? I never have known how to do that.
  20. We are on the Explorer next year. At the moment I can book a specialty restaurant for sea days. Is the main dining room open for lunch on sea days?
  21. Has anyone taken this shore excursion? We've taken the city tour of Belfast and wondered if this would be an interesting excursion to see the countryside? i went on Youtube, and I'm not sure how interesting this would be for four hours. Is there a place you would suggest to see in Belfast, a picturesque area?
  22. Thank you. Too bad. Does RCCL offer Chops for free on the first night? We just booked it for the first night in case they don't. First nights in the dining room always seems to be disorganized. I cannot figure why that is, but we try to avoid the first night there.
  23. We are sailing in a suite on the Explorer and wonder if there is a separate dining room similar to the Coastal Kitchen on the Oasis class ships? If not, what are the amenities for dinner for the suite guests?
